Nice car! Top tip for your accusump: open the valve before cranking the engine. The crank floats in the oil film before moving so you eliminate bearing wear associated with starts. It’s a great system that has saved many an engine (usually after having a disaster)
G'day Lee, great to see the track cars back and getting them ready for a track day. If your after a solution to no reverse gear on the kit car a mate of mine had the same issue on a trike he built. He made an aluminium flywheel and fitted a ring gear from an Escort to it and bolted it between the drive shaft and rear diff flanges. He then mounted a starter motor to it and when he needed reverse gear he would hold in the clutch and press a button for the reverse gear and away he"ed go

My westfield seight has 500bhp per tonne (excluding driver). It is a car that wants to kill you. 350bhp per tonne is much more sensible. Enjoy the upgrade. I look forward to seeing it run and your feedback. Accusump is a great idea. I have a wet sump with baffling and trap doors but I still have oil issues on long fast corners.
Have you considered painting the airbox Barum Orange? It may be too obtrusive in black? Other than that, a great install! The sound from the air intake when running is immense!!!
An orange airbox would look trick, or, here is an idea so you dont have to cut into the bonnet, you could move the air-cleaner so it sits in front of the airbox, then run a fat pipe from the filter housing up and into the airbox.
Accusump on my blackbird 7 didn't sort the oil surge issue out sufficiently. It was fine on the road but on track with stickies, it wasn't up to it . Hope you have better look. On a positive note it will go like stink ;)
I'm aching to see a ride along racetrack video of that Kit car on the track and how much better it is with the extra power. Pardon me if I'm completely wrong here but, it didn't seem as responsive to throttle as I was expecting. It did have the sound of a beafier engine it seemed to me it responded cleanly with no actual hesitations or hint of being off but, just not as snappy and quick revving as I was expecting. If it's a drive by wire throttle it could be settings to do with that that might want a bit of adjusting, or it could be Leah just not stabbing at the throttle, which would be sensible if this is/was first start or even just not to be revving hell out of a pretty much stone cold engine, something I try hard not to do on any of my bikes or cars.
I'm with you but, for keeping the time wasted to a minimum for the video, I'll allow it, only the once though. I'm usually a real strong advocate of waiting for a machine to warm up to full running temperature before even going above a quarter throttle at no more than half max revs, at least with ones I care about. I'm also really fussy about how I run an engine in too.
@@stevekelly5166 You know, I heard that sea water with half a bucket of sand makes great coolant, the same makes great lubrication for an engine too so, why don't you go play with those ideas, or pull your pud some more for us to laugh at. Either way, nobody here will give a crap.
Oh no! An unfinished job with a cleaned up and repainted old second hand engine doesn't look absolutely perfect. I guess that's it then, it won't even run, clearly! If it does it'll always be behind a prettier, tidier and shinier car for sure 🏁 🛵 🐢 🛺💨 💥 💨💥 💥💨

You need sound absorbing panels in your workshop; or chuck out the screamers.

Accusump NEEDS to be mounted oil port Downhill 10/20 deg NOT level. and the electric one way valve makes it much easier to manage and set up

Fuel was mentioned in the jerry can. It's a diesel with 20% methanol.

Hardly revving considering the redline! Not under load.
Guess you let your engine idle for halfg an hour, until it warms up.
