Homeless people with no next of kin are being swept under the rug and so are people whose family can’t afford to bury them respectfully. This is out of hand!

Last year BC had 42,000 overdoses and this year it’ll be upwards of 1000/week. Think of all the resources wasted answering all 50,000 OD calls. It’s wacho ! Police/fire/ambulance have gotten very good at bringing people back. It’s practically all they do.

Coming from a medical background, I was appalled how BC “requested JT” to decriminalize illicit drugs. I thought it was the most ridiculous logic I have heard in my entire life. Backed up by scientific & medical researches, we cannot help an addictive person come out clean if we continue to give them more hard drugs. We treat addicts in several steps like detoxification, cognitive & behavioural therapies, and medications to alleviate withdrawal symptoms like hallucinations, psychosis etc. We use holistic approach. The treatment is not only focused on physical but also mental, emotional & psychological well being of the patients. We need to provide optimum support from families, counsellors, and other health care professionals across our health care system. We need to help them get back to their normal life and teach them to regain their self-confidence & become self-sustainable again. It’s actually outrageous why do I even have to say this. It’s a no-brainer. An addict will not be treated if you keep on giving him/her more drugs. In fact, you’re putting their lives at risk even more. And the “safe supply” already have ripple effects. Although it’s allowed only in BC, hard drugs can be transported illegally thru provinces nearby if those illicit drugs go into the hands of wrong people like those who buy & sell hard drugs. Or it can even be shared among their families or friends. It’s totally outrageous. Now, the liberals are saying “Olivia Chow (city of Toronto) is requesting to decriminalize the same illicit drugs. Not sure if it’s Chow who initiated the talk or it’s the Liberals. I can’t find any valid reason why Toronto should request decriminalization of hard drugs. Currently although only marijuana is legal, there are so much crimes & chaos I see on the streets, TTC, parks and other public places. How much more if they legalize meth, fentanyl, cocaine & opioids? It’s a sad, sad state that we’re living in right now. I’m sad thinking about those people who can be victimized & be killed because of this ridiculous “safe supply” program of the Liberals. I’m worried for myself, for my family, for my children, and for all Canadians who came here in this country to live a better life and yet being exposed to dangerous policies like this. Unimaginable.

I have had trouble dealing with my issues for over 20 years and now I finally got some help and now things are starting to get slightly better for me but I lost my marriage and it affected my personal life and I understand how lost people can be if they do not have help and they're stuck with drugs. Your video is so compassionate that I’m literally in tears because I’m sick of fighting for Canada disability since 2018 that I’ve actually considered applying for M.A.I.D. Because I’m living in so much pain and misery and was having to hibernate long before COVID due to lupus disease and all the medical issues related with it. I’m 48 years old and worked 23yrs up got hurt at work and when I was cleared to return to work I tripped in my own garage on a cord and reset my whole injury. It’s hard working 12 months consecutive in trades and employer claimed that because I reinjuried myself at home and wasn’t employed 12 months then they weren’t obligated to continue my workplaceNL compensation nor obligated to securing my position. I’ve attempted to return back to work several times and failed physicals for my trade and went back to my commercial cooking lic but spent more time into emergency then working so I decided not to inconvenience my employer because I was unreliable. I’ve been without any income having to depend upon my….husband (we barely on speaking terms after 28yrs marriage) or go to my kids. It’s taken all my independence, my pride, my love for working, and its worst feeling being able to do everything myself to having to request carry out at grocery stores. Yet tribunal board still denied benefits
Michelle, our doctors are part of the problem. I have stage four cancer and am trying to remain at home for as long as possible. My doctor prescribed Hydro morph every 12 hours. Sometimes I need a 4 hour pill instead and Tylenol 3 works best for me. My doctor now claims that prescribing both is “ inappropriate .” In other words, one size fits all health care. No thank you. I eluded to the idea of buying what I need as an individual off the street and got zero resistance. Nuff said

Our judicial system is brokn as well . I worked hard my whole life & when i needed it for loss of my son in a very negligent job site fatality. Case dismissed at 12months under bullshit loophole( jordan ruling ) my son had no wife or childern so as a father no accountability what so ever . Now gotta spend time & money to maybe get these 2 companies back in court . Love to hear u on this matter .

