All over the World Gurkhas get Special respect for their History of Bravery of our forefathers except in the State of West Bengal, Darjeeling.... where most of the Gurkha Soldiers had got enlisted for the British-India at a place called Jalapahar-Ghum, Darjeeling during the British Raaj....

It was established for the potential recruits from eastern Nepal , likewise there were gorkha recruiting depot in gorakhpur and dehradhun for potential recruits from central and western Nepal.

This bond has been strengthened even more by the lives sacrificed in the service by all the gorkhas. Hope the gorkhas are never made to feel alien or separate from other service men.
