I think the story behind the game got changed last second before full release, because from Alpha 2 to Beta 3, the intro had you moving in to your childhood house, but then the Neighbor takes over, putting you across the street. In the full game however, your childhood home is across the street from the Neighbor, and he doesn't take your home this time. Considering the multiple photos in your apartment and home in Alpha 4 and the Betas, which depict the Neighbor and presumably his son, as well as the scrapped ending in which you opened the basement door to reveal a box with that same picture in it, I believe it was planned to be revealed that you were the Neighbor's son, coming back home and reliving your traumas as a child. The cutscene after you fall asleep here in Alpha 2 would go to show that your father was abusive, the beating on the couch being the prime example, as well as after he catches you he throws you out and locks the door. As for who was in the basement, that may have been just a representation of you, with your father locking you down there every now and then. Honestly, I understand why this story was scrapped in the end. The one in the full game feels a lot better.
I believe the alpha 2 story was that you had never even met the neighbor and your moving into a new house but the neighbor who was a serial killer or was kidnapping someone, drove to his old house to keep his hostages there, as in aloha 2 it's clear hes has a whole family down there, the neighbor doesn't expect that tou are moving into his old house and kicks you out
I love this version of the game. The art style is a good balance between whacky and normal, the lighting is stupendous, the cinematics are decent, no confusing story that tries to justify the neighbor locking up a child and the neighbor’s Ai isn’t a total mess. There’s also a lot of other things I loved about this specific build. I was hoping the final game would turn out something like this, but eh. What are you gonna do?
@@LATIAPAOLA1 the art style was so ugly and weird plus very boring so I can agree, thank god NateEMG made alterative reality cuz thats way better than the full game.
The main differences in this version is Old artstyle clock Old artstyle keycard terminal Keycard still being on 2 boxes (like in alpha 1.5) also different room Platform lever having the power down sound No gasp and the neighbor quickly catches you (alpha 1.5) (tutorial) Old books Less sounds Gun/rifle angle (wth?) Basement chase door having a interact box
also at 4:05 you can look also all the wardrobes are the same 14:02 the shadow in the basement plays longer Motion blur in the tutorial Different placement for lockpick in the kitchen Lights are off in the living room 4:28 the lift to the window is faster different flooring on the second floor the orange wall that blocks the stairs after you opened them is different The generator outside has a bigger button and is rotated a bit to the right
thats possible use the console and type this for motionblur r.motionblur.amount Value i would go with heighest amount 0.3 or 0.5 cause if its at 1 its all werid
Alpha 2 was pretty much complete before the release of the Pre-Alpha in October 2016. Alpha 2 was being worked on in early 2016, same with Alpha 1, and on the summer of 2016.
Pppwtoopppsgkzn is a great place to start and I love it so much that I have to go back to it every time I go to it and I love the way it is and eeeeeeeeee

Sounds like an opera performance doing the thing where they become high pitched idk
The devs definitely should have kept this style. It was like a refreshed version of the old style that wasn’t too scary.
I love how it’s a mix of the new and old art style

If feel like early versions of Pre alpha - Alpha 2 are slightly better than the public ones
The main differences in this version is
Old artstyle clock
Old artstyle keycard terminal
Keycard still being on 2 boxes (like in alpha 1.5) also different room
Platform lever having the power down sound
No gasp and the neighbor quickly catches you (alpha 1.5) (tutorial)
Old books
Less sounds
Gun/rifle angle (wth?)
Basement chase door having a interact box
also at 4:05 you can look
also all the wardrobes are the same
14:02 the shadow in the basement plays longer
Motion blur in the tutorial
Different placement for lockpick in the kitchen
Lights are off in the living room
4:28 the lift to the window is faster
different flooring on the second floor
the orange wall that blocks the stairs after you opened them is different
The generator outside has a bigger button and is rotated a bit to the right

r.motionblur.amount Value i would go with heighest amount 0.3 or 0.5 cause if its at 1 its all werid
@@lostdeeper could u type it for me i have no idea how to type the value in
It doesnt work because a specfic setting (i think) needs to be enabled before the game is packaged
Recorded before Pre-Alpha you say? I remember seeing 12 minutes gameplay of that with two guys.
Alpha 2 was pretty much complete before the release of the Pre-Alpha in October 2016. Alpha 2 was being worked on in early 2016, same with Alpha 1, and on the summer of 2016.
NateEMG you make great videos
The comments will be filled with people saying how to download but not to be rude it’s a clip not the game sorry

I think the Incomplete Alpha 2 was created as a test version of Alpha 2.
Kinda Weird This Is made before pre alpha came out
even though the gun looks really dumb atleast his hand isnt obviously clipping through it
How did you open Hello Neighbor Alpha 2 inside the Unreal Engine editor?
This isn’t him playing. This is footage from a Tinybuild developer
amo estos videos
this should be nicknamed alpha 1.4
Why
You should make a remake of this with much better animations.
Bruh it's regular alpha 2 but with a BIT of changed maybe sounds and old art model of terminal
Like if you heard the neighbour say quiet at 3:04
I heard him, So I liked
It was at “3:02”
nate if this was recorded before pre alpha why is it new art
Because alpha 2 was just being finished by the time the pre alpha released
So they made the pre alpha as just a "demo" and the alpha 2 was already being developed much earlier than we think? Wow, that's new to me. @@NateEMG
@@themrrojo yeah I mean, the pre-alpha was already a year old by the time it released
@@NateEMG And another question, could alpha 1 and alpha 2 have been part of the same game? (I mean, early versions of the acts)
@@themrrojo They're different versions altogether. But the Alpha 2 house was thought to become an intro/opening house for the full game, which it did.
Let’s play nice 👍🏾

This is alpha 2? I don't recall it using the old flooring anywhere but the basement, the old vase, and a handful of other small details
This recording was recorded before Pre-Alpha's official release, funny enough.
This is an incomplete version of Alpha 2. Small things are different in this version.
The unfinished Alpha 2 is like Alpha 1.75
