Great rally so far for Martins Sesks, only his 2nd rally in a Rally1 car and he can get a podium, at his home rally no less.
No, he has first rally in HYBRID, in Poland he didn't have an HYBRID

@@ZeroHedgehog1996 I will give you different perspective. Rova is basicly Latvian, as he started his career in Latvia. Sesks is Latvian who went trough same school. Solberg son Oliver, went trough LV school. Tanak.....has been plenty of times in LV ! I think we need to make WRC great once again. Imagine 6 drivers who compete for title

They deleted his onboard for the stage from RallyTV as well. FIA is just admitting they screwed up big time and are hiding the evidence.
Second or 3rd in a ford in your second rally Sesks is proving he has it to mix with the best. If i was Ford id bring him to Finland to drive for construction points

Ogier would be up there with Evans and Neuville. Rovanperä would most likely be slightly behind in the rankings based on the fact that he twice failed to get points on a Saturday in the 5 rallies (with this rally being one of those 5) he participated in.
What seems to be apparent this season is that Elfyn and Taka are not a strong enough pairing to defend Toyota's manufacturers title, nor good enough to win a driver's title. It's up to Seb and Kalle, who have that extra 1-2% to make the difference against drivers of the calibre of Ott, or even Thierry.
M-Sport need to get Sesks in that second car next season. Sorry Munster, but you don't have the flashes of speed that M-Sport desperately need.

30sec lead after 8 stages...driving in his comfort zone and not even pushing to the limit. Just casually smiling and joking, like its just a hobby. What yöu can say?
it is clear to everyone, if Kalle drove all the rallies or even all the remaining rallies, there would be no doubt about the champion. Kalle can practically drive only half of the series and still be world champion or at least compete for it. it says something either about the level of the rally or the level of Kalle Rovanperä?

@@Thinking001 basically talked about fia race control, how they probably had a good lunch and wine for not red flagging the stage even when they saw the thing on the road :)

Neuville having the strange points system as a benefit, but looks like he try really hard to still lose the championship.
I don't know if he really benefited from it a lot yet. I mean if drivers like Rovanperä (in a part time season) can bin their car in 2 rallies on a Saturday and then can attempt on Sunday to take points away in both the Sunday stages and the power stage, I don't really think that's very beneficial for Neuville. It would have been a couple of seasons ago where he seemed to bin his car more than he has done the last couple of years, but now... not so sure. Especially since this season is full of gravel rallies and cleaning the roads as Championship leader has a pretty big impact on the points you can take at the end of Saturday as well.
I mean just looking at the power stages alone. Neuville has been faster than Evans in 5 out of the 7 completed rallies. And in terms of Sunday points, Neuville was 4/7 faster than Evans. What I'm trying to say is that it's quite handy for Evans to have drivers like Rovanperä and Ogier taking away points there. In the past if a part time driver binned their car, best case scenario they could get the power stage points, now they can either take away points on Saturday, Sunday and/or in the power stage. It has become harder to score points consistently.

I was watching it live - they showed Tanak’a car covered with the inflatable arch thingy for 10 minutes bit wouldn’t show how he ended up there. Ridiculous. Not like he died there.

Honestly, when it comes to Latvia, Poland, Estonia, Finland... they all seem the same. The problem with having so many European events on the calendar is that it's such a small continent, with countries so small in territory, that the roads and surroundings all look the same, making it boring to have so many similar events.
I wish the WRC were more spread out around the world, with a focus on making the events more diverse.
It's just costs, time, logistics etc. WRC in Australia, Chile, Africa, Japan, USA etc. Would be cool, but reality is this. Fanbase of WRC lives in Europe also.
Estonia isn't even in calender this year. Dirt road is a dirt road no matter the continent. What do you want? More tarmac? Winter rally in july?
