Wow Dana, that is such a gorgeous paph, so rich in colour and well worth waiting for. I’m often tempted to try my hand at growing another paph but after my dismal effort some years ago I feel a bit reluctant. Your orchid is stunning and thank you for introducing it to us.
I have this Paph too. Here in Europe this hybride is mainly called 'Black Jack'. My plant has dark almost burgundy, shiny leaves. When it flowered last year I tried to make a photo, the orchid dropped and the flower broke off 🤦♀
I googled that name and it seems there are several varieties/crosses that have been given the name ‘Black Jack’ because of the solid, deep color of the bloom. I hate when accidents like that happen with orchids! They are resilient and so fragile at the same time! Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much! It was a fluke, really. I often buy locally at Orchids Express and Leasing (near Houston Heights area). This orchid was out of bloom and cast to the side with the pitiful looking orchids they probably thought would not sell. It was the best looking plant of the Paphs they had left, so I bought it on a whim, thinking it still looked healthy enough. Have not seen one since.
Fabulous color! Gorgeous plant ♥️
Thanks so much! 😊
Gorgeous bloom.
Thank you so much and thanks for watching! Some don’t care for the blooms, but I think they are very unique.
Sooo beautiful! Thank you
Thanks for watching! ☺️

Thanks, Renate… I think you should give one another go! So similar to indoor Phal growing with possibly a slight adjustment to the media.
