Pontius Interview with Spencer (Visions of Glory)
Joseph Smith was a minor prophet, whose messiah mission failed when he turned Mormonism into a cult of celebrity worship and materialist ambitions. He was essential to the divine plan, however, in setting up the final chapters of the apocalypso dance contest for humanity that were essential to the birth and upbringing of the real Messiah in 1959 in the Mormon stronghold formerly known as Eagle Rock. His people will be vindicated when they reveal their real sources of his inspiration for the Book of Mormon and tie it together with the work of Welsh scholars who discovered the long standing links between Indo-Aryan cultures and the tribes of the Eastern USA, and who found proof that the Raleigh expedition were surprised to find the natives around Roanoke Island spoke passable Welsh and used the ancient Welsh script, which was quite close to the Demotic script described in this podcast. I'm sure there are some 34th-36th level masons in the Mormon Church to this day, waiting for the right moment to come forward with the truth they hid from their own stakeholders for so long. That moment is now.
With what Joseph actually said, I’m wondering WHY some LDS “scholars” still “cling” to the other version? I’ve heard them hem and haw something about him speaking as a man and not necessarily as a prophet regarding the location. Soooo, I’m supposed to jump on their THEORY and believe them because they are the “experts” … Pride cometh before the fall … maybe the experts could explain what THAT means to me??
God has perfect foreknowledge so chagrin was not there for God -- I would think.
Oh my goodness! I'm originally from Tennessee and baptized LDS at 25 yrs old I feel blessed to be here and thankful....
I've been fascinated by Gobekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe since their discovery, and infurated and confused by mainstream archeology and certain "groups" wanting to halt further excavation, stating they want to "save it for future generations!" Red flag...what are they hiding? What are they afraid of? Have they discovered something that threatens their power and control over the narrative?? Your video gives light to what they may already know and why they desire to keep it from us! OR maybe Satan is just urging them to stop the research because he knows, and doesnt want the truth to come out. Either way, somebody doesnt want us to know what it all means. Your videos are beautifully done and so informative! Ive watched them several times and have learned much. You've brought the old Patriarchs to life and brought my own life and struggles into perspective. Thank you for your research and willingness to teach us ❤
Thanks so much. Yep. there's something going on with all these Tepe's in Turkey, and I doubt the archaeologists know what it is exactly. Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you're getting something out of the videos.
Thanks 👍

Tremendous Info, thank you brother!
Thanks for stopping by.
I love you podcast!! So informative, but you seem rushed. You overlap your own words when quoting scriptures, etc. Slow down a bit. Let the audience contemplate one thought before you've rushed on to 3 more. Great job overall!! Keep them coming
Yes, in fact I apologize for that in the More Info section. As you can see from the comment from Whateverjudy below yours, I was made fun of by some for how slow and plodding my Hopewell - LDS Temple video was. In response, I used a tool to reduce empty spaces in my audio on this video, but it overdid it, and I couldn't reverse it. Sorry about that.
Love your stuff. I'm learning a lot. It's the any way to get ahold of the text so I can study it more? BTW, I heard you mention the Rapture, an idea which the apostles and prophets have never embraced. I personally think that there is evidence in the Book of Mormon to suggest that 1 Thessilonians 1 v17 is misunderstood and that nobody will be levitated.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I can send you my script for the video if you give me your email; mine is jjbrown@thinkpolicy.org You're right about the rapture. As you know, the rapture is not an LDS term and is not used in the Bible, but protestants use the term to describe the elect being lifted up off the earth before the 7-year tribulations get underway. The LDS believe the elect will all be lifted up when Christ comes in the clouds at the END of the tribulations, not BEFORE the tribulations. So, Protestants and LDS have been at odds over the timing of this lifting up (or rapture). In the video I was talking about how a lot of ideas that used to be uniquely LDS, have more recently been adopted by protestant Christianity. Increasingly, a lot of Protestants have rejected the idea of a pre-tribulation rapture and argue for a post-tribulation rapture, which aligns with the LDS perspective. The LDS have always been post-trib, but now a lot more protestants have become post-trib, as well. That's what I was referring to in the video.
