So underrated how good a design this is! A healthy ammount of indirect interaction. Also good production value and everything fits the theme pretty well. Love it.
Love that this game won your Patreon poll and received the playthrough treatment. It feels like only new games get featured on RUclips nowadays, whether due to publisher-sponsored content or the overall “hype train”, so it’s nice to see a classic receive some love. For someone who’s only a couple years into the hobby, this game was not on my radar, but it definitely is now.
I was very pleasantly surprised to see it win as well. It may be 9 years old but to me it feels no different from other streamlined euros that are coming out today.
Another well made video Jon! The different ways you’re trying to showcase how to get points for the different players is awesome. I am glad this won the poll.
Ah yes, I remember watching a runthrough for this game a long while back and thought it looked so cool. To me it is a solid example of the worker placement genre. A good one has some form or another of player interaction which is definitely the case with the wake up times and the fresco itself. I also like how players can gain or lose workers based on the overall level of satisfaction of the apprentices, really forces you to go for a balanced approach in a way and so many calculations.
I'm glad I watched this video because I thought the Bishop gave money, but I see now it's points. Makes a huge difference in the game! What a great game! 🎨🎭
I've had this on my shelf forever... and although i'm looking forward to playing it will probably be there for awhile still, looking for the right group/time to do it. Looks very cool.
It looks like on the first turn you gave the blue player a green and blue cube, but he was supposed to receive 3 blue cubes instead of one. Did you give him the other 2 off screen? Thanks!
Wow, that's a pretty big error. I have no way to easily know if I fixed this off screen since I hid all of it from the camera, but it's very likely that I didn't. I suppose their plays could be tracked into the future and see if they ended up using 2 more blue than they seemed to take, but I very much doubt I fixed this. I will add a note to the Klingon subtitles about this, thanks for pointing it out!

You sir, make the best playthroughs for board games hands down. Thanks!

Well said, Trevor. So many cool games out there amongst the hotness. Most of my 150+ collection is left of the dial. Fresco is fab. Jon too.

This is such a solid game. Overlooked these days for the hotness

It's one I've enjoyed over the years, I hope you get a chance to try your copy :)
12:22 "they like the idea of winning" I got a kick out of this comment, I think John prefers to get the bonus point when deciding a tie...

One minor thing: at 8:46 you say you have 15 money left over, but it seems like you have 10.
Another good catch, thanks. I've added a quick note about it to the Klingon subtitles.
