How long is the line? I helped rebuild and operate an 11 mile standard gauge line for 40 years. Next time I am down under, I will make sure to come by and see y'all. Love the trains.
What's the business throwing switches? It looks like you're throwing the points separately. if it's that hard to do a "split" switch, maybe an old-fashioned stub switch would do?
I'm not sure what you mean by "throwing the points separately" but, yes, the blades on one set are being moved manually. They are, simply, waiting for the point lever to be fitted as they have just being installed and testing is continuing with different locos.
@@BelbinVideo That's pretty much what I assumed was happening when I saw you unthreading the point and re threading the usable one. Can't do it all at once so might as well get some use out of it anyway.
awsome collection and a great video all round
All I see is a bunch of big kids playing with their trains. I love this so much. When are you guys planning on sharing your toys with the public?
Unfortunately the regulations required to be public are too complex, and expensive, to ever do so.
@@BelbinVideo Keep sharing the work with your videos! Please. It's awesome and really nice to watch.
This is an amazing railway, I could play on that for days on end.

The wheel slip looked cool
The locomotive looks like new ! 😊👍🏻
Well done guys.❤.show us more of what stock you have. Good to see more track down😅😊
Thanks for the video enjoyed all😄
Who here believes that their should be OO9 scale models of the locomotives on the Mandalong Valley Tramway, because I do.

Nice to see Fairymead back in one piece! Hopefully a proper repaint will come next? She's looking a bit filthy.

Fantastic railroad. The engine looks like Ward Kimball s little steamer.
Yes, very similar to Ward's loco. He (and Gerry Best) were very helpful providing information when I first purchased the remains of Fairymead.
Wow, you guys know how to get Ivy up the hill. I can also see you found to passenger coaches.
It was quite an exercise. Yes, although the carriages need a fair bit of work.
@@BelbinVideo Just keep trying!
Reminds me of smokey mtn near warnervale when i was a kid
Andrew, we have the Warnervale engines there and a 12 inch gauge line is underway.
Super film - Like!
Thankyou, glad you enjoyed it.
Everything done with beer is done better
And as I well discovered the hard way when I lived in Australia for a year, one of theirs is the same as three U.S. beers.😮
Alcohol period😭🤣

It will, eventually, be around 800 metres of main line. What line did you work on?
Fairymead ❤

"Just because we're small"
They can't use sand for climb this? Only i ask of my ignorance, i don't know if the steamer Baldwin uses a sandome.
(Sorry grammar: im from Argentina)
Hi leonardo, we use a bit of sand occasionally, just thrown on, but with light loads we don't need it much. Thanks for your kind comments.
It looks like you need engine sheds for your locomotives. Including a turntable.
Yes, all part of the plan.
@@BelbinVideo Good thinking.
Nice toy for kids
American steam trains in Australia are cool
Have to agree with you busterbrown.
Hi
How do I helped to private railway im newcastle
What is the max grade she’s able to pull full load of passenger cars?

You should add more ballast to your track. But anyway how wide is your RR?
Do you think? It's moderately wide. Gauge is 2 feet.
Where did you get the rail ? Can't seem to find anything that small like you have for your RR 😉
Wonderful! Thank you to share it! AAA +++ 🌱.•*°*•.🌱 SUPER ! 🌱.•*°*•.🌱 +++ AAA
Hey Graeme, are your fathers locos up there or still in the blue mountains?
The locos that were up at East Kurrajong were dispersed to various places in the late 1970s.
the slipping gave the rails a polish which will help with traction
Ivy should fly up the hill? What is the issue with it?
Yes, it has many times. Just a few steaming issues, common after a fresh restoration.
What gauge is the track? It looks about 2 feet.
Yes, 2 foot gauge.
