Hello. I’m back
Thank you so much I’m back riding PERFECT.
I have an update 😂😂
Not that you wanna take advice from me 😂
I installed a 7 plate clutch
The original was 6 plates
I added a stunt clutch handle
And tightened my chain a little bit.
Runs better than it ever ran.
I came to find that Brozz chain slack isn’t like Honda Yamaha or other brands.
I had a bike mechanic ride it and set adjust my carb
I had no issues yesterday riding it.
Thanks again
And I hope you’re getting well
That's what I like to hear! Glad your back up and riding! So the 7 plates fit?!? Yeah I still have the stock clutch lever, surprised it lasted this long! Also the chains adjusts differently than the bigger names. I'm usually messing with my chain every other ride anyways. Main check list before riding!*Chain tension, spoke tension, brake function, clutch and throttle cable check, wobble both front and back tires and always keep an eye on the sprocket studs! I've learned the hard way with the sprocket studs and also my back bearing blew out on the trail. So that's why I like to check the bearings before every ride lol. Sorry rambling! Anyways safe riding out there and have fun!! Ps. Going through physical therapy, 💪 before surgery. I should be back out there before the snow takes over. If not next season for me. Thanks for the well wishes!
Any ideas on why a clutch won't engage? Bought the cg250 brand new for a project, but the clutch never worked out of the box. Cable is hooked up to the lift lever on the crankcase fine, Engine starts and runs fine, but when you pull the lever, it doesnt do anything. If you put it in gear, the bike just jumps forward and stalls becuase the clutch won't engage. I've pulled it apart and disassembled the clutch basket to make sure everything is freed up, but it still won't work.
Hmmm maybe the release mechanism in your clutch arm isn't connecting to the clutch push rod. Try taking the case off and inspect behind to see if anything is missing or broken near your clutch actuator. Then try to manually push the push rod in to see if it's just not going in. Other than that I would have to know a little more to help diagnose. Seems odd being that it's basically brand new like you stated. When you pull the clutch does it at least move the actuator? My main concern would be that it's not properly installed when the case is put back on. You gotta give the arm a little wiggle so it sets itself in the right place. Hopefully some of this helps and let me know any updates please.
@@irishryder2470 yeah. Everything on the crankcase works, but the clutch itself doesn't do anything. It's like it's under too much tension or there's too much friction in the plates. If the springs and bolts are installed, it won't spin at all. And the way it's made, the crankcase won't fit back together unless the springs are compressed all the way, and the pushrod fits properly into the lever shaft. Nothing happens when I try to push the rod into the clutch. It's supposed to compress more when pushed in, right? And then relax when it's released, so the plates can spin? It doesn't do any of that.
That 4 prong nut you put on at 3:49 what size was the socket
It's in the description buddy!
Where can I find engine parts ; haven’t been able to find cam shaft gear “please help if can”
If you follow any groups on Facebook there's a couple groups on there,Chonda Riders,BashanBrozz250,etc. These groups have all the info needed for parts and upgrades. As far as something like that you can find all these parts on eBay and Amazon. Just have to cross reference with the groups search bar to find the right part. With Chinese bikes you either get antsy and buy without research and find out if it fits or works. That's my experience with most parts. I would try to research as much as possible before ordering anything. Hope that helps buddy.
Thanks for this video.
I did this clutch swap the other day.
I can’t get no tension on my clutch handle to save my like. I don’t know what went wrong
You may not have lined up the clutch lifter rod when you put the case back on. Did you put tension on the clutch arm when you put the case back on? Also make sure you connected your clutch line at the engine mount area if you didn't.
@@irishryder2470 yes sir I checked that and I also put the crankcase on correct I watched your whole video
I guess my question is how much tension is on that lever that’s on the crankcase.
That’s what seems to be the issue
If I pull that cable back by the engine by hand I can get the clutch handle on the top tight.
When I hook that cable to the clutch lever by the engine 🧐 noodles
It’s limp no tension at all at the clutch handle
Omg 😳it’s crazy.
@@ShankMistaMusic there's two bolts you have to tighten where the clutch cable attaches to the engine. They lock your clutch cable in place and allow you to tighten and loosen depending on how much slack you you in your clutch lever. Hang on I'll try and make a video for you quick if this can help.
@@irishryder2470 thanks man. Yes I know those bolts. I appreciate the info
I’m thinking maybe I’m gonna get a new cable.
I don’t stay far from peace sports it’s in Atlanta. I’m gonna see if that helps they only 9$ it’s something so basic and simple.
I’m just not getting tension on this cable
It possibly stretched idk 🤷
@@ShankMistaMusic is there tension on the clutch arm itself? Your welcome just trying to help out. Hopefully a new cable can solve your problems!
Ok I needa do mine on my Raven 250 bashan. eBay has them as it's 2024 hard too find but They have them. Is it a 73 t and 7 plates do you know off hand by any chance? T.i.a.!!!!
@@Billy_Tenn1 sorry for getting back so late. I believe you'll be good with the 7 plate and if it happens to be six plates when you take it off. Use the original basket and take a plate and friction out. Just match up what you take off to what you put in. All the engines take the same components for the most part. When it comes to the plates, I believe there might have been a difference in the tao tao. The Raven is a Bashan make so it should take this hang on.