I can’t find any valid reason why Toronto should request decriminalization of hard drugs. Currently although only marijuana is legal, there are so much crimes & chaos I see on the streets, TTC, parks and other public places. How much more if they legalize meth, fentanyl, cocaine & opioids?
It’s a sad, sad state that we’re living in right now. I’m sad thinking about those people who can be victimized & be killed because of this ridiculous “safe supply” program of the Liberals.
I’m worried for myself, for my family, for my children, and for all Canadians who came here in this country to live a better life and yet being exposed to dangerous policies like this. Unimaginable.

Follow politics, the house of Commons, Committees, then gain an understanding of the fact that "this person" is the opposition, not the government, and then understand the history of the last 8 years and the actions of the government - ie. Coalition of NDP and Liberals. Then direct your concerns where they belong. Firmly on the laps of the liberals and the sellout NDP MPs that back them. Start there. Then come back.with a question about those policy makers.

Not supervised, they let you walk out to resell. Hand prescriptions with bottles full. I don't agree with these sites.. but at least only supervised once a week..not just hand over the crap for resale. Your speech made me cry. I'm a 53-year-old autistic and anxiety disordered gentleman. I am a visible minority. I have had trouble dealing with my issues for over 20 years and now I finally got some help and now things are starting to get slightly better for me but I lost my marriage and it affected my personal life and I understand how lost people can be if they do not have help and they're stuck with drugs. Your video is so compassionate that I’m literally in tears because I’m sick of fighting for Canada disability since 2018 that I’ve actually considered applying for M.A.I.D. Because I’m living in so much pain and misery and was having to hibernate long before COVID due to lupus disease and all the medical issues related with it. I’m 48 years old and worked 23yrs up got hurt at work and when I was cleared to return to work I tripped in my own garage on a cord and reset my whole injury. It’s hard working 12 months consecutive in trades and employer claimed that because I reinjuried myself at home and wasn’t employed 12 months then they weren’t obligated to continue my workplaceNL compensation nor obligated to securing my position.
I’ve attempted to return back to work several times and failed physicals for my trade and went back to my commercial cooking lic but spent more time into emergency then working so I decided not to inconvenience my employer because I was unreliable.
I’ve been without any income having to depend upon my….husband (we barely on speaking terms after 28yrs marriage) or go to my kids. It’s taken all my independence, my pride, my love for working, and its worst feeling being able to do everything myself to having to request carry out at grocery stores. Yet tribunal board still denied benefits
That is a truly heart-breaking story and my prayers go out to you.
Michelle, our doctors are part of the problem. I have stage four cancer and am trying to remain at home for as long as possible. My doctor prescribed Hydro morph every 12 hours. Sometimes I need a 4 hour pill instead and Tylenol 3 works best for me. My doctor now claims that prescribing both is “ inappropriate .” In other words, one size fits all health care. No thank you. I eluded to the idea of buying what I need as an individual off the street and got zero resistance. Nuff said

Our judicial system is brokn as well . I worked hard my whole life & when i needed it for loss of my son in a very negligent job site fatality. Case dismissed at 12months under bullshit loophole( jordan ruling ) my son had no wife or childern so as a father no accountability what so ever . Now gotta spend time & money to maybe get these 2 companies back in court . Love to hear u on this matter .

I still remember growing up feeling safe enough to leave the doors unlocked. In fact my grandparents never locked there door. It was always open in case family were to stop by. Now we have cameras all over my house to catch ppl stealing things in our yard or breaking into our vehicles. I’m so sick of walking down the street and seeing needles and paraphernalia out in the open in peoples front yards.
