The bible is clearly against homosexuality and against you. If you lived in Biblical times you would not have probably lived to such an age. This ideotic video only explains the reasons as to why the ancient israelites had this prejudice not that they didn't have this prejudice. I am happy you are not a victum of religious trauma or self hate because of your religion's opinions on your sexuality but you really need to question the morality and the logic behind you beliefs.

this is very informational, thank you for making a video about it. Won't get me back into christianity but it is nice to know someone is trying to get christians to understand their own faith. The way I see is that there was a guy named Jesus, not only did he have no problems with homosexuality, but he was oddly enough an older jewish man who was single, which was pretty unusual. He also spent his time hanging around with prostitutes and his best friends were sailors. His main teaching was not to judge other people and to love other people regardless, to the point of being nailed to a piece of wood for them.
The rise of christian nationalism is what has spurned on this modern interest in homosexuality. In fact I see almost NO evangelical christian interest in ANYTHING other than homosexuality, abortion, and gender issues. Two of those three the people of the bible would have NO experience with, and the term homosexuality really doesn't mean more than power relations to the people of that time. In Rome as an official religion they certainly didn't care about homosexuality.
Just keep in mind that as you see 'christian' youtubes that are evangelical in nature, its a strong political lobby, but a shrinking 'faith'. The idea that we 'know' what the creator of the universe wants is pretty ludicrous.

This was extremely well done. Really enjoyed this. But I have to point out that, as far as Levitical Law, Christians aren't supposed to follow any of that to begin with (it is part of the Old Covenant, which Christ replaced, as the New Testament tells us that the Old Covenant was "flawed") and also the fact that, not only does Christ go against the old cultural laws on a number of occasions (like when He stopped the crowd from stoning the prostitute to death), but on one of those occasions He actually told His disciples that these laws were the inventions of MEN, not God ("teaching as doctrines the commandments of MEN"). Also, why did you not mention Ezekiel 16:49, which clearly states that the primary "sin" of Sodom was in fact neglect of the poor and needy? But this was very well done, nonetheless.

Well said. The 'legalism' of the Old Testament is what Jesus came to deliver us from! @granvillesimmons6033 thank you! 😊 most Christians I have known would not, for example, acknowledge the religiously sanctioned and societally condoned systematic dehumanization of homosexuality that leads to the permissive atmosphere that justifies contempt and hatred through subjective comparison as even existing, much less being wrong. And why? Because such an acknowledgement infringes upon their ability to see others as evil in order to see themselves as good. The fact that this dehumanization violates the golden rule by wolves in sheep's clothing throwing the stone of subjective comparison would not even be considered.

So to be clear, do we summarize that the real underlying message on this topic, in the Bible, is that same sex relationships (however that is defined) is not not forbidden but that the focus is on idol worship, sex cults, prostitution, rape or gang rape, pederasty, pedophilia, effeminate men, multiple partners and bottoming are not acceptable? Please correct me if i got that wrong. Im not being sarcastic or anything, im just trying to summarize everything you presented here. Ive struggled with this all my life and am so tired of the conflict. I am same sex attracted. I love the Lord and my relationship with Him but also very frustrated that i don’t feel free to experience a close same sex physical relationship and still call myself a christian. Your struggle is real. I have struggled with similar things my whole life as a now 57 yo cradle Catholic. I find Paul Angelo’s RUclips videos quite helpful. (Although they can be a bit whacky at times.) Angelo says that gay men have been somewhat brainwashed to think they must engage in certain behaviours to be gay. And from a psycho-sexual perspective argues that certain behaviours are actually an attempt to self-medicate unconscious trauma in the body. He offers a different “non-insertive” way to approach same sex relationships that has a more spiritual dimension.

I really enjoyed this video. I don't believe in Christianity myself, but this is a really good, academic, exploration of biblical arguments about gay people, such as myself. The last explanation of Adam and Eve made me remember a myth from the greek world. In one story, humans had two head, and two sets of our limbs. The Gods saw humanity (with each "person" being the union of two) and were afraid, so they took it upon themselves to cleave them in two; and that's where we became individual people, search for the other half that was separated from us, kind of like the idea of soulmates. I just found it funny, when the better translation said it was a whole 'side' of Adam that was taken, instead of just a rib, which makes WAY more sense, from a myth kind of view.

