Thanks, this will save people a lot of money that dealerships over charge and locksmiths just to reprogram something in a few minutes. May God Bless you.
First of all, THANKS FOR THE VIDEO! It helped a lot! 1) I have a 2004 Sonata GLS 2.7. I could not get the black box to slide off for nothing. So, like many others I pried it with a screw driver (between the metal and the black box) and it popped right off, breaking the clip (who cares). The switch is on the back (engine side). I was able to turn the box toward me just enough to take a long skinny screw driver to move to SET. Once I turned the key to ON for 5 seconds, moved to SET, pressed LOCK on both remotes and moved the switch back to OFF, all worked fine.
Bo Knowles... that's exactly what I did. Like you said who cares about the clips. It's not going anywhere. It's hard to explain that process but it's fairly easy. Dealerships charge alot for this. But Your Welcome. Glad to hear the video helped.
+Tiffanie Watkins I can answer that for you. In my case it slid towards you. But again if it pops off, it's no big deal. It has nowhere to go but to just lay there. But still be gentle not brutal. HUGE TIP: Use a phone. Take pics with Flash on. You'll get a better look. Good luck.
Hey dude... U r really awesome... I tried it in my Hyundai Sonata 2002 GLS... For the first couple of times I was unable to find the switch... Third time I just pulled the black box towards right then I was able to feel the switch... It was OFF. I turned it to SET and hold on the lock push button in remote for 5 seconds... Turned the switch back to OFF position and tried... Hurray.... Its working... Thanx a lot buddy... Note: Push downwards to make the switch to SET position.
qihang zeng the switch is in a small black box hidden a little to the left/bottom area. Feel around. Once you find the box, feel for a hole facing the front of your car. The button is in there. So I do recommend prying off the case with a thin fathead screwdriver. Don't be brutal with it cause you don't want to damage the inside. Let me know what happens. Good luck.
qihang zeng ...the SET/OFF is "the switch"...it's square. So it moves up and down. Put it on SET when programming and OFF when you're done. That's it. Let me know if you need further help.
Thanks it was helpful. I did it. However I like to let you and other know, in my case it was little more complicated. In my Hyundai Sonata 2004 on the circuit board no switch was present. There was just place for soldering it. To complete operation I has to remove board from the car, solder same short piece of wire and connect it to simulate switch.
@Kubas I have the same issue you had. my car does not have the switch. how did you simulate the switch? what soldering points you temporarily connected to set the board to "Set" position?
Hi I have a 04 elantra with a black box I cant find a switch what did you do to soder yours did you open the black box and soader something also how do you remove the black box I tried I cant remove mine.
This was helpful but I think the dealership removed the on off switch and put tape there. So I can’t reset it. 😢 buteverything else was easy and I got the box out etc.
I just got my two fobs paired successfully but they won’t open or unlock the car outside of it. I have to physically have the key fobs right next to the transponder inside the dash what’s wrong here?
Did you do steps 2:30-3:15 correctly? I do you have 2 remotes, you must progem them simultaneously while in SET. Then when done, put the switch back to Off. I don't have this vehicle anymore. Lmk tho. I can try to help.
Do the doors have to be in Unlock/ or Lock mode? Different videos you've uploaded say different things. Do I hold unlock or Lock? Mine won't work but ended up setting off my alarm (which Ive never heard before)
Sorry but I'm not a mechanic. I'm just sort of handy. I did this video cause I couldn't find one to help me. So I figure I'd try to help anyone save some money if I could. I didn't even know what an immobilized was... But I googled it. I can try to help. Does your key have a chip in it?
Hi, I have a 2005 sonata, I followed the video and remove everything. I can see the "set" and "off" on the box, but there's no button on it. what should I do? Thx
I have a 2004 Sonata. Is there an override to the alarm if your keyless remote isn't working? Also, I want to buy another keyless remote. Is the dealership the best place to get it? I heard that some of the remotes off the internet don't work because you can't program them. Thanks so much! All the best. (Great video, by the way!)
I doubt that there's an override. I'm not an expert though. I did buy 2 remotes on eBay (almost new, but used) for less than I would've bought just 1 of the dealership. And with a little research I programmed them myself. Saved a few hundred bucks. The dealership also charges you for each remote that you program. I strongly suggest doing it my way. It's not very hard. eBay & a little work. (Just make sure you but the correct remotes. Not just the shells. Be careful. Read.
is the box behind the radio part or the air condition controls part? Mine has the double sized radio because it has a tape and CD would I need to remove my radio to get to he box since its the double size?
yes, mine was behind the climate control box. I'm sure yours is there as well and you'd have to remove your stereo as welk. it's well worth ($) the trouble to check.
I have a 2003 Sonata, I followed all the steps, found the black box, and successfully popped it open. And all that's in there is the motherboard, I see no switch or "black box", help?
I have just purchased a 2005 Sonata. With your help, I found the module. It is part # 95790-3D002. Mine has NO visible switch either on the box or on the panel inside the box. There must be some other way to activate the system. The only holes in the box are for 2 connectors. Any suggestions?
Sorry, I'm no expert. My module (box) actually cracked open after. I should say, "the shell" that contains the small motherboard (for lack of a better word). Which isn't a big deal at all. I can see the switch very easily this way. Haha! But the shell did have an access hole for the switch. In its original state, it'd be hard to access it. That's all I can actual tell you. I'll answer any questions , that I can. Good luck.
Trust me, it's hard to find because initially I couldn't find it. It took me a couple times to take it apart and try again. Lol Be patient and feel around with your hand. I'm not a specialist at anything tho. But Good luck.
hi i have hyundai santa fe 2003 i found two black boxs one at bottom left and one right behind the ash tray ,but none of them have a set switch,i opened the one bottom left to see circuit board but till no set switch /?
I know the switch is small, it's facing towards the front of the car. mine was a little to the left side. I know on one of my videos, someone commented that it worked on his 2003 as well. all I can suggest is keep looking since you already went that far. I made 3 vids total. maybe I did something different on 1 that may help. good luck. let me know.

On one of my other videos, someone with a 2002 said it worked just like my 2004. So I would suspect that it's gotta be there. Look carefully with good sunlight. It's not the biggest box. It's attached to the side-corner, so not too easy to find. It's worth trying again. Let me know if it helps or if you need help. Good luck!
