      Thanks for the support! I’m tying to grow this channel. I like comments like yours. Just need more people watching! Haha. But it’s getting there. I just started filming the 4 link video this morning. I think it will help you a lot!

    Thank you for the update. Also. Your videos on everything especially the axle rebuild ones have helped me convert to air lockers. Using the OX locker now. Please do not stop what you do

      Thanks for the support! I have no plans on stopping. Thanks for the support. Next week’s video will be an entertaining one as I have my kids do a bit of welding and actually unpack the voodoo behind setting up a custom triangulated 4 link.

      Thanks for the support! Next week I’ll have a video out on the 4 link set up. Going to unpack the voodoo behind doing a custom 4 link and getting the angles right.

    Hey Dan, I saw you in Trail Recons video when you were doing Top Of The World trail in Utah with the leaf spring Jeep you built for your friend. 👍🏻

    I did learn something. Your motor mounts clearing the exhaust manifold. VERY INTERESTING. Are those stock mounts or custom? Did I miss an episode on that?

    • @WarPaintOffroad
      @WarPaintOffroad  3 месяца назад

      Hey! So I made them. I just bought motor mount plates. Bolted those to the motor. Then used tabs with a piece of 2 inch DOM and poly bushings between them. Welded those to the frame and then notched a piece of 1.75 DOM so connect them. I put them where they are so I have room for my uppers in the front. Being a custom frame…no one makes mounts.

      Well that’s a huge compliment! I actually just was approached by his Agent…not sure it will amount to anything. But we will see.

    Not on this subject, but I was wondering. Can you do a spring over on a jeep, say like a yj?

    • @WarPaintOffroad
      @WarPaintOffroad  3 месяца назад +1

      For sure. Check out some of my other videos. When you do a spring over, technically you should change where the bracket is on the frame. That way your jeep ride nice. But it’s definitely possible in anything that has leaf springs.

      @WarPaintOffroad I was thinking I could, and I believe I saw that video. I think it was one of your buddies' jeep you done that on.

      @@jk_wrangler13exactly! As long as the shackles are angles correctly, you’ll have a good ride. Problem is people usually put a spring in with more of an arch for more lift and that usually makes the shackle more vertical. So they complain about the ride. But I have another friend with a K5 blazer that is on leaf’s with 16 inches of travel and it does great!

    Hi. What size is the LS engine?

    • @WarPaintOffroad
      @WarPaintOffroad  3 месяца назад +1

      Hey there! So the LS is a 4.8. Same block as a 5.3….just a 9mm shorter stroke and a flat top piston. Those are the only differences. The 4.8 with the shorter stroke does tend to make less power down low…but it’s minimal when you swap cams. And they do like turbos better than a 5.3…so that may be something that gets added in the future.

    • @TwoFeatherChannel
      @TwoFeatherChannel 3 месяца назад

      @@WarPaintOffroad I have a 5.3 in my 2002 Silverado with 400,000+ miles on it. those are great engines. my transmission went out in it in 2019, so it just sits there. I would like to put it in my JLUR when the 3.6 goes out but that would take a lot of extra doing with these highly electronically controlled these newer Jeeps have now days. unlike a TJ/LJ when you can drop one in and go.
