    One of the cattleyas I got from my recent online haul was the Cattleya Lacey Michelle Matherne (1765)
    (Cattleya tigrina 'Paul' AM/AOS x Cattleya aclandiae 'Krull's Black Ride') from Krull-Smith.
    After researching the species, this video showed up in the search results.
    I like the compact growth and it started two new roots after I repotted it.
    I have it directly in an orchid pot with medium size bark, charcoal, and large perlite.
    I also have the Cattleya Small World x Bc. Richard Mueller which is (Cattleya aclandiae × Cattleya luteola) and (Brassavola nodosa × Cattleya milleri).

      @@NicoleDeanna I just uploaded a video with descriptions of each orchid. I placed all of them in an eastern facing porch today to see how they do. I'm too scared to have them outside. 😅

    The bifoliate cattleya are so cute they remind me of giant sprouts with their two leaves.

    I love aclandiaes and their hybrids!! One of my favorite cattleyas!!! You have some beautiful hybrids especially that jungle eyes one!! My favorite hybrid is the fascelis as it was one of the first orchids I bought other than bag babies and it was at my very first orchid show so the hybrid always has a special place for me. I also love the rambling nature but I grow outside so I just let them ramble haha!

    Hi Nicole. I have C. Peckhaviensis. One is planted in a nest pot hanging in a south window. The other one is in a clay pot under grow lights. Neither one has bloomed for me, but have vigorously grown. I heard they are difficult to bloom. Your orchids are beautiful. 🥰💐

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  6 месяцев назад

      I hope it blooms for you soon! I haven't had problems with the Fascelis or the Jungle eyes so perhaps its the Schilleriana parent is the difficult one. I found an article that Alan Koch did a lecture on the C. Schilleriana and shared that the Peckaviensis doesn't have stomata on its leaves but roots, so encourages growing that one bare root / extremely airy chunky mix that so that it can breathe. With that said, I don't have this orchid but that's what I read about it, and that's where we hope the hole 'hybrid vigor' comes into play and provides easier conditions for us that help us out in our home enviroments. Keep me posted on your C. Peckaviensis!! Hopefully this spring it happens for us.

    I don't recall seeing the Aclandiae orchids before. They sure are pretty! I'm wondering if you would be so kind as to tell me the distance you have between your shelves.

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Eileen! Depending on the shelves I have about 1.5 FT to 3 FT between them. The spike producing lights have more space about 3FT I believe, the regular ones are 1.5FT to 2FT of distance. I hope this helps!

    Good video, thanks. Some people put moss on the top to prevent the bark from falling out, moss on the bottom will decompose faster due to humidity, will this not affect the plant later?

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  5 месяцев назад

      It will definitely decompose faster. I use AAA moss, and I find that it isn't too bad if I repot every 2-3 years it will not negatively affect the plant too much. The higher the quality of the moss, the slower the break down, at least that's what I've noticed, at the two year mark I don't smell it off or anything. Thanks for watching!

    Interesting orchids. Thanks for sharing. I’m interested to hear how you got your purchases at Tamiana back to NY. Did you drive or take them on a plane? I live in TX and am hoping to go to one of the FL shows and wondering how to get my plants home.

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  6 месяцев назад +1

      I took them on a plane, check out my video from October 2021 and I think I showed how I carried them in a tote and just put them under my seat on the plane. I got mostly seedlings because I didn't want to carry anything too big :)

    Where did you get the cattleya seedlings they are beautiful.

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  6 месяцев назад +1

      The Fascelis and Aclandiae came from the Tamiami Orchid festival, I purchased them in person
      The Peckaviensis came from Sunset Valley Orchids
      Jungle Eyes, Small World and Hippodamia came from Gold County Orchids