The more I learn about the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints the more the spirit confirms to me that it is the lords church on the earth today and that knowledge has been restored in our day and time to help prepare the world for Jesus Christs return. For me it is exciting to study the gospel. It is also encouraging to study stuff like this as well. Thanks for a good video.
My Target Audience!! Thanks so much for stopping by.
Please read the book of Jasher… Melchizedek is Shem. Call Adonizedek in scripture. I have a feeling you will love this reading
Thank you. As you watch the whole series, especially Video 3, you'll see that I pull heavily from the Book of Jasher.
Bro Melchizedek is Shem… written in the book of Jasher 16:11. The son of Noah was Shem. Read the book of Jasher and be enlightened on the things of God in Genesis. God manifest himself thru men or angels but never physically appeared to no one.
I agree, and you'll see in the 3rd video in the series that I use Jasher a lot. I promise you that you do not know God so well that you can claim what he has or has not done or what he can and cannot do. He tells us that man cannot bear his presence, but that doesn't mean He doesn't have the ability to empower one of his servants to temporarily see him if He wants to. I would NEVER put a limit on what God does or what God can do. Yes, God manifests himself through men and angels. But I also believe the Bible. The Bible plainly says that both Jacob and Moses saw God face-to-face. The bible is so clear on it that you would have to wrest the scriptures to claim otherwise. Genesis 32 30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. Exodus 33 11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
@@JJBrown-lw1dv brother.. don’t insult me because I have a God honest opinion. No Jacob wrestled with an Angel and that’s was considered the PRESENCE of God. And Moses never seen God, he seen the manifestation of God. God told him, no man can see his FACE and live.. U got to understand the speech of God bro. Just read: Exodus 33:18-20 18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face👈🏾: for there shall no man see me, and live. 👈🏾 21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: 👉🏾but my face shall not be seen. Hosea 12 1 Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt. 2 The Lord hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him. 3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God: 👈🏾 4 Yea, he had power over the angel, 👈🏾and prevailed👈🏾: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us; 5 Even the Lord God of hosts; the Lord is his memorial. ---- Believe the John, the servant of Christ. Read brother: John 1:18 18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Truth about Mormonism! It’s a lie. Galatians. Read it! Gods word says Jerusalem is Gods city in Israel not lies read Acts 2:37-38.
Latter-day Saints would agree with you that Jerusalem is God's city in Israel. Although God's people in that city have often been unrighteous, it is still a city that was established by God, for His purposes, and will be renewed as a true city of God after Christ appears on the Mt. of Olives and brings it to its full glory. LDS also believe that Jerusalem will be a headquarters for God throughout the Millennium.
Where is the evidence that the plates were written in Hieratic? Anthon said they were a smorgasboard of symbols that were definitely not anything Egyptian. The three sets of extant characters connected to Book of Mormon writings all line up with each other and have nothing to do with anything Egyptian. You can claim they weren't BoM characters, but Cowdrey and Whitmer said as much, and they were supposed to have seen the plates, right? It's a pity God has them stashed away in his attic now so that we can't see them and know plain as day what they actually said. I'm at least sure that no Mesoamerican Hebrew would have ever talked like a 19th-century Protestant evangelist.
