Shumai is a Chinese dumpling, just like Harumaki (Maki Roll in English version) is a Japanese spring roll, so Kokichi is using Kaito's way to give a nickname to Shuichi there.
Finally someone who understands! Though I thought Kokichi would’ve used “sushi” instead of “shumai” since sushi is a Japanese food and shumai is a Chinese food.

literally almost everything Ouma says is important, so my advice is to pay attention to anything that seems even the smallest bit strange, since I've noticed he likes dropping hints at whatever secrets he's keeping.

One complaint that I had about this trial is that it took way too long for the people to catch onto the fact that the world loops.
BreadAssassin while this is my favorite Class Trial in the whole series. Them figuring out how the world works takes too long this was my exact problem with SDR2 CH4 Class Trial as well.
Agreed. All of this was annoying the hell out of me, so I'm glad that you enjoyed it, jtalkalot19, but I personally detest this class trial the most. Also because we spent waaaaay too much time on a murder that never happened.

Jency Victor, of course, that's true and it was necessary to uncover the truth. But as I said: it could've lasted shorter, I think. It was important to the trial, but I personally got tired of it pretty quickly.

I feel like a lot of people miss the subtext in this chapter. Kokichi intentionally emphasizes throughout the chapter that Shuichi does most of the work in the trials. So Kaito feels he has to step up more to prove Kokichi wrong, and that all his talk about teamwork, and telling Shuichi to rely on others more isn't just bluster. Of course, Shuichi still has to do his thing as ultimate detective, thereby driving a wedge into their alliance.

I remember when i saw that Sonic the Hedgehog reference, Sonic twitter account answer with a little voice message, it was just when they were making his annual Twitter take over thingy , by answering messages from fans and stuff, it was fun to notice the Danganronpa reference in there. Also about Korikiyo death portrait, i think it is like that because it symbolize that fact that he became a ghost... and then he was exorcise.

I mean yes I agree but think about it, He spends almost every waking moment with someone and has made friends with the ultimate assassin who he hangs out with every night. He's never an open target honestly lol. The best opportunity would be his room at night, but he's good at keeping his door locked (unlike the previous two protagonists)

This entire trial was a bit too easy to figure out. Every component of the trial was easy to figure out with the evidence alone, except for Gonta’s motive.

Kinda late but where could Miu hit Kokichi with the hammer that would reflect poisoning in the real world?
Maybe the eyes. Smashing an avatar in the eyes with a hammer might cause the body to rush extra blood over to try and scab over the expected wounds. But who knows, maybe your eyes go bloodshot if you receive blunt force trauma.
Or maybe, she didn't think that far ahead. That could be it too.

Can someone explain to me how Miu's plan actually would've succeeded if she actually did kill Kokichi? Yeah, she could've lied about the Virtual World's settings all she wanted but the poison she chose clearly listed bloodshot eyes as a side effect. All Shuichi would have to do is remove Kokichi's helmet to check for bloodshot eyes and her plan would've started crumbling. Am I over analyzing things?

WinterSnow 99 I think that even though the eyes weren't bloodshot, it wouldn't be enough to make a pretty solid accusation for Miu. As long as she had Total control over Virtual World, she could've lied as much, as she wanted, and I think that crew wouldn't be able to get to the right answer, unless she slipped something incriminating to her
Besides the bloodshot eyes thing, I think she made a mistake choosing Kaito as a scapegoat. But this is solely based off of his close relationship with Shuichi and Maki. Obviously, no matter the lack of evidence, both of them would stand up for Kaito and both (especially Maki) would probably easily intimidate Miu into screwing up.
I imagine attacking someone with a hammer might make them get bloodshot eyes. I won't go into details tho

I'm guessing Rantaro would be the nagito of the class trial, he doesn't fuck everything up completely but he says weird shit and stir suspicion towards him for no good reason. He'd probably also empathise the fact that he'd been in a killing game before without actually saying he'd been in one before. He'd make it obvious, but not obvious enough that'd it'd be almost to solvable. I feel like he'd be a good liar, he'd probably team up with Kokichi a lot and they'd make shit happen in the trial if it was getting to 'boring.' He'd probably be the type to laugh at other people's failure as well, not in a mean way but in a more so 'Damn, you didn't get it right. Better luck next time!'
Twogami would probably act almost identical to Togami since he's the 'Ultimate impostor' he'd probably be a little nicer though, he also wouldn't go off on his own and not help out with investigation. He'd also probably be one of the first people to jump to conclusions and try to figure everything out to fast.
As for Sayaka, she'd probably be the type to be calm and collected in situations like this. She'd probably be dying on the inside but she'd try to keep herself composed throughout the whole class trial. She seems like she's good at reading people so she'd more then likely use that as a means of finding the culprite. She'd also be a good liar, she wouldn't lie often but if she did it'd probably be almost to believable.
This trial would have been so easy is Chiaki was there to explain the concept of screen wrapping to them
Is it weird that I straight away guessed this entire trial but I had trouble with.. for example. Ryoma's trial. I think I pay too much rapt attention to Gonta
As soon as the game made a point about talking about the two different cords AND THEN himiko needed to remind herself which direction was which. I KNEW RIGHT THEN THEY WERE GOING TO FRICKIN MAKE GONTA LEFT HANDED OR SOMETHING AND MAKE HIM CONFUSEDLY DEFEND SOMEONE AND NOT REMEMBER WHEN A BODY SHOWED UP.

There are obvious connections between this trial and the other 4th trials from the first two games, but there is an astounding connection to the *first* trails from the first two games:
DR1: Sayaka and Miu originally planned a murder but got killed
DR2: Kokichi and Teruteru knew about Nagito and Miu's plans and tried to stop them
Ok, I've been waiting for you to make a new let's play and I want to address you that I have some theories
1. The new rule- one of the rules is that there will only be two survivors that will graduate after the other 14 people are dead, I don't think that this rule has been put before because they just put that only one will survive. But I think this rule is put there in the V3 because an incident where only two remain have happened before, if it did, it may have come with a price.
2. The other survivor- As mentioned on the first theory, we see that everybody got killed except for a boy and a girl. And we don't have the lucky student in V3 and Rantaro forgot his talent and he knows about the killing game as if he's been there before, so my theory is that in the next game there will be a girl who is also the survivor.
I hope that these theories are good enough, I may have more of them so I'll comment them when you make a new let's play. Take care~ :3

You mention in a previous video that Tojo is voiced by 2B. Which is true seeing that Tojo is voiced by Kira Buckland. Who voiced 2B and also voiced Hiyoko. On the topic of voice acting you notice that a lot of characters that voiced in previous Danganronpa games are also voicing in this game. Kaito is voiced by Kyle Hebert who voiced Kazuichi. And Maki is voiced by Erica Mendez who voiced Nagisa. Might just be a hint and a joke about how the games “aren’t related”.

In retrospect, I think the mystery of Miu Iruma's death is a fair play whodunnit. It's possible to deduce the culprit before the trial if you try hard enough.

Kokichi is suspicious as hell and will pick up the instant anyone lies. Maybe Shuichi is the better target but I doubt she'd fear him the way she does Kokichi. He seemed to always have her number in trials, at least.