Buy a book called "What Paul Really Said About Women." It covers Greek words, their meanings and how some of these were untranslatable into English and resulting in mistaken translations. It also covers Hellenistic philosophy which crept into the Bible and affected Biblical thought. Paul actually was very pro-woman and was promoting a new idea of husband/wife relationships which including equality. I forget the details but there were two Greek words meaning head. The first means the boss which is how people (men in particular) interpret this BUT the Greek word he used is NOT the same word. The actual word meant, in military terms, something like scout who scouts for danger leading the army forward safely. The wife follows behind in safety but in actual equality. This is not an exact explanation but is in general what he is saying. The book hoes into much more detail. Furthermore, if you read the Bible, God's favorite women were those who broke the rules. There was a woman who hosted meetings in he home, snd a woman who was a Deacon in the church. I forget the names of all of them. There was a woman named Jaleal (??) who won a war for the Israelites by slaughtering the leader of the opposing army and then there was Esther who save her whole race.

A segment from 'Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within'...
My new understandings of what many call 'God -The Holy Spirit' - resulting from some of the extraordinary ongoing after-effects relating to my NDE, when I was struck by lightning during September 1970.
Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what some scientists are now referring to as the unified field of consciousnesses. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence - the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds, and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source. Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the actual creator of everything that exists now, ever existed in the past, or will exist in the future - right down to the minutest particles of dust - each being an individual ripple or wave.
The big difference between chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo and most other conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a ‘middleman’ to connect us to our state of inner enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves. That’s because chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo allows us to tap directly into our enlightened state by way of this self-produced sound vibration. ‘Who or What Is God?’ If we compare the concept of God being a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to the teachings of Nichiren, it makes more sense to me that the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people perceive to be God, is the fantastic state of enlightenment that exists within each of us. Some say that God is an entity that’s beyond physical matter - I think that the vast amount of information continuously being conveyed via electromagnetic waves in today’s world gives us proof of how an invisible state of God could indeed exist.
For example, it’s now widely known that specific data relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects - including an instant global awareness of something or a mass emotional reaction. It’s also common knowledge that these invisible waves can easily be used to detonate a bomb or to enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars - none of which is possible without a receiver to decode the information that’s being transmitted. Without the receiver, the data would remain impotent. In a very similar way, we need to have our own ‘receiver’ switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our own life, all other life and what everything else in existence is.
Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day helps us to achieve this because it allows us to reach the core of our enlightenment and keep it switched on. That’s because Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what scientists now refer to as the unified field of consciousnesses. To break it down - Myoho represents the Law of manifestation and latency (Nature) and consists of two alternating states. For example, the state of Myo is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists - including our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them - our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re dormant - our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma - and more importantly, our enlightenment.
The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory - whenever we experience or express our emotions - or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing.
The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence.
The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists.
Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ - the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation - rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge - and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’.
On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication.
For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything.
NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us.

In other words Joseph was able to consummate his marriage with Mary after Jesus was born. This way Joseph would continue his name as was in the Jewish tradition. So Mary and Joseph had other children which would be the siblings of Christ Jesus. Except Joseph was not the biological Father of Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God.

If someone wants to be gay, or have a gay marriage, go right ahead. But if you expect the Bible to approve your lifestyle, then you are wrong. All sex outside a married heterosexual couple is sin. The original marriage shows God's intentions. We live in a time where every aspect of traditional Christianity is going to be questioned. The judgment will show who is right and who is wrong. Men can say and do whatever here on Earth. Not there.

In Jude 7 which is the only verse in the NT that says the sins of Sodom were sexual. The Greek is sakros heteras. Sakros means "flesh" We get our word heterosexual from "heteras". Jude 7 says the sins of Sodom was heterosexual, NOT homosexual.

