@@richardjones9513 Yeah I was at both the final week when the Packers beat the Broncos (which was a game experience unlike any other because of the entire crowd watching the luxury box since they were watching the Cards Vikes game, and reacting a split second after they started going nuts). Then the "we want the ball, we're gonna score" game. I met Nathan Poole walking around the stadium. He was loving the attention and love from us Packer fans.

As a Titans fan, I seem to recall that 2006 season finale ended up working out that every single thing that needed to happen to put the Titans in the playoffs happened, except for beating the Patriots.

The crazy thing with that 06' season.. my Titans had all the variables that needed to go their way, actually did. But unfortunately, they lost to the Patriots. Which killed their playoff hopes. Which opened the door for the Chiefs to sneak in.

In 2016, the Buccaneers needed 6 things to go their way in week 17 to make the playoffs. I believe 5 of them happened
As a bucs fan I was mad
One of those outcomes was the redskin and giants game had to end in a tie because either of them winning would have knocked them out. That by itself was a long shot.
As a bucs fan I remember that. However first game Eagles vs Cowboys didn't happen so we lost. (Kinda worth it tho since it was Romo final game)
4-8 Chargers has to win their last 4 games with a lot of help including winning week 17 against the Broncos to make it to the playoffs

When those Chargers were 5-8 they played at KC which was 2-11. The Chiefs kicker missed a 55-60 yard FG by inches on the last play of the game allowing the Chargers to win by one point. Had that kick been good the Chargers would have been eliminated in Week 15.
Let's all not forget that the Ravens, Bengals, and Steelers have two extra bye weeks

1993 Raiders should've been on this list. Major late game after that Dallas/Giants classic was Raiders/Broncos with the Raiders needing to win to make the playoffs. They came back from 30-13 down to tie it at 30 on the last play of regulation. Then survive Jason Elam missing a 40 yard FG in OT to win 33-30 and host the wild card...against the same Broncos a week later. And they blew them out in the second half, winning 42-24 after it was tied at 21 at halftime.
I’m a Cowboys fan, and the Eagles getting in this past year was crazy.
I still remember that Cardinals game. I can still hear Greg Gumbel coming back from commercial break and saying that the Cardinals had recovered the onesides kick while showing the scoreboard. I got so excited and jumped up and down when that TD was scored.
No matter the sport, gotta love a good bit of final day drama...

That 03' Cardinals knocking out the Vikings will always resonate with me lol. That upset was so shocking, at the time. And totally forgot the 08' Eagles needing all that help to get in, before waxing the Boys lol. Then made a run all the way to the NFC Championship, before losing a close one to the Cardinals. Not 1, but 2 wild card teams made the conference championship that year.

Where’s the 2013 Chargers? They needed to win, a Dolphins loss and ravens loss. Dolphins lost at home against the Geno Smith led jets and the ravens lost to the Bengals. Chargers beat the Chase Daniel led chiefs in SD on a blocked FG at the end. Later on the FG was said to supposed to have been penalized for loading everyone on one side of the line. Just crazy

2006 season was crazy,& tragic for Denver. Jake Plummer led us to 13-3 in '05,& beating New England-Bradys 1st ever playoff loss. Pittsburgh killed us in AFC title game. But in '06 we were 7-2, up 24-7 mid 3rd vs a real good San Diego. Al Wilson gets hurt..LT runs crazy,& lose 35-27. 1 more at KC. 7-4, Shannahan replaces Plummer, with rookie Jay Cutler. I was fine with it then, mistake in hindsight.
All came down to that last game vs SF, on New Years Eve, as they said. 49ers had like 5 or 6 wins. I wasnt in my normal 3rd level seats, but sitting with friends, like 8 rows from the field. We had a promising 2nd year cb, & return guy-Darrent Williams of Oklahoma St. Big part of AFC title game team as a rookie,& thought would be an elite player soon. He had a very rough day, especially in their comeback. I was like 29,& still, drank like a fool at the games-8 years sober now. I yelled a lot of stuff, some at him. After the game it was dead quiet, but I screamed something, as he left the field. He had to hear, but didnt react. It wasnt anything vulgar or foul, but akin to "thanks for costing us the playoffs guy."
But whatever I said,& how pissed about the loss I was later that night, it instantly no longer mattered. When we heard he was shot to death, early New Years Day. Out with teamates/friends at some Denver club. Apparently, Brandon Marshall's (good wr-had like 22 catches in a game for us,& now on FS1, I think) cousin started shit with some gang members..who knows..showed em up in front of some chicks...whatever. But over some total bs, this man is dead. Made me feel pretty bad,& definitely put sports more in perspective. Kinda like last March, when the Pandemic cancelled sports for awhile.

My favorite week 17 do or die matchup was in 1997 between the Lions and Jets. Both teams were in a win and you're in lose and your through scenario. But what made it unique is they were playing for 2 different playoff spots since the Jets are in the AFC and the Lions are in the NFC. I've never seen that scenario before or since. That was also the game where Barry Sanders went over 2000 yards for the season.

One of the craziest scenarios that I remember very well was how the Packers won the division and got into the playoffs back in 2003 when Nate Poole made a game-winning touchdown catch with no time left on a 4th & 24 play and at that time, the force out rule was around so when that happened I knew it would hold up and that rule lasted until 2008. That is a day both Packers and Vikings fans will never forget. Perhaps the Vikings giving up a 4th & 24 play was an omen for the Packers because two weeks later in the divisional round, they gave up a 4th & 26 play to Freddie Mitchell which ended up costing them a victory against the Eagles and the chance to advance to the NFC Championship game against the Panthers. Still surreal to this day.
