Does Ariens have a torque spec on theirs? I wonder if that fix will be done on new Ariens Razor lawn mowers? Great content and editing as usual JB! Are you going to be doing a video on how often you should mow your lawn? Maybe how low you should go? Maybe cutting mowing forward opposed to mowing backwards? Some people don't think it matters if you mow forward and then pull the lawnmower backwards the next pass instead of turning the mower and pushing it forward. Also, should you mow fast or slow when mowing? Does it depend on time of year or how high the growth is? I believe that I've given you enough content for a whole video. I hope you are having a great summer JB. Thanks for your time and videos.

What is your best recommendation for a lawn mower that bags clippings 100%, gas or battery? I am looking to buy a new mower and cannot find any ratings on bagging the clippings. My craftsman is constantly clogging at the throat I am sick of it. With the bag 1/5 full clogs, I have to stop the mower, clear the clog, this doubles my mowing time easily, thanks.
But will the extra room in that bracket make it easier to throw the belt? I had a Toro that kept dumping the belt off that pulley. Another option might be a spring which when the handle is released returns the transmission to a relaxed position.
I guess the obvious question is Ariens giving the reverse anti kit to customers with no charge? I also occasionally have the same problem with my toro my experience with this is to push the lawnmower in opposite direction that usually reliefs the pressure. Great catch with torquing the plastic bolts that would have been very frustrating, I’m also very careful in torquing aluminum soft metals can have severe consequences when torquing. Great vids very informative, thx👍
I need a new a mower soon and have narrowed my choices down to this mower or a Super Recycler. Since we already know the Toro cuts, mulches and bags well, I’m wondering how this Ariens does. Having stripped a bolt with my torque wrench on a water pump, I think the problem may have been you didn't notice the "click" of the torque wrench. The bolt I stripped was 96 in-lbs which is 8 ft-lbs. It's such a light torque i didn't even notice, especially with such a long lever. 25 in-lbs is only 2 ft-lbs! A tip for the gas tank and leaning it on the side. Put a piece of plastic like window plastic or a zip lock bag over the gas tank opening then put the cap on and close it. This traps it all in when you put the mower on its side. Handy little trick.

Why hasnt anyone made a stand on lawnmower that looks like Axel from Twisted Metal?
@@BackToTheGame.98 RIGHT??? That would be amazing! 👍👍
With the bolt torque issues you had being too high on those plastic parts, this mower still stinks of an inexperienced engineering team and poor manager who approved this design. I’ll stick to my old Toros.
I’m just cutting grass. Not flying to the moon. A Toro is a very good machine for that purpose. I own a battery powered Toro and it performs very well. Ariana makes nice snowblowers and not much else
Those old toros are gems GBP👍
So What was your " Inch pound rating" ? I trust you over the suits.
@@tempusveritas8901 “snug” is my rating lol! I’m no engineer and don’t have a good guess for what the numbers should be. Thanks for watching tempus!
you have an airens conect now pls ask of u can get a that old white plaque u want to keep on the 1960s snowblower
@@mohedaicebear that’s a great idea👍
Honestly, outside of Snowblowers and a few select commercial grade pieces of equipment, it is wise to stay away from any of Ariens other products. The other things they make are okay at best, but are easily outclassed by competitors like Honda and Toro.
@@TecumsehRulesbcserk hey BCSERK, this came up in discussion with them. I mentioned they should make a higher end mower that is only available to dealers. Make less but ramp up the quality to their snowblower level and see what happens. We’ll see what they do going forward.
They used to have a great mower with the LM series. Used for 15 years before the Sachs engine broke a ring and ruined the cylinder. Picked up a used Snapper commercial and used it till 2015 when I got a Toro SR4. Gave the Snapper to my son and he is still using it.
Honda already quit mower business though, could be why Ariens is jumping back in, although the rocky start is unfortunate.
Honda out of lawnmower business & my opinion Toro hasn’t lived up to their reputation..
I think they need to either have a recall on that part to be fixed by a repair shop
Hey JB do you think something will be done about the rear discharge issues?
@@juan.rocha-gonzalez haven’t heard news about that. We’ll see what they do going forward.
I bought anAriens Razor lawnmower three years ago had nothing but problems with. Ariens was not that helpful for me. I ended up having to sell the goddamn thing and buy a Honda lawnmower.
@@michaelkoontz5383 thanks for sharing Michael! We’ll see what ariens does moving forward. 👍
@@GarageGear I was also told that Ariens doesn’t make lawn mowers they’re outsourced to Husqvarna
@@michaelkoontz5383 hey Michael they are outsourced to mexico. Husqvarna doesn’t make lawn mowers anymore
I considered purchasing an Ariens Razor until I learned B & S's Carborator is plastic. Deal breaker for me.
I heard they’re working g on something for this. We will see as time goes on
How is the Aaron's lawn mowers are they are bad or good to buy it
@@steveallen1547 hey Steve! This video will sum it up for you IS THE ARIENS RAZOR LAWN MOWER WORTH BUYING? (Brutally Honest Review)

Do I have an ariens? No.
Am I getting one? No.
Did I watch the whole video? Yes.
@@tylerist8 that’s why you ROCK mobile rave! 👍thanks for watching
@GarageGear I started watching your videos before I bought my hrx217 and since then your videos have felt therapeutic to watch, even if it doesn't pertain to me
@@tylerist8 very cool my friend! Glad these videos bring you as much joy as I get from working in my garage! 👍
Ariens, like most "U.S."companies, have really suffered from all the outsourcing of Chinese motors and parts
@@rlt1975 things have to change! 👍
How do I get that kit ? I have the exact same mower
@@Billej1965 hey Billie! Ariens sent me this to test out. I’m guessing this will be a warranty recall in the near future. 👍
Plastic screws? Really? WTF Ariens?
@@brucemitchell5637 correction… these are metal screws that go into plastic. What I should have said is that these are screws for plastic . Still too much plastic back there though Bruce!
That's going to be a big nope a dope...if Arien's can't fix it themselves why am I going to spend $600 on a mower
Thanks for sharing mark
Just back from vacation and I'm not going through all the responses so I'll ask.. Did you talk about their ugly, cheap looking tires? 🤨
@@edrodrigues5623 lol no we didn’t get into those. We talked a lot about engines, transmissions , and manufacturing!
