I agree that knowledge is distilling upon all Christianity. I remember many topics from LDS doctrines that were once considered heresy that are now presented as obvious and even taken for granted. An amazing thing to behold.
I've been looking forward to this 2nd part. You are right when it comes to the bias of scholars. I trust in the honest research of the common man, the farm boy and God's revelations for greater insight than the pride and money of modern academics. I was born with a desire to know the truth. This is a small part of my conversion and testimony. Thanks for all you do. I'll post next.
Love your stuff. I'm learning a lot. It's the any way to get ahold of the text so I can study it more? BTW, I heard you mention the Rapture, an idea which the apostles and prophets have never embraced. I personally think that there is evidence in the Book of Mormon to suggest that 1 Thessilonians 1 v17 is misunderstood and that nobody will be levitated.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I can send you my script for the video if you give me your email; mine is jjbrown@thinkpolicy.org You're right about the rapture. As you know, the rapture is not an LDS term and is not used in the Bible, but protestants use the term to describe the elect being lifted up off the earth before the 7-year tribulations get underway. The LDS believe the elect will all be lifted up when Christ comes in the clouds at the END of the tribulations, not BEFORE the tribulations. So, Protestants and LDS have been at odds over the timing of this lifting up (or rapture). In the video I was talking about how a lot of ideas that used to be uniquely LDS, have more recently been adopted by protestant Christianity. Increasingly, a lot of Protestants have rejected the idea of a pre-tribulation rapture and argue for a post-tribulation rapture, which aligns with the LDS perspective. The LDS have always been post-trib, but now a lot more protestants have become post-trib, as well. That's what I was referring to in the video.
OK guys, let's have some fun. I've been a member of the church all my life, but not as strong as i have lately. I've been trying all my life to understand the statement of the little small voice. So all my life I've been waiting for a telephone call. But then I hear from brother bednar, he says that's not the way it works. If you are living the gospel the way you're supposed to, is this inspiration comes to you and you don't even know it. So after all of that I keep wondering if all the thoughts I have are mine or whether they are inspired. Anybody got an opinion on that? About five years ago I gave up watching television studying the art of crime. Me and the full dyslexia act I have not spent a lot of time reading books or much less the scriptures. So obviously I haven't spent a lot of time reading books or even scriptures, being dyslexic it's just been a hard time ciphering these concepts. So I also have a hard time believing the academics. Where do they get their ideas from unless it's a from a book which is somebody elses ideas that they're studying. Ohh well that's a whole new different subject. Ohh well here's what I've been doing. I have been spending a lot of time on RUclips searching out different religious podcasts. But there's some that really got my attention. There's one that talks about the nicene creed that lot of the books were left out of the Bible. In 3rd nevi it tells us that a lot of things that have been taken out of the Bible that are plain and precious to us. So if you dig into them you'll really be surprised at what you can find. There is one that is really amazing, I think it answers a lot of our questions. It's called the book of Enoch. To me it is the Rosetta stone of our scriptures. In the doctrine and covenants 107 dash 57 56 And Adam stood up in the midst of the congregation; and, notwithstanding he was bowed down with age, being full of the Holy Ghost, apredicted whatsoever should befall his posterity unto the latest generation. 57 These things were all written in the book of aEnoch, and are to be testified of in due time. Hebrews 7_1-3 it reads 1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, 3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; bideth a cpriest continually. I don't know if I was inspired to click on this particular podcast or whether I come on to it by accident. But I spent a little bit of time researching it. I couldn't let it alone. It references the extended version of Enoch. I believe the extension comes from the translation from the kumaram scrolls. Look up the last versus in this translation. Try not to let your jaw drop and hit the floor. President Nielsen says think celestial.
It's been a while since I've read the books of Enoch, and I'm not sure whether I've read what you call the extended version. Thanks for the excuse to get back into it.