If you watched my video until the end, I provide evidence that the characters match up quite well with hieratic numbers and demotic characters. Hieratic and demotic are certainly Egyptian. No, the opposite: I claimed I DIDN'T know exactly where those specific characters came from. There is not one scrap of original source material for the Old or New Testament. It's all later copies. And there are no witnesses who say that they have seen or handled the original source material for the Bible. But the Bible is still true, and you can only know it's true through faith and the Holy Spirit. Should it be any other way? However with the Book of Mormon we have witnesses who did see with their eyes, handle with the hands, including turning the leaves of the gold colored plates. Some of those witnesses left the church and Joseph Smith, but re-affirmed what they saw until their dying day. The Bible doesn't have such witnesses. There are also multiple witnesses who participated in and observed the translation process, and saw that the translation occurred without notes and extremely quickly. But still, the only way to know if the Book of Mormon is true is through faith and the Holy Spirit. Should it be any other way? I don't believe the BoM was written by Meso-American Hebrews. I believe it was written by North American Hebrews. These Hebrews were set apart by God specifically BECAUSE they believed in Christ as prophesied by Isaiah and the other O.T. prophets, while the Judea Hebrews did not. They have visions of Christ and received revelations about his life and his Gospel 600 years before his Birth. They taught the Gospel of Christ, were baptized in His name and lived according to His Gospel which was revealed to them through their prophets. Then the Book for Mormon was translated into the language of the prophet Joseph Smith who was raised a 19th Century American Protestant. Yet somehow there are hundreds of Hebrew evidences in the language of the Book of Mormon such as Chiasmus, and Hebrew phraseology, that Joseph wouldn't have known about. So if you think that language usage disproves the Book of Mormon, then do you agree that the many, many Hebrew usages found in the Book of Mormon prove it? Didn't think so. Proof generally only goes one way for anti-mormons.
@@JJBrown-lw1dv Hebraisms are also in Green Eggs and Ham. The Hebraisms in the BoM are a direct result of the Masoretic texts and not because of the Hebrew language. And how could it sound like Hebrew when it was "reformed Egyptian"? Why didn't reformed Egyptian help Joseph Smith translate the Book of Breathings? Why didn't it warn him not to ban blacks from temples or not to marry Fanny Alger? Why didn't modern prophets figure it out until they were under social pressure to change? sHoUlD iT bE aNy oThEr wAy? You don't know you own history. No one ever touched the plates or saw them. Hello Brother! I am also of the Tribe of Joseph 🕎
When the tribes moved north there were stragglers that didn't make it all the way for whatever reason. Tired, ill, had enough. My step mother in law served a mission to the Ukraine with her first husband. He was a patriarch and gave blessings to members in that area. My step MIL told me that during their 18 month mission, her husband identified a member from all 12 tribes.
Yes, according to Esdras, it's pretty clear that only an elect, small sampling of the scattered tribes were guided up North to become what I refer to as the Hidden Remnant. So the rest would be what I call the scattered tribes, which is who your step mother likely encountered.
Bringham Young was a accessory to the Mountain Meadows massacre which slaughtered 120 innocent men, women and children. He was no more a prophet of God than you or I.
Please talk more slowly and be less expressive. 😂 Please have someone else narrate.
So it's a copy of counting bits? Where do any of your phrases (2+ or 1-gap-1) words match up in 1830 BoM? Have you tried yet?
This is logical. Great video!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Glad you think so!
I always wondered why the Lord was so harsh with the 12 tribes but you gave a reason which was the sacrifice of their children to evil idols. This makes so much sense. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!!
If you look closely, God is harshest to those who are hypocrites, and those who have covenanted with him, gotten blessings from him, and then turned against him. He's actually incredibly patient and forgiving.
I agree with you.
Thanks for watching and commenting.

Nibley spoke about the Watchers as well. They supposedly taught mankind war and various dark arts and married the daughters of me. I think the flood was to destroy all wickedness - probably a combination of secret societies and the dark influence of the Watchers
I agree.
Judgment of the Nephilim by Ryan Pitterson has great citations following their ilk through the bible. LDS can reach into apocrypha for even more, Pitterson keeps it strictly biblical.
Did you know that in the book of Jasher (apocryphal) it is said that the last animals that went into the ark were the Lions? These beasts were protecting the ark in the day when Noah’s family entered the ark and the rain was already pouring from heavens. I can totally picture Shem (Melchizedek) controlling the lions for his father so they could defend them from the mob wanting to enter the ark!
How cool. I love that image. What an amazing day that must have been.
What are the seven vices referred to here? I may have missed it in the slides. Thanks!
