Here's what Gerami told the students in his commencement speech:
He was "born to a single mother who was 24 with eight kids at the time..., due to his mother’s struggle with addiction, he was born with an opioid addiction and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. He was also diagnosed with cerebral palsy, seizure disorder and severe attention deficit hyperactivity disorder."
But no worries, he had a good foster family and 2 mentors (and maybe a fairy godmother), so here he is, the youngest black gazillionaire ever at 30 years old. Here's how it went. He started with a landscaping business in 2016, then an investment company for 3 years, shifted to hydroponic farming in 2020, bought his pot farm in 2023 and now in 2024 he's got more money than God. Actually, it's not a "pot farm," it's a "hydroponic produce business with industrial hemp. The company makes money through an agreement with a farming buyback program."

Edited, after hearing more, no, not heart breaking, effing angry! Yes, there should have been more due diligence, but this man played on Hope, belief that good things CAN happen and miracles can just show up. I'll say one thing though. Roland is right. The guy's shoes should have been a dead give-away.
There is a white family that owns a wood flooring business-- The Gerami Family in Louisiana.
They should be looking into FAMU finances. The individuals were too thirsty for the alleged donation. What are they trying to cover up and believed this donation would help?

The fact that he skipped over schools in his home state of Texas to donate to a school in Florida and he has no connection to FAMU? Blinded by greed.
Am I the only one who had an issue with the schools allocating 42% of the scam donation to athletics? Are we not guiding our young black people toward STEM or are we still pushing sports?
