- A primary school in Newham has teamed up with a professional filmmaker to make a music video about the cost of living crisis and London Living Wage.
St Antony’s Catholic Primary School is in one of the most deprived boroughs in London where a quarter of its pupils receive free school meals and a third of their parents work two jobs to make ends meet.
Filmmaker Saloum N’jie, who has two children at the school, has worked on TV shows including Bridgerton and Luther.
The school are passionate about change and, as part of their work with Citizens UK, have campaigned for several local employers to pay the real Living Wage.

Thank you BBC London for featuring our song ‘LOOK TO THE SKY’ and our pupils campaigning for the Living Wage. Check out our page for the full video 🙏🙏🙏
I agree :)
Shame on government are paying for the war but citizens staving!
Great to see this - but I feel like the disproportionate impact on ethnic minority community has been erased. It is strange having an almost all non-white video, but then not speaking about inequalities.
What
Erased? It's all we ever hear about.
@@caesargaming42 how is that
Does it really matter about the colour or creed ,sing is not about race , shouldn't be brought into it
@@kevindunne6832 I agree but there are alot of racist and stereotype people who don't see black and Asians alot and here about gangs on the news and think Asians and blacks are all gang members

Its not their fault Chavs dont turn up to school.
Its gotten to the point where as an immigrant myself despite not having acted like an animal and having integrated here and respected all the social rules and customs after being raised here, I actually feel guilty and ashamed of myself and other immigrants, maybe its because my home country and its population is hyper nationalistic and homogenous, and seeing what's been done to this country makes even MY blood boil as a foreigner.
