Did you guys know that Floor just opened for Metallica on the first night of their world tour (April 29th) at the Johan Cruijff Arena (over 50,000 fans) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She got a standing ovation after her show. Henk Poort even joined her for Phantom Of The Opera
Floor is my favorite female vocalist, but let's give Bruce Dickinson credit where due. After all, that man's been consistently rocking since before Floor was even born. Respect to those who paved the way for today's stars!

I think it is important to note that Floor wasn't even officially part of the band at the time of Wacken. Meaning none of the songs were originally written for her.
You may not be aware that floor and Bruce know each other. They both sing with Ayreon which is a prog metal project organised by Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Arjen write and composes concept albums and ropes in the best metal musicians and singers to present his work and has presented them on stage as, in effect, a metal musical. A basic introduction to his work is Ayreon's The Day The World Breaks Down with 11 repeat 11 of the best metal singers in the world.

So much fun for a festival closer. Floor not only has a tremendous voice but an incredible stage presence. Props to Bruce, but Floor is the bomb.

Floor is my favorite as well. Despite of her performance she is just so humble and down to earth. Her power is infecious. As her body movements and her outfit and stage presence and charisma and versatility and open arms, and her smiling ....and ... and ...last but not least the sound of her vocals. I am done. and biased for sure.

Alice Cooper was the band before Nightwish. He is awesome live, but I bet he was happy he didn't have to follow them.
Youre right. No one went on after that. And guess who went of BEFORE THAT. Alice Cooper. Floor is the best. No doubt in my mind. Her diversity and ability to do so many things is unmatched. But I fear she may not win due to not being as known as some of the competition. But Floor is the G.O.A.T.

The best ending for a Nightwish concert now would be The Greatest Show on Earth. Most of their newer concerts end with TGSOE. As great as The Last Ride of the Day is, it wasn't even on my radar as far as my favorite Nightwish songs, that's how great their music catalog is.

I almost can't vote haha -- Bruce, my fave mail and Floor, my fave female, both are incredibly accomplished - honestly, I can't make the call -- but if gun to head, going with my heart instead of my head, FLOOR!
I have been fortunate enough to see both Nightwish and Iron Maiden live. They are two of the best live groups ever. I cannot choose between Floor and Bruce. They are amazing for what they each do. What they do is completely different. Bruce Dickenson and Iron Maiden are the epitome of British Heavy Metal. I've seen them over 10 times and its a family reunion every time I see them. Everyone in the audience knows each other. We see each other at every Maiden show. You guys have to make it a Maiden show. You'll be family as soon as you arrive.
Floor has the greatest vocal range since Freddie Mercury. Only Ronnie James Dio and Rob Halford (Judas Priest) come close to her. Nightwish has played for over two hours every time I've seen them. You are emotionally and physically exhausted by the end of it. They give off so much energy and the stage show is phenomenal. They play the US just about every year, so check them out if you have a chance. Or make it to Wacken where you'll see over 75,000 people singing every single word of every single song. Its on my bucket list of shows to attend.

Floor is to singing, what Bruce Lee is to martial arts. She utilizes multiple styles and techniques to really fill a song with life and character. And it allows her to be even more versatile with various genres of music. She is without a doubt an absolute powerhouse of a vocalist
Floor never breaks a sweat, because she has a huge fan infront of her. When they once forgot to turn it on....she broke a sweat, even before she started singing... Pure panic in her eyes..

Floor is a godess ! I would like to give you the tip to watch/listen to Nightwish with "shoemaker" live at Hellfest. It's unreal good.
This may be my favourite live performance of theirs. Everyone on stage is having a blast. To me it is the pinnacle of Nightwish 3.0

I have the DVD, this whole concert was mental. Arguably thier best performance. Like one of thise shows be you a fan or not that you wish you were there for, and regret missing out on life even if you've never heard of them LOL.

Floor Jansen at Wacken Open Air 2013 is just unmatched at any level of performance,stage presence,crowd interaction etc. And it doesnt hurt that shes the most gorgeous thing i have ever laied my eyes on!😍Its a reason why we jokingly have named her a Norse Viking Goddess. And i grew up with all the greats,i was heavy into Metallica and all of them. But Nightwish with Floor aboard? Come on man,it just hits you differently! This is theyr best lineup by far,and its really emotional for me still that Jukka the drumming Pirate has this as his absolute favourite song,and this was his last big official concert for them,before the insomnia forced him into a timeout,a long one. But its also kind of beautiful,how he got to end on the song he loves soo much.
Now granted,there is footage of him doing a 1 song return,when he felt good enough to do 1 song with them,and the band waited until it was time for Last Ride Of The Day,to have him come on. So his 1 song comeback,was also on his favourite song. Puts a tear to your eye,when you let it sink in.
No disrespect to Bruce,i consider him a beast of a vocalist and his energy level is out of this world. But he has never pulled me in and kept me there,like Floor has. And its not an entire woman/man thing,i love Devin Townsend,Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell almost at the level of Floor,but only Devin is still among us sadly. I feel like Devin and Chester would be my hardest competitors up against Floor,making it more difficult for me to name a winner.
Main reason is how they perform,Chester also never had vocal lessons he was just a "make it or break it" type of vocalist,burning his vocal chords every concert for Linkin Park. Just the fact that he had the voice he had,pretty much self taught,makes me hold him higher then f.ex Bruce. I know Bruce could have beat Chester technically with ease,im not thrasing him by any means. But there is soo much more towards Chester,he had that spark that Bruce for me doesnt have. That personality,the realness,the loving and caring aura,and feeling every note he sang.
I wish Bruce got me like that,as for the record i love Iron Maiden and my favourite song being Fear Of The Dark,preferably live from Argentina,where the crowd creates this insane extra sound to the song. Im seriously impressed by how long they have kept it going too,they have my outmost respect! Floor Jansen is just the complete package,i even consider her above Freddie Mercury and that has stirred up alot of people. Hey they love theyr Freddie like i love my Floor,at least i respect theyr personal taste in vocalists and music. Was it too much to ask for them to respect mine in return? Music is not religion nor politics,just a heads up.

She’s great. Truly. But Bruce Dickinson is an all time great and a iconic figure head of old metal culture - infact, one of the only old metal band singers who kept there voice.
Please check out some more symphonic metal from the Netherlands with another great female vocalist. Epica feat. Apocalyptica with Rivers live at AFAS. Mindblowing!!!

Loved the way Floor said "Kick Ass" about the DVD they made, but you guys were talking and probably missed it.
Some people say the version from Tampere was better, but it wasn't the last song. And didn't have Floor's little speech thanking the audience and have that KICK ASS!

I honestly think Bruce Dickinson is one of the best singers in the world, and not appreciated/recognized enough. However, I can't help but vote for Floor. No other singer, male or female, has ever made me feel the music like she does. And of course I am super biased. I have been listening to Floor since she started singing in After Forever back in the late nineties. I have been to many many concerts, and had the opportunity to talk with her afterwards several times. And she is so sweet, down to earth, modest and kind. I can't help but love her :)

Maybe I'm biased, but I honestly haven't heard a better vocalist ever in my life than Floor Jansen. There are some seriously legendary lead singers of iconic bands, but to this day I've never heard anyone like Floor. Truly the only person I can say is comparable would be Freddy Mercury.

I concur on many people's thoughts on Floor being the best female vocalist m At least current singer's. Claim for top5 best ever is even possibility.

Reason being that NW tends to have more bombastic shows in Europe where they get 60-200k crowd easily if there's space.
If you look at one of the most recent Nightwish concerts you will see Floor windmilling when seriously pregnant.