The 7 vices and their counterpart virtues are broadly accepted among Judean/Christian thought to be: 1) pride / humility, 2) greed / generosity, 3) lust / chastity, 4) anger / patience, 5) gluttony / temperance, 6) envy / charity and 7) laziness / diligence Each of those can be interpreted to mean slightly different things, but they are generally considered to be universal dualities associated with probations. Some believe that each of the Seven Archangels is assigned to one of the Seven Virtues. These angels would oversee the work of our development of each virtue. I believe that Satan has specialized devils who oversee the teaching and programs that entice into each of these seven vices. In other words, there would be specialists on both sides related to each of the seven virtue/vices. Probations that provide forgetfulness and opposition provide us an opportunity to confront all seven of these vices and with will power, effort, and assistance from the Light to turn the into strengths. By turning them all into strengths, we overcome both mortality and the opposition, we prove that we can be trusted with the powers and dominions of godhood. This is true wisdom, or knowledge. When that wisdom is combined with Charity, we qualify for a Celestial Existence and all that our Heavenly Parents have. Wisdom is the know-how, Charity is the power that draws good intelligence to us. Good intelligence, in all its forms and levels of development makes up our dominion which is willing to flow unto us, because of our wisdom and charity.
Regarding your thoughts on making your calling and election sure, and then working on saving your kindred who have wandered: I have an idea that I haven't done the work on yet, but basically it asks was Jesus a translated being? To support this idea I offer the powers he possessed over life and death, and nature, his ability to disappear from the view of those who wanted to kill him before the time, and the description of his death that said he said it is finished, and then gave up the ghost, indicating that his death was completely voluntary and done in a measured and deliberate way which he had control over. I'm interested in your thoughts and am willing to correspond with you regarding them.
That's a tremendous question. I've thought a lot about those same questions, and am very much in the speculation phase of answering it. Translated beings, from what we know (which is not much) don't suffer physically, so Christ would have CHOSEN to suffer the pains of this world and of death if he were translated. Which makes his suffering and dying for us an incredible display of will. I have come to believe that translated people can go through a PROCESS of translation, which is considered a transfiguration. The thousands of people of Enoch and Melchizedek would have worked their way through this process of transfiguration over time until they were fully translated. I've always assumed Christ was automatically like a translated being, because he was the son of God, but it could also be that he received that ability on the Mt. of transfiguration. It's also interesting that like Enoch and Moses, he also fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. It could be that that fasting was a prerequisite for his ability to eventually transfigure and pre-achieve his victory over both mortality and over Satan in order to obtain that transfiguration. Those victories were earned and put him in the position to suffer and heal for us by proxy. It's also interesting that Alma the younger apparently went without food a LONG time before finally being fed by Amulek, and that after that, he was able to achieve a new level of success among the wicked people and avoid the physical harm they intended on him. I've wondered if that long period of fasting and prayer was his 40 day fast along his process of transfiguration that led to his eventual full translation. Alma 8 26 And now, Amulek, because thou hast fed me and taken me in, thou art blessed; for I was an hungered, for I had fasted many days. But, anyway, I like to think of Christ as being transfigured (but not fully translated) after the visitation on mountain, and that is what allowed him to both suffer pains, but also to hold off death. It's all speculation, but besides receiving keys, it's interesting that no one really seems to fully know what the Mt. of Transfiguration was all about. It could be that he needed it to be able to perform the atonement. Maybe he wasn't born with that ability for free, and he had to actually earn it.
I agree that knowledge is distilling upon all Christianity. I remember many topics from LDS doctrines that were once considered heresy that are now presented as obvious and even taken for granted. An amazing thing to behold.
It’s interesting that “climate change “ is now melting the polar ice caps which could possibly reveal hidden things in the north. Hmmmm!
How come the picture shows white people? When they will stop tell lies? The people that was on ships as slaves that was the children of Israel. Prophecy was fullfiled when the Europeans brought us in the Americas and the rest of the world they scattered us. Deuteronomy 28, if anyone don't fit that prophecy they are not the children of Israel amen.
