I LOVE this version of the song. It's very well done, gives it a new age twist and brings a past song up to now, while still keeping with the original too. Perfect.
Donna's original version had a great guitar solo in it. I noticed that was absent here. I think it was Billboard Magazine (or Rolling Stone) that said it was the 2nd best guitar solo of the entire decade. Anyway, it is nice to see people rockin' out to Hot Stuff, because it was a ROCK song, but just because a black woman named Donna Summer sang it, they can't help but call it disco. There are some who think every song you can dance to from the 70s sung by a Black Woman was Donna Summer. Rock legend Bruce Springsteen belived that the "disco sucks" movement was based on racism, which is why he wrote Cover Me for Donna Summer (but the record company made him record it and keep the song, which became a big hit), so he wrote another song for Donna Summer called Protection, which he sings some backup vocals (mostly near the end) and I believed he played the electric guitar solo too. He now performs Protection in his live shows. Donna could rock with the best of them. When she performed Hot Stuff LIVE, it was a total rock out song, and her guitar players loved it because they could go wild. She started out in a rock band called CROW. Underage, she slipped into a club and saw Janice Joplin perform. She was in the German production of HAIR, and sang White Boys and Aquarius, etc., in German at the age of 17, and did music theatre in Germany, and did recorded demos with and for Giorgio Moroder and then became a star with one hit... and the hits kept coming. She was amazing, and even more amazing LIVE. She was so much more than what most people are aware. Aside from her talent, she was also one of the most loving and kind people you could ever know. I miss her every day.

@ypsi1968 everything gets redone at some point. i wouldn't be surprised if Will Smith's songs from the 80s get covered sometime in the foreseeable future. besides, this version might get kids interested in the original; you never know ;)
