Thank you! Would there be any harm in setting up both a domain property and URL prefix property for one site on GSC? Or is better to choose one or the other. We have a bigger website so URL prefix would be limiting, however it would be valuable to see the traffic/volume performance for specific landing pages we have.

As an SEO agency, how do i manage different websites using Google Search Console. Do I setup GSC for each website or can I manage all website with my agency name?
Aw yay!!! Glad to hear it! I prefer to set clients up with their own property and make them an owner so they have the freedom to remove me as a user if they’d like.

Very helpful, Mariah. As per your advice, I've added all 4 variants using Add Property. But I also have a few other domains registered (slightly shorter and/or common misspellings) that my hosting company redirects to my company's website. Should I add these in the exact same fashion (all 4 variants), or should I simply ignore those?
If other variants redirect to the main one, and they don’t have their own sitemap or anything, so you can prob ignore them.

I can't get the html code to put on my website footer...I've clicked on the property dropdown thingy, it's so confusing. Perhaps you could show how to get it back again when it's gone off the screen. 40 something technophobe here.
Aw yay, thank you for that feedback. I appreciate you!! For Google Search Console, you can usually click the property drop-down and scroll to the bottom and you’ll see any domain names that haven’t been verified so you can click on that and it should pop up again. Or you can just add a new property from the beginning. Like a fresh start. If you’re referring to Google Analytics, the process is a bit different. Hopefully that helps a little!

I also watched your video regarding GA4, so my approach would be to make for each client a GA4 account and then to add them as separate property in Google Search Console, does this make sense?
Hi! It’s possible to manage multiple client accounts in GA4. Just set them up as separate accounts, not properties under one account so it’s easy to give access.

What a great video! So glad I found this channel today. My domain is hosted through Godaddy, so I was able to just register/verify my property that way. Just confirming that since I was able to do it that way, I don't need to do those 4 variations of the url prefix? Did you just make the video this way because verifying with domain is usually more difficult for people?
Correct! If you can verify it with GoDaddy, you don’t need to do the 4 prefix variations. And yes, usually the domain verification is confusing to people or too technical if they have to do it manually, so I wanted to explain the options ✨💖

If they have different root domain names, yes!
I already have an html tag in my header from Google ads.. can there be more than one? From the short search I did, it seems it is not advised and can cause problems. Is there another method I'm not aware of?
It depends if it’s with Google tag manager and your other stuff is set up there too. We just don’t want duplicate tracking. So it all depends on your setup
Do I also need to index the non primary ones?? Or only add a sitemap and add index for the my primary, which is https:?
You only need to add the sitemap to your primary version! Bc all the other versions should redirect to your primary version so there should only be one sitemap
I accidentally deleted the TXT record it prompted me to paste in the TXT records. However when I deleted the property to restart again it automatically connected it to my wix account and didn't give me another code. Did I mess something up now that I deleted that TXT record? Or is it fine because it seems like its connecting okay to the website?

I have godaddy but when I enter in domain it does pop up like yours at time stamp 3:13 where it says instructions for godaddy. My only says txt or cname. any advice on what to do next.

How do I determine in my google analytics is GA4 setting vs. legacy setting?
You can usually tell by your tracking code. If it starts with UA, it’s the older version. If it starts with G, you’re good.
Hello, I followed all these directions, and getting indexing reports that say "New reason preventing your pages from being indexed Duplicate, Google chose different canonical than user, page with redirect, Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag" on all the pages added. Can you help?
Yeah these “errors” can sometimes be ignored depending on what they are. Some of them are totally fine and not actually errors. It kinda depends on your website and the specific message showing up.

Is it still encouraged to set up the other variations of URL even if I have a GoDaddy account and set up Google Analytics prior to and used the "Domain" option to originally add the property with no problem?
If you set it up as a domain property, you don’t need to add any of the prefix options because the “domain property” covers all of them. Hopefully that makes sense!

Sometimes it takes an hour or two! I haven’t seen it take longer but ya never know sometimes lol

How do you know what your google Analytics is with? Kind of confused with that. Should one just use the 'domain' route?
I’m not sure I understand the question. You set up Google analytics as an account connected to your gmail email and then you embed the code into your website. When you set up your Google Search console account, you have to verify that you in fact OWN the domain that you want to create the account with. The quickest way to verify is by creating your Google search console account with the same email as your Google analytics account so Google can see “ah yes, we know they own this domain bc they already have a Google analytics tracking code on their site and they wouldn’t have that there if they didn’t own the site” - if you have your domain name hosted with GoDaddy, Google search console makes it easy to “verify you own your domain” that way. So there’s different ways to verify. The domain way, is the most efficient way, but you can do the URL prefix too.

Hello,
I decided to move my website from wordpress to HTML 5 , however im stuck when it comes to search console . I tried to remove the property so as to resubmit it afresh but this doesnt work. i removed the console tracking code from the domain but when i try to add property afresh it auto-verifies the domain and brings back the old data, the old indexed pages etc. ive actualy removed the tracking code but i keep being verified as the owner of the website so i cant start afresh. I want to start over because the initial naming of the pages on wordpress doesnt march with the new html site. Also im more profecient with HTML rather than wordpress.
So to start on a clean slate and submit the new website afresh entirely, start from zero , kindly what do i have to do ?
Yeah Google search console is on a domain name basis. Not a website platform basis. So it makes sense that you can’t start over bc you’re using the same domain name. Google & Google search console will usually update based on your pages on its own. 301 redirects can help if the URLs have changed. Not ideal but hopefully that helps!