Demonic is a perfect fit. He even had occult materials such as a Seer stone to listen to the spirits. But there are many places where other sources were clearly copied or rewritten and put in the style of King James English. So how much was done by Joseph Smith and how much by the spirits of the dead? The Caracters script sample doesn't follow any language construct. They appear to be made up on the spot. The original sources did not exist, and could not have been manufactured because of the claim what it was in gold, and the fake script would have been easily determined.
Someone’s attempted to smear you regarding this and I think it warrants a response ruclips.net/user/live2mI32J_jKjg?feature=shared
I heard the streets were made that wide so you could turn a wagon around, not because of any future considerations
Yes he said he wanted wagons to be able to turn around. But he also saw a vision of the valley in the future. Wilford Woodruff was driving Brigham's wagon and said the following: “While gazing upon the scene before us, he was enwrapped in vision for several minutes. He had seen the valley before in vision, and upon this occasion he saw the future glory of Zion and of Israel, as they would be, planted in the valleys of these mountains. When the vision had passed, he said, ‘It is enough. This is the right place. Drive on."
Thanks for your video! I'm really new to this topic, so I wanted to double check something in the video. 21:48 My understanding is that Moses 8:12 says that Japheth is older and Shem is the second born. It appears that the traditional biblical translations are that Shem is the oldest. Wondering if you are aware of this and what thoughts you have if there are other biblical translations that match up with the Pearl of Great Price? Thanks!
Great question that I forgot to address. Yes, the Pearl of Great Price let us know that Japeth was oldest, then Shem, and then Ham. However as with almost every first son in the Old Testament patriarchal lineage, the oldest failed to qualify to be the designated Firstborn, for various reasons and a younger brother was designated as Firstborn, as was Shem. It started with Cain, who was born first, all the way down to Joseph and then Ephraim who were the younger brothers but designated First Born. I have some strong ideas as to why that is, but it's probably not a good topic for a public RUclips video. Are you related to Brea, Casey, and Cara?
@@JJBrown-lw1dv Hey JJ, thanks so much for your reply! Yes, certainly a clear pattern that almost every first son doesn't end up with the patriarchal lineage. It does seem to be an interesting pattern, not always perfectly fitting, of The First Shall Be Last & The Last Shall Be First. You've got my interest piqued about your theory. Perhaps someday. Yes! Cara, Kelly, Casey, and Bre are all my older half siblings. How do you know them? Small world. 😃 Another question on Shem & Melchizedek, if you are able to discuss. Have you researched the genealogical discrepencies in Genesis 11 between the Masoretic & Septuigent versions of the Old Testament? Basically people say that Shem could not have been Melchizedek because the Septuigent and Samaritan translations of the O.T. stretch the lifespan distance out between the post flood patriarchs and Shem would have died hundreds of years before Abraham was born. Whereas the Masoretic O.T. shows that Shem would have lived well into Isaac's life, whether he was Melchizedek or not. I've only started diving into this topic so I'm looking for people to help me make sense of things. I reviewed all three videos you have on this series and I don't believe I saw the genealogy issue covered. Interested to hear your thoughts if you have any from that angle. Thanks!
