A very helpful video. Thanks, Today I replaced successfully the cabin air filter in my 99 Sonata per your instructions in this movie. Everything went OK except one issue. Your car is missing a lower panel underneath the gloves box. You can't open the filter cover unless you remove down that lower panel. To remove the lower panel you should release one screw and pushing down the panel with some force.
A.D. thanks for your video. Gave me the courage to try it myself. My 2003 Hyundai Sonata GLS was a little different. The nuts were all 3/8" instead of 10mm and I also had a 3/8" nut to remove from a bolt in the top middle of the glove compartment. But all in all, very good idea to replace the cabin air filter. Mine was completely blocked and black and moldy, ickiness.
A.D THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR LONG FOR A VIDEO ON THIS ON THE 02 SONATA AND SINCE YOUR IS AN 03 IT IS ALL THE SAME! THANK YOU! ps. Any other sonata videos of this year that you have would be great! ;)
This was a God send. I bought my car used and was dealing with such a stench. I thought it came from winter life. Come to find out i had no filter at all in it!

Not necessary to take the whole trim off, if you drop the glove compartment you can access it no problem
he never took the filter out. if you went that far why didnt you take the filter out?
he either already replaced it or is simply just making a video to help you figure out how to get to it bud.
Thanks! Mine was so clogged that air didn't even come out the vents. After removing it, air blew out as it should, nice and cold too!!
Muchas gracias ya no me acordaba como se sacaba 😂😂😊😊😊
Thanks alot! Works on a 2004 as well.
Thanks for sharing this.
bles you friend
Good job & Thanks!
It's almost exactly the same as my 2002 Hyundai XG350....despite what the other youtube videos show....

Great video very well illustrated and demonstation. Thanks for sharing that was a good help.
My upper left screw was stripped and I had to rip it out. Much harder than it looks
the tabs come out by prying them forward and you can remove them.
This is the same for 1999 through 2003 model years!
Thank you so much