Listening to the Spirit is a skill we all have to develop and probably will only have perfected when we succeed in having our calling and election made sure. It takes work and isn't easy or always clear at first. It also depends a great deal on our desire and focus. This is my perspective: It starts with a feeling. In D&C 6: 22-23, the Lord reminds Oliver Cowdery of a time he prayed, and the Lord "spoke peace to his mind." The Lord further explains, in D&C 8: 2, that this involves the mind and the heart. This 'in the heart part' reflects the witness of the feeling as given by the Holy Ghost. People can feel the Spirit differently. Some people can feel a gentle tingle in the hair on the top of the head and/or on the arms. Others feel a warm, glowing feeling. I've read that women generally feel this in the chest, but men often feel it in the throat. I've experienced all of these at different times. At times (usually based on spiritual preparedness) it can feel very strong. Mostly, though, it's subtle and you have to practice feeling for it. At this stage, you won't generally 'hear' the voice. That comes with time. President Monson taught that what you do with the impressions you recieve will determine if and how you will get more. If, hearing or reading a truth and getting a feeling, you say 'oh, cool' and don't think about it again, you'll stay in 'feeling land.' If you think about the truth of which you've recieved a witness, and pray about it, you can find that you understand it or a related thing a little better. This is receiving 'pure intelligence.' Too often I've been the other guy, or somewhere in between, while wiser people have the sense to continue down that path, gaining greater understanding. Yes, it is possible for Satan to put wrong things into your head, and also he can fake the Spirit to some degree. This is why 1 John 1v4 says, "believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God." We have been given at least 3 tools that we can use to learn to recognize the difference of spirits. The first of these is the scriptures and doctrine of the Church. If you're getting an impression that doesn't mesh with anything else you know, it may well be wrong. Best to back away from that one or at least put it on a back shelf. The second is prayer. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young (and all the modern prophets and apostles) have always taught that we should get our own witnesses of truths. Back to 1 John 4: 1 where the Apostle tells us to 'try the spirits.' God is not offended when we ask, "Is this impression really from you?" The third is in D&C 6: 16 where the Lord tells us "there is none else save God that knowest thy thoughts and the intents of thy heart." This is watershed to know that Satan cannot read your thoughts. He _can_ and does read your body language, and so can sometimes surmise accurately well how you've recieved what he pushed at you, but he doesn't know until something you say or do gives it away. As you move forward to probably won't even notice the actual words coming to your mind that help you. I have, at times, said things far more clever then my normal capacity, and gained a respect or made a point, better than I would expect. I _know_ I'm not that clever, but it happened anyway. Someone once suggested examining your inner thoughts. We all have inner dialogs with ourselves. The Spirit will never pretend to be you. So if you think, "I want another ice cream cone" Is a safe bet it isn't inspired. But if you have the thought "now is a good time to study the scriptures " or "This isn't good, you should leave this place" those could very well be the Spirit talking to you. Knowing that, and keeping things in your heart, as Mary did, can take you a long ways. Just my thoughts. I hope they help.
I can't wait for your video on the 144,000, your videos are so well done and informative, Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge!! I am confused about the topic of the 144,000. Some things that I do believe on this topic are, That the calling of the 144,000 is a 6th seal event. that the selection began in the Kirkland time period and continues to our time. I have people that I know personally in their 50s who are told in their patriarchal blessing that they are part of the 144,000. Things I am confused about are, do women play a role with their husbands if their husbands are called? do the nursing Kings and Queens of the Gentiles mentioned in Isaiah have any connection to the 144,000? Are the 144,000 the hunters who go out after the fishers mentioned in Jer. 16:16? Will the 144,000 be both translated and resurrected beings? will any of them not be translated? will they all have the sealing power and their wives also? Does having the Father's name written in their foreheads mean more than having ones calling and election made sure? If the 10 tribes will make up a large portion of the 144,000 yet do not have their temple endowments yet, how can they progress so rapidly in their spiritual progress to be called as part of the 144,000 in such a short amount of time? It must mean that many of them are close to a sanctified condition before their return even without having received temple ordinances yet? I know some suggest that the ten tribes will play a role in the redemption of Zion close to the time when America is being cleansed and the wicked swept off by the Assyrian. but I am more inclined to think the remnant of Jacob going as a Lion through a flock of sheep and tearing them to pieces is referring to a role that sanctified men of the church will play mostly of Ephriam and some Mannassah. I'm going to assume that you are familiar with the organization "Genesis is History". Evangelical Christians have put together very good information about the flood. Bruce R. in his works alludes to the idea the separation of the continents were divided during the flood. Peoples were divided in their common languages in the days of Peleg. However, I hadn't seen the Joseph Smith quote. I'd like our wives to have a reunion from college days. I haven't visited with you since then. I would like to see you again and visit.