I spent a while studying the Masoretic vs. Septuagint time frames. Not enough time to get any expertise on the subject, but enough to decide to just go with the KJV, which uses the Masoretic. Joseph Smith spent a lot of time receiving revelation on his inspired version, the Pearl of Great Price, and his teachings in the school of the prophets about the timelines, and he consistently went with the KJV timelines in general. I've never found anything he's ever said to favor the Septuagint timeline, but he said and wrote quite a lot on the subject that correlates with the Masoretic. Let's remember that he was seeking revelation and corrections when compiling the Inspired Version, but never adjusted the KJV timelines. In my experience, the closer I stay to Joseph Smith's writings and teachings, the more things make sense, and when I leave him behind, I find myself in dead ends. So I'm not smart enough to make an actual case for Masoretic over Septuagint, just a strong faith in the value to sticking with the head of our dispensation, who is in my view the greatest dispenser of knowledge in terms of quality and volume to have ever lived. I hosted Casey and Brea in my home when they were at the Kirov Academy in DC, and helped Cara get a job with Sen. Hatch where she met Stephen. So they and Roma lived with me for that period. They're the best. If you're actually interested in the first born issue, shoot me a text, and we can talk offline. I'm self employed, so I'm pretty flexible, time-wise. 703 498 7422
@@JJBrown-lw1dv Hey JJ, that would be great to connect sometime. I've been preparing to travel to Arizona to see my wife's family so next week I'd love to connect with you. I have really appreciated any connections to discuss gospel topics. It really is a treasure so thank you for offering. I do resonate with what you said in this comment about how crucially valuable Joseph Smith is. For most of my life I did not value him for what I am now beginning to realize about his work. I feel like what you said "the closer I stay to Joseph Smith's writings and teachings, the more things make sense..." articulates what I had not put to words yet. I have recently gained a much greater appreciation for the Lectures on Faith, though I know there is discussion about how much was from Joseph. Still the LOF has such depth and also clarity on such foundational gospel understanding, I feel. So I'd love to hear any additional thought you may have on the Masoretic vs Septuegent, and also the idea about the first born, when we connect. I was talking with my dad, who is Casey, Bre, and Cara's dad, and he recognized your name from when you hosted them in DC. Very fun to make that connection with you. Also, I'm not sure you are aware, maybe you are, but Bre has recently been diagnosed with ALS. For awhile the disease was progressing rapidly but since has appeared to slow down. It's been a pretty tough time so any thoughts and prayers for her are of great help. Anyway, love to connect sometime soon, possibly next week.
@@brandonherd I didn’t know about Bre’s ALS until she just posted those two videos on it last week. I reposted one of them. Heart breaking. But what a treat to see her dance a little in those videos. I’ve always wondered if her adult friends had any idea that she was a world class dancer. Before we knew the Herds, my wife and I both grew up with ballet, and we were obsessed with the Kirov method of ballet and always had wanted to visit the Kirov Academy, but it’s closed off and gated. So when your dad called the Hatch office looking for some leads on where his two kids who were accepted into the Kirov scholl could stay and I picked up the phone, my immediate response was “they’re staying with my wife and me, and they’ll be staying for free”. He was a little shocked that I didn’t even have to check with my wife first, but I told him that the Kirov school was one of the best in the world, and if his kids were good enough to get in, then nothing would stop my wife from hosting them. Im not sure he understood what a crazy achievement it was for both a brother and sister to be accepted into that program. So we feel blessed that I picked up the phone that day. Check in after your AZ trip, and we’ll talk firstborns.
I LOVE your videos on the patriarchs and the priesthood. Please make more!
Thank you! Will do!
I loved this lesson, thank you.
Thanks, so glad you did. Hope you like the rest of the series.
Very interesting article I am looking for more info about fort carlisle ohio I lived on the land 30 years ago I still visit alot but don't know much
The Carlisle mound fortress matches perfectly. The timing of the mounds was right at the beginning of the Nephite Golden Age 2,000 years ago (after Christ came) but then the mounds were later turned into defensive fortifications, supporting the BOM timeline for wars and destruction that followed the Golden Age: From Warren County Local History: "Hilltop fortifications were thought to be of a later time than the mounds and hilltop enclosures. The ancients, to whom these works are attributed to, are the Hopewell Indians who lived within the bounds of Ohio nearly 2000 years ago. Carlisle Fort was thought to have been built from AD 1 to AD 300. Historians thought this type of defensive fortification was a reflective measure concerning a declining cultural race."" warren.ohgenweb.org/Bogan/bogan089.html
Well done. I agree with all you present here. I love that we know which team wins in the end, and we're admonished to 'not fear', but move forward with faith and hope. Paraphrasing Eld Holland. His power is greater, even tho we as children will be buffeted about, He will bring us home, if we trust Him.
Thank you! Your point that our role is to be at peace and available to serve during tough times is becoming more relevant every day.
You're a great teacher JJ, you and the baby.
