Jigsaw’s method of “teaching people to value life” currently has a 0% success rate. Of all his victims in all the movies, only two survivors didn’t go crazy and become accomplices/disciples, and neither of them seemed to have an “improved outlook on life”. The detective’s son is traumatized and the woman forced to cut off her own arm is resentful and bitter.
Weird that Jigsaw never went through one of his traps yet somehow equates it to his own near death experience. Maybe hes just insane.

I think that’s the point, jigsaw while in his mind is helping people is clearly not he’s demented that’s kind of what makes him a good villain he doesn’t see himself as a villain

I really love Emerson's Motivation for Spiral. Especially because of the scene that we were supposed to get. The directors considered a post-credits scene to include Tobin Bell. It was supposed to show the young Emerson meeting John, and John gave him a small Billy The Puppet. That motivated him, and would have been perfect to see in the actual movie.

I love how in the flashbacks, John Kramer looks older, white hair instead of blonde. I imagine this is because all the flashbacks were filmed when Tobin Bell was older and after the first 3 Saw films

No matter how many videos I watch explaining the timeline of the Jigsaw killers/accomplices, I swear I'll never actually remember who does what or why. Just far too many people, flashbacks and storylines for a franchise people only ever watch for death traps.
Haha so many flashbacks, and every movie has a twist to add to the last film

Most hardcore fans in my experience care more about the overarching story than the traps. It's like the watching a condensed cop drama intercut with a slasher film. I love it.
Well many, like me, watch it for the convulated story, the plot twists, the score and the soap opera element (tho that has been missing lately, lookin at you Jigsaw and Spiral: FTBOS)
Can confirm, only watch them for the neat traps and the occasional clever twist. Even when the twist is bad, it’s usually so bad it’s good anyway.
All you need to know is that the twist in almost every other movie is that there’s a new accomplice who has been in on it THE WHOLE TIME (with accompanying flashbacks to integrate them into the plot) a la Saw 2, 4, 6, 3D and Jigsaw. The rest are chronology fakeouts to make you think events are transpiring in the present/past when they aren’t actually a la Saw 2, 4 and Jigsaw. There’s also a bunch of “character was alive the whole time” reveals (Saw 1, 2, 4, 6, 3D, Jigsaw).
The cops/investigators don’t really matter since they all only last about two movies tops. They discover the killer, but fall into a trap before they can prove it. Also, let’s be real, detective stories are a dime a dozen and the cat and mouse games don’t really matter ultimately. We know they’re never going to figure it out. Cause that would mean more work for the writers, and these movies had an annual release window.

Strahm's second trap wasn't inescapable. He could've escaped the very same way Hoffman did, by using the glass coffin therefore signaling he trusts Hoffman's judgement. All of which was hinted at on his tape.

Perfectly done video as I begin to watch every SAW movie in anticipation of SAW X (10) that releases October 27th.
I can more or less understand Amanda and Hoffman, she has an addictive, obsessive personality and he was already a psychopath, but I just don’t understand what about John Kramer or his wildly nonsensical philosophy was so compelling that intelligent, sane people like Gordon and Logan would choose to become his minions.
