- The body found at Lake Herrick at UGA was identified only as an August University nursing student. She reportedly went for a run along the trail and was later found dead.

I stil don’t trust run a anywhere now , but ladies carry pepper spray and be
aware of yur surroundings especially run with earphones on on high volume ,
after having several episodes when strange men followed me and tried to talk to me in a manner as if they were looking for someone to sleep with, I was absolutely terrified, one guy even flashed his penis all of a sudden, I bought a spray and a loud siren and stay home most of the time. When I really have to go outside I put a long skirt on and a top with long sleeves ever since, this seems to help. When they followed me, it was in broad daylight but on an empty street, I was wearing capri pants, once walking to a store, another time walking my neighbors’ small dog. And I'm just an average standard looking married woman, there is no reason to be bothering me. This is not a joke, ladies, be careful outside, it's better to stop using earphones at all, there are lots of crazy men out there nowadays.

My deepest condolences to this young lady and her family and friends. This is why all able bodied, law abiding citizens should really consider conceal carry. Anti-gunners always act like there is know reason to have to carry a gun outside your home, or in so called sensitive places. That's insane. There are true predators walking among us, and you should be able to give yourself the best chance to defend yourself, if you see fit. I appreciate the state of Georgia for at least being a state that doesn't try to stand in the way of most conceal carry possibilities. However, each individual has to way to risk and make up their own mind as to whether or not to carry a weapon. Yes we are entitled to safety, but that safety can not be guaranteed at all times. This is one of many reasons why the 2nd amendment says, shall not be infringed. Those willing should not be prohibited from exercising their 2nd amendment right.🙏

They found her pretty quick, once she was reported missing. No one is saying what time she went for her run. Was it very early? She was alone and ran thru a wooded area. How many women have been assaulted and murdered running alone? In the Dark? either Late at night or early in the morning? HOW many times must women be advised about such dangerous behavior? --- It has never happened around here, UNTIL it happened around here.
