American here, love what Earps gives for England, and still don't understand what she did to have her club sit her and have the talk of her losing her #1 England spot! She's always been incredible in goal!
Absolutely and as a US fan we rarely entertain talk of our goalkeepers being replaced. There is a reason in the storied history of USWNT there have only been 3 goalkeepers who have permanently worn the #1 jersey each with a decade plus of work and world championships. Mary should retained the #1, why? Hamptons is incredibly young and no where ready to be the number 1. Just because she having a good club form doesn’t make you the best on the national team and her ability to command the back should come into focus especially after that Germany game. Mary proved that with this game today. She kept England from conceding and if Hampton was there I doubt the score would be 0-0.
From a US perspective thought it was an entertaining match. Looking forward to our first official match up when we have our front line espresso x 3 present. We should have put some of them opportunities into the back of the net. But both sides the play was high so it was entertaining. Lionesses and our USWNT are great, fan of both. Get In and LFG!
PACE PACE PACE!! , or the lack of in the England squad. Sarina Wiegman MUST get away from this loyalty mentality when selecting teams, BE BRAVE like you tell your players. Jess Carter and Jess Park had good games but the rest, let's be brutally honest were avarage to mediocre. Recruitment of young girls in their early teens who show 1.real pace, 2.some skill and 3. An interest should be a priority for Women's Club level football. They are out there surely? I'm thinking the likes of Johanna Kaneryd, Myra Ramirez, Sam Kerr, Salma Paralluelo. Is it any surprise that 3 of these players were signed by Emma Hayes. Important for all areas of the game Defense , Midfield and Strikers. My Opinion and my hopes to have an England Women's World Cup winning team in the nearish future.
Not one of them is from London, there is clearly not much of a pipeline for inner city girls and with a small population this will need to be improved. Sorry, but this team will need to diversify to continue to compete, zero athleticism. The USA ran rings around them, and they also have a population advantage, they will continue to dominate womens football for a while. They will walk the next women’s World Cup. England are slow, and all play the same way, they need some pace, and creativity. They ain’t winning the Euros.
In 2019 the USWNT had a good manager and healthy players. In 2023 a less than good manager and we lost Mallory Swanson to a knee injury. The US now has a great manager. 🤞🏿

I f****** love Emma Hayes. Thank you, England-folk. You can't have her back.

The us national anthem is a old English drinking song 😂 and America named after a Italian explorer 😂 so England 🏴 invented them
Thanks and now we’re the most powerful country on the planet
