Today, an oncoming vehicle collided with my car and smashed my wing mirror. The garage managed to get it back on, but I need glass and an indicator. They've quoted me £60 for the mirror (gasp) and £90 for the indicator + pittance for the labour. Totally amazed at the ridiculous cost of the mirror so figured I'd do some research. Found this video and have to say, BRAVO man. You've given me confidence to attempt my own repair and at the same time, upgrade to even cooler turn signals. Those look great and three times cheaper than a single Nissan part. Thank you!! Subscribed!
Just fitted the smoked version to ink blue j11 qashqai, took about 1h 30, couldn't have done it without your video. They are 100% better than originals and also fit better. Great upgrade, Cheers 🙂👍
Just fitted some lovely dynamic indicators after my driver’s side indicator was broken by an oncoming vehicle. Had thought about doing this for a while, but put off by the apparent complexity of the process. Actually, it wasn’t that hard at all. Best way of removing the mirror is to angle it down and then get your fingers behind and pull. It pops off quite easily if you’re firm but gentle. Then lever the painted mirror cap carefully off the back of the mirror. You can just get to the two screws holding the indicator in place so no further disassembly is required. Refitting is obviously the reverse of the process. Simple really!
Fitted mine today. As suggested it was a little fiddly getting the first glass out but your directions were excellent. Very pleased with the new Dynamic wing mirror lights. Was going to replace a damaged original with a like for like but was tempted by the look and price of the Dynamic ones. So pleased I came across your video and had my mind changed, they look great. Thanks so much for taking the time to show others how to replace them.
Just done this job to my qashqai, looks brilliant, I wouldn’t have attempted it without your video, they look the bees! Mine is a 2016 and my mirrors literally flicked off in seconds, not a struggle at all, and that was the part I was dreading. Thanks for these videos they are brilliant👍👍

Thanks for the tutorial. I actually managed this without taking out the motor. The torque driver size is T10 by the way. It's not that difficult a process, you just need to go carefully. Did one wing mirror in an hour.
Good video I did mine today and this helped a lot about 50 minutes ffirst one but only 15 minutes to do the second, I am going to do the wifes Juke net
all done today, although I couldn't get mine fully off at the side nearest the car, but managed to worm the indicator out and the new one back in, thanks

They look so nice. I found this upgrade a couple of years back and installed them then, and on my new QQ as well. I was the first so no YT tutorial on how to remove the mirror glass and cover so I feel absolutely how scary it is the first time :))) They are great and indeed much safer. I think you could made the fit a bit better by resetting the cover. I think it didn't clipped well in place on the most interior part, close to the door and so leaves a small gap where the indicator starts and also at the end. Just try to fiddle it a bit better in place, without demounting anything. Cheers
I have just done this upgrade, if you don’t take the camera as well, the middle clips on the lower part of the wing mirror case are really hard to get off. I ended up snapping them as they are extremely hard to get to.
I am glad that you actually say in the video about the indicators now being brighter, thereby safer, as this will allow me to sell this one to my wife, "More stuff for the car! When are you going to stop?" "But it's safer, this is a safety issue..." I am afraid Dan I would have to say that is down to Dan, depends on what he fits next... LOL. Sorry. Today my 'Bug Catcher/Deflector' and a chrome enhancement for under the main grille arrived. Cleaned the car today, all being well, if temperature is good enough, I will be fitting them tomorrow. Got them both from E-Bay, Autoline Accessories, based in Stafford. Should have been with me on Thursday but arrived today by Royal Mail.

I just pull the mirror out with my hands. Dip the mirror down, stick in your fingers in and pull. The plastic casing of the back of the mirror protects it for braking. I think it took about 30 minutes to do the two of them. Just sold my qashqai someone is gonna have a very nice car with this these on.. plus ground lights plus dvd headrest, side steps, LED indicator strips built into the front lights that match the sequence of the mirror indicators. Silver styling plates Front and back, alloy protectors, nissan mud guards, full size spare wheel... I have just bought an x-trail so have to buy and fit all again 😢
Just been looking at Qashqai accessories and on the 2017+ shape, the aerial has the fin. But for the 2014-2016 shape, it has a standard aerial. The fin for this shape says it doesn't support DAB radio. Any ideas about this mod?
Hi Ollie. I have a 2016 Tekna, it had the standard aerial. I replaced it with one of these from ebay....it works perfectly on DAB, FM and AM. Go into the secret menu of the car, check the signal strength of DAB, FM and AM. Then unscrew the antenna and check again.....I found the DAB signal was the same with the antenna screwed in, or removed. FM and AM signal was much lower. Fitted this shark fin and it works perfectly on all bands www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123875056002
Just for info, so others are aware of what can go wrong here... i bought the indicators you show here from Amazon, installed one of them, and initially it worked ok, but then the car wouldn't start, the wong mirrors wouldn't fold out, and the car is reporting system error. And now the center console has gone dark. Somehow the new indicator took out the cars control electronics, and i'm not f'ing happy about it! :( You're guide is good, and i'm not blaming you here, but people should be aware of the dangers.
They are not "a safer addition". Before anyone fits these, have a think about what another motorist would see if you are intending to pull out from the side of the road, move across a lane in slow traffic or what a passing driver on the motorway will see once they are in your blind spot and you are intending to manoeuvre into the next lane. The original indicators provide a very bright light on the tip of your wing mirror, easily seen, which is the whole point of wing mirror indicators. These do not. Once fitted, although very swish and modern looking, they fail to do the thing they are designed to do.
From the front, I agree, but from where they are designed to be seen, they are woeful. Perhaps you could upload a video from the viewpoint of other motorists, as I mentioned above?

I have recently fitted a new connect 4 system in my qashqai and am awaiting some tweeks before releasing a video on it.

Yeah it was the creaking I didn't like! But once you undo the top two it seems to pop off quite easy
