When training two people for just a courier job, I had to stop so they could throw up at the side of the road. This young lady is my hero for being jostled around a hundred times worse than those two guys had been, and keeping it all in.
It's idiotic to bother with the restraints without having a HANS device and a proper helmet. If they were ever involved in an accident, she'd have broken her neck and died instantly. Fortunately the guy driving is an expert, but for those riding with people who aren't, just something to think about.
People had accidents before HANS devices and didn't all instantly die. Yes, they help of course. To say you will die without one is nonsense. They prevent a certain direction of neck movement in a certain kind of impact.
think of the germans what you will. in building cars they have done an outstanding job ever since they invented the car back in 1886 or when it was. in this special case here ( porsche) we have walter röhrl setting up the cars. im sure if the motor sounded like an f1 car walter would slaw his fist ^^

I was thinking the same thing. Any passenger that is going for a full speed lap like these were should be afforded the same safety equipment that the driver gets. Especially the HANS device. She has weaker neck muscles and could have easily hurt herself with those G loads. This guy must be a sadist to put her through that.
Actually he is. You can see it under his right shoulder belt. Plus he's a seasoned racer and knows what to expect and his neck muscles are already strong enough and with his hands on the wheel for support he's not going to move around as much.
As a driver myself I can say that it’s nearly impossible for her to keep her head as still as her boyfriend as he knows exactly when he is going to break. The difference is visible in rally when the navigator is moving their head a lot compared to the driver and they are both highly trained.

Race cars can actually be quite cheap the caterham cup car is a good bet road legal and a complete weapon on track if you have time you could even build a formula Vee for like 5 grand

yeah I've noticed that as well, especially if you push the car a little bit, you naturally brace for whatever is coming but the passengers just kinda flop around in their seat
are you sure? The cup cars have extra venting in the wheel wells for air entrance/exit. Other than that they have almost the same front chin and maybe a bit larger back wing.
Porsche cup car's have a lot more grip than regular gt3's ! Race tires, more downforce, less weight.. I've made some laps in a 997 cup on Ledenon and i can tell you need to be fucking taped to your seat ^^
Arthur Gourlaouen my street car got immance grip. this 991 is lighter and I assume it have stickier tires than mine. my 991.5 GT3 runs pilot sports cup2 and only way I'll break it loose is during hard turn, downshift and flooring it. it's a amazing machine for sure