LOL
JJ you are such a great teacher
Thank you.
22:35 carrying a few copies of Isaiah's sealed books in their bags??? What do you mean?
Books of Mormon. That's how Isaiah described the Book of Mormon.
@@JJBrown-lw1dv ok. I'm going to think about it.
@@MommaCrissa I was just trying to remind us that Isaiah had predicted the last days gathering and even prophesied that level of detail about the BOM.
good stuff, but you know the bom doesn't call it the tower of babel, right? ces ppl put tower of babel into the chapter headings, but the actual text doesn't say that.
I am aware that people make this argument, but I don't fully understand why they believe it matters. Here's what Genesis says: "4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded." They are building a City AND a Tower together, somewhere in the Land of Shinar. Then after the languages are confounded, God refers to the city as Babel, because it was from where all the people were scattered. Considering it's very likely that the tower was near or a part of that city, why not refer to it as the Tower of Babel? "8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth." Maybe I'm missing something, but if God called the city Babel, after the fact, I don't see why it's inaccurate to call it the Tower of Babel, after the fact, since the city and the tower were a joint effort.
The seekers guide...clever 😆

BROTHER BROWN- THANK YOU FOR THESE AMAZING VIDEOS. THEY ARE TIMELY AND RIGHT ON THE MONEY!! :)
You are very welcome. Thank you.
@@JJBrown-lw1dv Brother Brown- Do you happen to have an email I might email you at? I have a quick question or two I would like to ask. Thank you so much.
We are also the Gentiles. Ephraimite Gentiles.
Yes, according to the Book of Mormon usage.
I love these thoughts. A few key words in D&C 84:14 make me lean away from Shem as Melchizedek. The word "fathers" (plural), and "even till Noah". These words, to me, suggest at least 2 generations between Melchizedek and Noah. The Third Book of Adam and Eve (not canon) talks about how Shem mentored Melchizedek. Melchizedek is said to be the youngest son of Cainan. There is also some interesting bits about Shem administering bread and wine. Melchizedek is later directed to build an altar and offering bread and wine. This matches well with what Melchizedek later does with Abraham in the JST of Genesis 14.
Thanks. The "til Noah" verse at first made me think Melchizedek may be Eber instead of Shem. But the more I read it, the more I think that phrase simply represents the pattern of the priesthood being patriarchal (lineage of the fathers) as going from dispensation head to dispensation head: Abraham til Noah, til Enoch, til Abel and Adam. Which distinguishes Abraham's lineage from Jethro's (in the previous verses) which seems to be non patriarchal, (not the lineage of his fathers) and definitely not dispensation head to dispensation head. But it was the modern revelation that clearly distinguished Shem as "the Great High Priest" that I believe was the final puzzle piece we are given to know the connection. Shem was clearly alive during Melchizedek's day, and a modern prophet went out of his way to tell us that Shem was "THE great high priest." That tipped the scales for me. And then the scriptures repeating over and over that Abraham received it from his Fathers, and him getting the keys to be the Firstborn, means that Melchizedek MUST have been in Abraham's lineage back to Noah, and we know exactly who Abraham's fathers were back to Noah. The only person who could designate him Firstborn, would be the person who had those keys. Shem was clearly the living firstborn and the Great High Priest. Abraham 1 "I became a rightful heir, a High Priest, holding the right belonging to the fathers. 3 It was conferred upon me FROM THE FATHERS; it came down from the fathers, from the beginning of time, yea, even from the beginning, or before the foundation of the earth, down to the present time, EVEN THE RIGHT OF THE FIRSTBORN,"
Jerusalem means "new Salem".
Hebrew scholars actually would say it means "abode of peace" or "city of peace."
This is a great video. An awesome book to add to this is The Triumph of Zion: Our Personal Quest for the New Jerusalem by John Pontius which is phenomenal as well. In the book he goes through the process of how to seek for the translated state. I highly recommend it for those who are seeking this path.
Thanks. I also endorse Triumph of Zion. Also, the Pillars of Zion series by Larry Barkdull.
