I have used BDPS 2190 Philips Bluray Player with this unit .I tested with Bluray DVD discs and downloaded movie clips via USB Play back. All most all 7.1/5.1 audio format was decoded by this unit apart from EAC3 5.1.Quality of audio out from this unit is nice , really this device helps us to set up a budget friendly 7.1 home theater set up.

LG BDPS 420 Bluray DVD Player is working perfectly with this decoder .Some of the Dolby 5.1 files mostly less than 500 Kb/s are downscaled as Stereo 2 channel audio ,I think its because of the Player decodes in that way.DTS, AAC 5.1 files are working with no issues . Laptop - HDMI 7.1 Decoder - 7.1/5.1 AMPLIFIER ( Home theater ) set up is giving a fantastic performance without any compromises .

Does this product decode True HD and HD master sources to linear PCM? If it only outputs a lower quality compressed format then it is useless. The marketing seems to suggest that it does output LPCM, but often marketing is purposely deceptive.
