1st show 3-9-1981 Thank you Uncle Dennis, old 70s Head✌ Saw every Garden show till 94 except this run. Had tix for whole tour, but stayed in Cali after Telluride thru Calaveras. Man missed some good shows that tour😥 All good, nothing like MSG! Last show there was Furthur 2013 and the rebuild was almost done. Didn't have the same feel, corporate 🤔
Great show, Steve! I lived in NYC in the 80's and 90's, and used to go to MSG every GD show! Thanks for being you! I've got the memories from the audience side...those were amazing times!👍🎸❤️
I just went through Deadbase and I've seen 17 shows at MSG and missed 1 because of a broken arm I got in Jersey the morning of a show. Anyway, MSG was the ENERGY BASE. Pre-game partying at the various bars, drinking beers, trippin', listening to the bar play live Dead extremely loud. You had to learn your ABC's the first few times you were there, especially if you were looking. LOTS of undercover. Favorite show: Sept. 1991 run the 9th and 11th. and 1990 first show without Brent.
9/18 gets all the press but 9/19 I was 17 & very high, it was only years later I got to hear how colossal it really was, just like I remember it. Playin went on forever & was like descending multiple levels under the sea, drumz I actually was afraid the foundations would crack, I could see in my mind a mile down under Manhattan island. But a beautiful show.
Feel blessed to have been there for this run, it was magical.
I was so blessed to experience this, my first time doing acid! Much love to you Big Steve

I remember hanging out at the Blarney Stone before the show
I saw the first 4 nights of this run. I missed only the last night.
Always heard it was built on cables. Could feel it during show.
That back stage pass with the heart, love the Grateful Dead spelled forward and backwards.
My 3 top concerts ever. 9.18 the pinnacle.
Second set of 09/18/87 is one of the best shows ever....I listen to it all the time. Probably one of the best Morning Dews ever.
