Such a great storyteller and so classy. He is very honest, kind, engaging and very classy with how he carries himself and responds. Whoever that man was in the audience who stated that he did not respect him as a actor because all he does in film is shooting and killing other than this recent film this man although entitled to his opinion was insulting to one of the finest American storytellers try Papillion, Great Escape, Cincinnati Kid, Thomas Crown Affair, etc. Brilliant actor with class ❤❤❤❤❤

The guy was my hero, hard man but a good man he didn't take any BS but was also kind and charitable. I read he use to have clauses added to contracts for 100 pair of jeans, 50 bike's etc etc...and these were all donated to the Boys Republic school he attended and he use to go and give them talks. 100% American hero...still miss him to this day..RIP Steve.

I was headed to that school he attended but by the grace of God I went another direction. But I still admire Steve because of his early life.

Steve shows that there is no shame on where you have come from it's what you do with your life that counts. Strangely enough, the more twists & turns the more you learn. Steve was amongst the best!

I'm writing this on 12/17/23 and AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE is currently available here on RUclips Movies & TV. It's really an excellent production. McQueen is excellent -- in fact, the entire cast is fantastic. Great "little" production and I highly recommend it.

Wish they’d asked him more about his other big hits instead of a film very few have seen.

I related to Steve because of his upbringing. I thought I had it bad until I read how rough it was for him.

During the production of "The Hunter " while filming in Chicago McQueen chose a young teenager to interview him . Turned out to be his last interview. The kid said McQueen was very nice and respectful toward him . Told him to stay in school and to get good education.
There is a story written about it I assume it's available online somewhere. Think Marshall Terell interviewed the kid .

Pity Steve McQueen died so young at 50 3 years later after this interview pity there wasn't a cure for cancer in 1980 because Steve McQueen had 30 to 35 years lelf in him at least. It would have been interesting to see how Steve McQueen would have got on in 1980's

No, he rarely gave interviews especially of this length and with such detail regarding the film making process. I also have some Richard Todd interviews posted which might be of interest to you.

Steve McQueen loved his privacy. After Towering Inferno, he pretty much lost interest in acting and made this movie simply to prove he can be more than just an action star and First Artists pressuring him to make a movie due to a deal he made with them. Of course around this time, his cancer was starting to kick in.

@@michaelsix9684 he definitely did a very good job hiding his soft side McQueen. If he didn’t go to reform school, who knows what he might’ve became.
