I came to bike racing late in life . 33 year old in 1985 . I was lucky that I wound up working in Silicone Valley. I got to race George in his come back years say 89 to 92 . It was a real great time racing Criteriums and Track ( The Hellyer Park Track ) He was like most of us working full time and keeping in shape . I really only heard that he had Raced the Giro . Thanks for filling all the rest in .
Man, before this I had only heard George Mount talk on the DVD about the Red Zinger/Coors Classic race. And I thought he was just a big mouth "fool." But shit, he's a pretty good story teller (and I don't mean I think he's a BSer). The stories he told are interesting AF, and I'd LOVE to have him go on some 2hr+ bike podcast. I think he just calls it like he sees it. Very good interview. My only criticism is its short length -- which isn't really a valid criticism. 🍻
I raced '73 to '76 in Dallas, TX. Glad I raced at that time, and it was the time of my life.

Great stories!
Loved watching George in Boulder!
Loved hearing this and am looking forward to George's Red Kite Prayer articles!