    Roman. Corinthian, Timothy
Paul frequently discusses the sanctity of marriage in his writings, despite having never married himself. He lived a single life, which sheds light on his teachings. In his letters to the Corinthians, he addresses a different audience and context. He emphasizes that love transcends the sexual aspect and advocates for sexual moderation.
However, Paul's writings often return to the topic of sexual ethics. He speaks out against male prostitution and homosexuality, which suggests he may be grappling with personal guilt and shame. He advises Timothy to avoid such struggles with sexuality.
Paul's perspective is that individuals interpret beliefs through their own lens. In Romans, he explains the creation of the world to the church in Rome and laments how sex, a divine gift, has been corrupted, deviating from its intended purpose as an act between a man and a woman, which he believes dismays God.
He appears to address issues that Jesus did not explicitly mention, indicating a personal connection to the subject. Paul's writings imply that the absence of love is akin to hell.

First of all, the term homosexual was coined by a guy named Karl Kertbeny in 1869, with the term heterosexual soon following.
When approaching this subject, everyone seems to want to contextualize it into irrelevancy: cultural norms of the time, etc. Yet the Bible also says that God doesn't change: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever." (Heb. 13:8) "For I am the LORD, I change not...." (Malachi 3:6) KJV.
The key to understanding Sodom in Genesis 19, is Gibeah (short i) in Judges 19. Here we see similar events unfolding centuries apart with some key differences that help explain it much better. In Judges 19, one of the visitors is female, and she is taken by the mob, brutalized all night, and dies of her injuries. This means the men of Gibeah were clearly bisexual.
In both cases though, the daughter(s) of those sojourning with them were offered and rejected in favor of the new faces in town. In Sodom, both visitors were male, and the mob consisted of "...the men of Sodom..."..both old and young, all the people from every quarter." (Gen. 19:4). No population of any city, anywhere, ever had a population that was 100% homosexual. It wouldn't last as they wouldn't be reproducing: they'd die out. So, the men of Sodom were also bisexual. They most likely had the attitude of the men of Afghanistan, as reported in the press at the time when the U.S. was occupying it: Women for children, men for fun. (This was later modified to "Women for children, boys for fun," but you get the idea.) As both visitors to Sodom were angels, nothing the mob had planned was going to happen, whereas in Gibeah both visitors were mortal, so something was going to happen.
in Romans 1:27, the men in question here were also bisexual as they left "...the natural use of the woman...." by choice. It has often been pointed out that homosexuality is not a choice, but what has been missing is the fact that bisexuality offers a choice. And, if homosexuality is not a choice, it is not a sin, because sin is a choice: a choice to disobey, that is acted upon, in the case of doing what you were told not to do, or not doing what you were told to do.
Rather, it is a fault; and what does the Bible say about faults? "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16). In the case of this fault, you're basically commanded to "come out." The stress of keeping all this bottled up inside is not healthy.
An how should such a person be treated? Galatians 6:1-2 give us the answer: "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye on another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." For, as I Corinthians 10:13 says: "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it." It's your cross to bear.
As for using the two verses in Leviticus (18:22 & 20:13) to say that homosexuality is a sin, is like using the verse that condemns adultery (20:10,) with the same punishment, death, must make heterosexuality a sin too. Sexuality isn't the sin, it's what you do with it.

Trying to interpret it as the word of an unproveable and unknowable divine figure is just silly. I agree with the history of sodom and the biblical issues of it not being about homosexuality; conversely, that does not justify using the slander of post-modernists; there is no such thing as a "phobia" of homosexuality. While I agree that definitely some people use the term homophobia too freely, it's pretty fair to say the word as it's used means more than just a literal phobia. We see this with other terms related to this. Language changes, and English words pretty much always have connotations beyond just a very strict/root word meaning.
This words has (for a long time now) meant more than just a fear of homosexuality, and insisting otherwise I've always found a very strange defensive stance, one that everyone pretty much dismisses out of hand.

