Hi.Dan, Enjoying your Qashqai upgrade videos.. I upgraded my horn on my Qashqai thanks to an old Citroen C4.. They are Bosch horns..The bracket system on the C4 lets you place both new horns in the same area where original sat. Slight modification to the Citroen bracket and it bolts to Nissan bracket.. Job done..👍 I am going to do gas strut upgrade next.. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for this Dan. Just done on my Qashqai Front bonnet Gas Struts. Other Qashqai owners envy when I don’t need to fiddle with a supporting rod. Then to close just the same effort as the rear hatch.
What you do is use, one of the metal brackets per horn and, bolt them both onto the original bracket. They fit straight back into the original space and no need to drill any holes.
Thanks for this useful video. I used this info, but instead of ejecting the old horn, I simply added the two new ones. So now I have three horns blasting away.
Great instillation Dan the new horns look and sound good absolute bargain. One concern is that quite probably the original horn was grounded through the bracket to the metal bodywork. With mounting the new horns onto the plastic would no longer be grounded? A simple fix would be ring connector on each horn stud with a wire running from each to the metal hole from which the original bracket was attached.
@@TheQashqaiGuy Hi Dan thanks for the reply. If there was a short it could possibly heat up the cables and cause a fire if not allowed to go to ground. There will be an additional amps draw from the extra horn but it should still be under 15 amps which I have a feeling the fuse will be rated at for the horn but it's safer still to ground the horns as the original were so that an unexpected short will go to ground. 😊👋🏻
Hi. Love your tutorials. Can you please explain if a nissan qashqai j11 has a place to check the power steering wheel level? Mine is slightly hard (just bought it but comparing the steering whee to my old car vauxhall insignia). Thanks in advance ◡̈
I did wonder because you used a bracket for Each horn that you used a bolt to hold the other end of the bracket to the plastic, if they would of both just been simple to secure back onto the original bracket due to a bracket for each horn plus there still grounded.
Hi Dan, great vid as always but a quick question, can you gain access to the lower grill from above as I'm looking at putting mess behind it to stop stones going through air con condenser with it being a bad design on the Qashqai 👍🏼
Dan, How did you drill the holes using that drill on the pavement in such a confined space, especially with the radiator behind that plastic panel? Did you take that out too? The new horns do sound a lot better. One other thing, when you tape up the electrical connections, have you ever thought of using shrink wrap (I think that is what it is called, it's a bit like electrical tape in texture) and a hair dryer/heat gun. I know the tape does the job but it looks a lot neater when it's finished. I only ask as a mate that did some electrical work on one of my previous cars used it.
Pretty sure there is 2 horns on cars ...my xtrail has 2 ..not sure about yours..i know not xtrail but id thought nissan do same in all cars, 1 high tone and 1 low tone... i tried a high tone only and without need to change low tone it sounds ok so no point fitting 2
hi Qashqui Guy, if anybody can assist it would be very much appreciated Does anybody know if I can find a 12V positive feed pre ignition in my Qashqai Cabin

My wife and I have an 18 registration Qashqai and the horn is terrible. I have wanted to change it since we've owned it. Thanks for the help👍
No worries mate. It's a nice easy job.

Haha brilliant idea!
Thanks Dan just completed the Horn on my Nissan qashqai brilliant 👍
Had my qashqai 3 years now and it was the 1st thing I did
Hi Dan, Is it the same process for the Qashqai J10?
Pretty much. Not sure on locations though
It sounds so much better
Hi,
I’ve just bought a 2019 Acenta.
I noticed the horn sounded embarrassing, would a horn swap be the same on mine?
Cheers.🏆
Same on x-trail but we were looking at adding air horns 😈🤘

Fair point, didn't think they would need to be grounded tbf. What difference would it make? As you say easy enough to ground them tho

Ps really enjoy the videos and the effort you put in. Keep up the good work. 😊👋🏻
Cheers for that mate, I'll get them grounded and edit the description.
Hi Dan! Please can you post Herr the link from the horns or write the type of them. Thx
How do you increase the volume of the indicator/hazard warning. The warning cannot be heard over the noise of the blower fan.
Awesome. I so need to do this. Thanks.

There should be a pas reservoir under the bonnet. Also check what steering setting it's on in the settings under driver assistance

this is my next todo thing
Useful video, however could have done with the skipped part as well on how to do the wiring
Really appreciate all the helpful information and advice on my new Qashqai.
Do you have a video on disabling the "stop start system@ please advise
No bud, I think someone made a module a while back but it involves a lot of work soldering and rewiring relays.
Just has a new start/stop relay fitted as it blew my starter motor that had only been in the car a month
You could have joined them in Y shape using the original bracket.
Brilliant I’m going for that many thanks 👍

I haven't looked into it myself, probably easier from below by removing the undertray
did you have 2 or 1 original horn in your car

As I sad in the video, I started with a small bit, drilling straight down and moved onto to bigger bits until it was right.
if you just replace only one and will it work
cn you just replace only one and will it work

Also if it helps anyone on the penny's...copy and paste the horn description on ebay..found the same ones for 6.79 🤪
How do I update my satvav?
Depends which unit you have, if there's an SD card slot by the cd input then you can buy a new SD card off eBay.
If not then you can update via WiFi
@@TheQashqaiGuy Most grateful. There is an SD card next to the CD slot. Do I need a particular brand of SD card or any would do?
A peeper or a paarper
First to watch ⭐️
Dan as your the gadget guy your using old fashioned screwdrivers the in thing today is a powered driver …..
