Very nice, I never got any of those. Nice look at them. BTW, you were not kidding about a bit of a wait time for the cutaway Bruce kit. I ordered 4 weeks ago and am told I'm still about 7-8 weeks out. I'm sure it's going to be worth it though.
Oh wow! I didn't know they were backordered that far! I guess they didn't anticipate the kit to be as popular as it is. It's an awesome kit. You're going to really like it. I've heard of other people having to cut that piece off the back tail section to make it fit like I had to do and the seams are pretty bad but I know you'll make yours look fantastic! I hope you get it quicker than they're saying.
When I was a kid I got in trouble for scanning my uncle I told him I was scanning him to see why he made so much noise when he ate, and if he really had a lot of sh*t in him.😂
Yes! Looks like it's going to be a very nice piece. It's taken them a super long time but hopefully it'll be one of the best classic tricorders ever made! 😁
I just purchased, from an eBay maker/seller, in California, a custom Playmates STTNG mkVII ( his version 2.5, based on yours with many more lights/doodads at the top or front of the tricorder ), but in addition to everything your does, mine has the lower panel EMERG and iD lights that light, when the tricorder door is open. Also, the one I purchased, has been much more cleanly finished, as the maker covered ( puttied? ) and primerd every seam area before painting all the outside visible tricorder surfaces with a Tamiya dark silver/gray metallic paint for plastics. Used a satin black for the front/top scanner/doodad panel ( to make the lighting pop more ) and the same satin black for the smaller rear body panelof the lower tricorder body and the back body panel of the top, flip open door/panel. The only other feature I wish it had was the ratcheting sound when flipping up the top door panel back to its closed position. That is really the only sound effect missing from this modified Playmates tricorder. Everything else about it is just cool/terrific! Wasn't cheap, though, but a WHOLE LOT cheaper than the die-cast Factory Entertainment version, that does much of the same things! Also, the version I purchased uses a solid, lithium polymer battery connected to a USB-C charge port, for charging, on one side of the tricorder. Also, charges using wireless, magnetic charging, from the backside of the tricorder, making it possible to use any magnetic, wireless charging puck or wireless charging surface! Battery has an overcharging protection circiut, also wired to the LiPo battery, as well! I had to purchase, on eBay, again, a seperate 3D printed plastic holster, though, that ended up being compatible with these Playmates STTNG tricorders. I will line and glue into the inside of this plastic holster, a soft cloth or felt material, to keep the paint on this tricorder from getting scratched/chipped off. Still waiting for this to get to me.
@@MrMichelPM Wow! Sounds like you found a really nice one! Whoever made that one did an incredible job to get all those features into it. That couldn't have been easy since most of the circuit boards out there are designed for the more accurate replicas. I'm glad you were able to get your hands on one. They're not that easy to find. I do have the Factory Entertainment version on order. Can't wait to see what it's like!
The FE one is all sorts of awesome, but completely out of my “affordable” price range. My version with tax and custom made holster was well below the $700 price range, for everything! My modded Playmates toy to near prop replica version was still “pricey”, but much less so! Very happy with this version.
A lot of props, and clothes props are taken from REAL items. The voyager jumpsuit is a real child’s jumpsuit from the 70s. The original tricorder is from a 60s cassette player.
if for whatever reason you want to repair the lights on the roddenberry its actually not too hard, i did it for my dads in a few hours when i bought him his before his surgery. if you want specifics just let me know i also did one of the conversions to the playmates one and man does it make it just like a prop
Oh that's good know. If you repair another one, you should make a video showing how to do it. Yes, even the Playmates tricorders look so much better with the lights upgrades!
@@outsider238 i can try to explain it because chances are ill never see another one haha but pretty much you just have to pop the EMRG panel out and take the battery compartment loose and either run a new wire in or splice a little run in whichever broke
@@outsider238 If you're ever interested I can always do it for you, the only problem I ended up having was getting the Emrg panel back on completely flush as I didn't want to use any glues that will ruin it like super glue but if you don't as well I completely understand lol id kill to be able to get one for myself my dad always tries to make me jealous even though i bought and paid for his
The last 3 you presented are my favourites, but on the whole, I liked all Tricorders in your collection. Nice video!
Thank you! The tricorder is such a cool prop! 😁

These are really cool. Star trek one of my childhood favourite.
Me too! 😁

Those are wicked cool. Are you looking forward to the Wand Company's Tricorder coming this year (or next)?

@MrMichelPM That's fantastic! It's good you have the skills to do all that. Yeah I can't wait for the FE one to come out.
I kind of don’t really know a whole lot about them but they kind of seem pretty cool
They are! Love all the crazy lights! 😄
Oh, any of those is quite cool, the last one shown might be my fav though
That is definitely one of the best ones ever made! 😁
