Do you think some spaghnum moss inside the log would maybe help with the bloom lasting longer? That's an awfully short time to bloom. Or do you think it's just the genetics of the individual?
That is a great thought, but I lean more towards the genetic aspect. I actually had some sphagnum in the center at one time, but it stayed too wet during the growing season in my very humid environment. The root tips didn’t like it and seemed to be dying back - I’m guessing because the wet/dry cycle Tolumnias prefer was thrown off.
Beautiful little blooms. It’s a pity they don’t last a bit longer.