Hi Irish,
I have a Lifan KPX 250, it take most the same parts. I recently purchased a top rod from CSC for the bike to go into the seperating axel. However the Clutch Top Rod appears to be too long by a few cms and will not allow for me to close the clutch cover completely. I am wondering if possible would I need a top rod axel replacement for this to fit? Also would it be possible to pay maybe for virtual consulting? I would love any advise I could have on repairing the bike and it seems like most mechanics here in GA will not work on as they say "Chinese" bikes?
Are you talking about the clutch arm actuator? It's not allowing for the clearance because it's too long? I'm not a mechanic by any means but I am very handy. I can watch something and teach myself how to do just about wtv. For any type of assistance I would have to see pictures as I'm not up to par with the part names. Did you perform the upgrade to your springs? Or just needed to replace the part you named. I haven't seen much on the engine in the kpx. Definitely a nice bike that I wanted when it first came out.
@@irishryder2470 Hey thanks so much for getting back to me Irish! if you like I can email a video of what im speaking about?
@@Cartelbk yes you can send a video and I can give you some info if I can provide any insight. My email is iamry6989@aol.com.
@@Cartelbk also no problem I don't mind helping out a fellow rider. I know it's hard finding anyone to work on these bikes plus finding anyone around who can work on a bike is hard sometimes too. At least a person you can trust.
@@irishryder2470 dude every mechanic has basically said no! haha. I just emailed a video of the issue to you, thanks again mate!
They sale them by size and kinda linked up too the cg250 Engine but not real good description on many clutch's and many engines. Ty
Would be able add a link to where you got your replacement parts or part numbers please I'm wanting to do the same thing. Thanks.
I'll add it in the description for you buddy!
Thanks.
@@Dustin850 no problem meant to add those to the description. Life gets crazy sometimes.
Hey man. We need to talk.
I watched this video 20x
I did everything you did.
Put the crankcase back on correct
Hooked the clutch wire to the gear arm.
No pressure
Clutch lever is loose
What’s the trick????
What am I missing 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
I paid someone last time because I had the same issue
I tried a heavy duty spring install this weekend put everything back on exact and poof
Can’t gee no tension at the clutch handle
When your reinstalling the clutch cover you have to make sure you have the clutch arm bent in a little. It will take a little wiggling to get it in place. You most likely misaligned that part. I always check mine before I bolt it back up. Wish I was there to help it's not that hard to get right but just as easy to mess up.
@@irishryder2470 ok how about this.
If that lever was a hand on the clock where would it point?
I think that’s the issue
The crab I case is on perfect
But the arm has just a little tension
Not enough to pull to make that clutch handle tight.
Maybe I gotta spin it around
It’s something so simple I’m missing.
@@ShankMistaMusic I would say you want it around 1o clock if your facing the bike from the side. You can wiggle it as you put it on and you will feel it slip by as you put your side case back on. I would extend it further in as you put it in and slowly let it out as you slide the case back on. You will feel it fit in it's spot and then the case should be easier to slide on. Just don't let it go past that 1 o clock mark or you'll miss it like previously. Look at the actuator on the back when you move the arm back and forth. This will give you an idea of what needs to hook up as you put it on. It's a little divet that pushes the little center thing that releases your clutch.
@@irishryder2470 you’re the best!
I’m gonna try one more time before I throw this bike in the trash can 😂😂
Man you should do more content
You have a perfect mindset and personality
Thanks for helping me.
@@ShankMistaMusic no problem buddy. I hope my advice helps out. Just take your time and don't get discouraged. Thank you for the compliments! Your the first person to actually give me such high props for my content. I will continue to make content, after I heal up. I went a little too hard on the trails last month. Tore my ACL and meniscus. Once I can work or ride again I'll be making more content! Thanks for watching and supporting buddy and again good luck!
why did u replace the clutch ?
@@kilocharlie317 I bought the clutch years before I learned about the spring upgrade. So I figured while I was in there I would swap out the clutch. I don't think it was necessary, kind of a learning experience. I think I was at like 7-8 thousand miles when I did this upgrade.
@@irishryder2470 so I just changed out my clutch springs.. and handle bar clutch is alot more crisp and it's just smoother shifting into the gears.. I noticed tho when I'm releasing the clutch it's pretty sloppy.. I seen this and thought maybe u had the same problem and wanted to see if that fixed it or not.. when i replaced the clutch springs i noticed the clutch assembly was kinda loose and seated firmly idk if that's how its supposed to be or what tho
Hey, where did you get the new gasket?
Thank you for reminding me!! Links in the description! Now lol
I have nearly the same bike. Just got it. This morning I installed the heavy duty springs only like you showed. I did not install the new clutch. My problem is it appears the clutch is dragging. I can squeeze the clutch in and the bike will stop, but when I go into gears, I can feel the clutch is not fully Letting go. Do you think I should take that plate off again and put in new clutch pads?
It could be the adjustment of your clutch wire. It may be too tight not allowing the clutch to fully disengage and engage.
@@irishryder2470 it is fixed and is perfect. I think I didn’t get it back properly
@@johngodwin7902 glad to hear and happy riding!!
Auh want to share what kit you used.
All in the description.
where did you get the tool ?
I left a list of parts used in the description. I got the socket off Amazon.
Where do you find your parts?
Amazon mostly, Brozz250.com,eBay. Anything I need takes a little research but I've been able to find everything to keep it running for 4 years.