@@wolfblaide I’m not sure what term could be used to define what it actually is. There may have been a genuine fear of the lifestyle up until the 90’s. But since 2010 the gay lifestyle had been accepted into social norms; aside from those who were opposed to gay marriage. It is now more an issue of it all being pushed down everyone’s throat through the state and corporations.
I was in support of gay marriage under the constitution. And race had improved to the point of voting in our first black president. But unfortunately It seems that since Obama’s presidency, be it circumstantial or not, everything has escalated in our society: racism, hate-slander, Transgenderism, unashamed political propaganda in schools and media, entitlement, grooming, political corruption, WEF, and hyperinflation.
Post-modernism may be a reaction against the slow progress of enlightenment rationalism, but it presents more as the tantrum of ignorant privilege through totalitarian control.
I mean this point philosophically now: post-modernism is largely effeminate, and appears to me to be an unbalanced extreme over-correction of matriarchy from the extremes of historical patriarchy.

So then give us your vocabulary for the pathological hate that drives many males (often invoking pseudo Christian jargon) to literally beat gay men to death in a manner that the police will tell you is more violent than other violent crimes they see. The injuries, the ferocity of the attacks are well know among police forces world wide for their extreme and excessive violence. Just interested to know what you would call that passion and where you believe it comes from? Freud coined the term ‘homophobia’ to refer to an internal terror of being or having homosexual tendencies.

It seems when there are censurable statements about pagan homosexuality, or prostitution, there is something else attatched to it, whether it is paganism or bad behavior. Furthermore, in the New Testament, there is a new emphasis against judging others. If one reads the Sermon on the Mount, there is a prohibition against looking lustfully at a woman specifically. I don't believe he said this to condemn, but if one reads further, to prevent the condemning of others.

And just to add a little more to the master piece video you made... there's also another problem with Leviticus and it tends to be overlooked! It basically is that not even jews are clear on what's been truly forbidden in the text, 'cause the word used in that prhase could mean 2 things: 1 anal intercourse or 2 intercouser with an androgynous person.
And scholar jews argue: if it is the second option, then there's no problem for homosexual intercourse and if it is the first option, then it is forbidden for both men and women. And they also highlight that this text is specifically directed to priests and only priests, therefore it cannot and must not be applied to other jews, just priests!

And as for this "sexual immorality" stuff, it's a modern thought; there is no evidence to suggest that even if there were a "God" in the way you think, that "he" would create gay people and then say they were bad. That would be "God"'s own mistake. Man has merely constructed a "God" in man's own image.

Another is the well-known episode in one of the Kings books, when Saul's son Jonathan dies and David declares that to him J's love has been better than the love of women. @@gulfislander11 He is also quoting from Leviticus and uses the word "abomination" from it (when many Christians completely ignore Levitical laws saying they are not for Christians), but if they are going to quote it as they do concerning homosexuality they must also take as seriously the prohibition on eating shellfish which is also described as an "abomination" four times.
This seems to be very selective quotations, yet conveniently ignore what might affect them, such as fornication, adultery, lying, gossip, slander, coveting, and a whole host of other "sins"!
You are right about Christ not saying anything specific about homosexuality, although He did refer to last days being like the time of Lot, which is a reference to Sodom and Gomorrah.
However, after learning to read Hebrew fluently in Israel as a chef, the story of Sodom read very differently in the original text where the word rendered as "men" in the story is actually the male plural word "ANASHIM" which means "people" (inclusive of females but written in male format) and comes from the related root word "ANUSH" which means "human", not exclusively male.
This is seen throughout the Bible where terms like "sons of God," "men of Galilee" at the Ascension and "men of Jerusalem" on the Day of Pentecost also include females in the male plural. If one reads Genesis 19:4 using "people" instead of "men" there is no homosexual story.
Of course biased closed minded people will not consider this grammatical reality due to being blinded by self-righteous condemnation and judgement convinced of this imaginary gay plot.
However, the Bible itself proves it itself when one reads later in the same verse where the English word "people" is used as well, which is the small singular Hebrew word "AM" which describes the whole citizenry of Sodom as "people from every quarter" (of the city) just as it used elsewhere in singular form, as with "AM ISRAEL," the "people of Israel" etc. So it is in there.
Thank you for your comment, as very few Christians keep women silent in church etc! 💕
