The conversation about aphantasia was very interesting. I have some questions. I myself have to admit I don't see anything when I close my eyes and always believed that this is normal. When you see those mental images, do they move? Are they the same size as your normal field of vision? Are they in colour? Do they move or are they just images? Can you manipulate them? Adding stuff or removing things? Can you zoom in our out?
I know some people have an inner voice. I never heard a voice in my head not even my own thoughts. Is that a real thing too? Do people hear voices in there head when say inner voice? So many questions. I am on the spectrum and don't have an inner voice or see mental images. I am also face blind (I don't recognise people - even close family 😞) I really want to learn more about those things.
In some very rare occasions shortly after waking up I saw images and there where in colour and moving but much small than my normal field of vision.

I do have aphantasia, but I think I do every once in a while because I will go for a few hours where I can't picture it, but those moments feel odd, as they are not the normal for me.
Yeah, the images can be just as real as if you were there or if you were watching a movie depending how you think about it. If I am not "in the story" like thinking about the movie I don't have a full field of view (personally) but if it's me living it, I get the same view as if I were there.
I do have a voice it my head, it sounds like me (90% of the time, the other times are scarier).
I always wondered how people with aphantasia thought and figured things out as I often visual problems. For instance, we are about to pack for a short trip, and I am visually throwing clothes on my bed while I am thinking of what to pack, or thinking of where we are going and dressing us in my mind to figure out what we will need there. How do you make these lists without being able to see it in your mind?

@@melaniegilbert3226 I don't travel very often but when I do I need to see the clothes in fron of me and than I can think about how to combine them to outfits but I don't see myself in them as I don't really have an image of myself. I think in concepts so its more like: something for warm weather, cold weather, rain, etc.