I'm not aware of Genesis in History, per se, but I've seen a lot of this type of activity among the evangelicals. Sometimes, they're a little too focused on the earth having to be 7,000 yrs old, which isn't true. I've always liked Ron Wyatt's stuff, as well. I disagree with Bruce R. on this one. I think HF allowed the 116 years or so until Peleg was born for animal species and some humans to populate the four corners before the separation began. I don't think people who travelled by ship after the flood, like the Jaredites, took lions, leopards, elephants, moose, elk, and buffalo with them on their boats. There was time for the animals to spread out before the division. I also think my Days of Peleg theory explains both where all that water went, and what would happen with that amount of liquid weight being forced down all the cracks and then turning into lubricant. McConkie was a great scholar, but not a great Joseph Smith historian. We have much easier and better access to Joseph Smith's record today than we did in the 70's. In my view, Joseph will always trump Bruce. I'd love to reconnect, but I can't figure out who you are from your RUclips handle, LOL.
Could you get a different image to start. Do you really think that Shem was white. Genesis 13: And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. South of Egypt is Sudan, Ethiopia and greater Africa. You are correct about influence of Egypt. Abraham came from Africa. I really enjoy your video but we have whitewashed history for so long that we cannot see.
When Abraham and Lot separated, Lot went southward to the cities of the plain, among them Sodom and Gomorrah. He did not follow the Nile southward to sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to that time period, Egypt was overrun and ruled by Semitic invaders called Hyksos, or Shepherd Kings who were closely related to the Hebrew people who are descended from Heber, a progenitor of Abraham. The Hyksos ruled for hundreds of years. Twelve years ago King Tuts DNA thread was photographed by Swiss scientists who discovered 50% of European men and 70% of Spanish and British men were directly related to him and only 2% of current Egyptian men. The history of mankind has always been one of movement.
@@IntoAllTruth. In Gentile dreams he was. Look I am Gentile but the truth is so obvious we just don't want to see. Egypt was settled by Mizraim son of Ham. That is why they were slaves in Egypt and the tombs have images of the slaves. There were no white slaves shown. Why did Jesus family go to hide in Egypt? Not because he was white. We love the white pagan Jesus images but reality is far from that. No Abraham was not from Scandinavia. Yes the people living in the promised land as they say, are gentile converts from 1000 years ago. We think the real blood Jacob look like that just as we think Jesus whose image was taken from a p0pes son.
@@FleeingBabylon-Now This is what Genesis 13:1 says: "And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south." So, first he went OUT of Egypt, and after he got back into the land of Canaan, he turned south into Negev, which is the southern part of Canaan. There is no indication that Abraham had dark skin in the Bible. The implication of Genesis is that Ham's wife was the only one coming off the ark with dark skin, so Ham's descendants were more likely to have dark skin. Abraham was a direct line, first-born descendant of Shem, and he married his cousin. So the implication is that he would have had light skin.

So, first he went OUT of Egypt, and after he got back into the land of Canaan, he turned south into Negev, which is the southern part of Canaan.
