I can't wait to see if this works for me! Sergers are so difficult to thread.... especially if you don't do it on a regular basis. I sure hope I can do this!!!!
I got my 936 used. It fell into my hands set up for coverstitching. So, I dive into reading the manual, consulting the threading guides and spent the next six hours trying to figure out why... Why is this thing not stitching correctly! Keep in mind, I'm a retired large-system IT (information technologies) guy. So, head-down buried in the mysteries of a not-working piece of software or hardware is just another day at the office for me. So I keep looking, looking, looking... I keep referencing the threading directions/charts. I keep hopping back over to my office desk to check various on-line resources and videos. And still, no luck! The needle and loopers seem miles and miles apart. There's no way they're going to stitch that far apart. Maybe I'm missing some kind of lever or spinning bit? Then, many hours into the no-stitch-witch of a problem, I see the needle positions are different for coverstitching vs. overlocking... Remember, the machine arrived in my hands in coverstitch mode. As soon as I moved the needles rearward to the overlock position, it started sewing like a dream! Such is the way it goes! Just keep at difficult issues until they are solved. Or, you go crazy and check into the local mental hospital... The good news is that I've threaded the thing so many times, I'll never forget or need to reference the threading guide again!
Thanks for uploading this. My DVD of this demo wouldn't work. More on the Vikiing 905 or anything you think would help for beginers learing to serge on their own.
