- Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao is thought by many to be the pound for pound hardest kicker today. His roundhouse is absolutely crushing, and I was lucky enough to visit him at his gym and ask him the secrets behind it. As well as one of the coolest knockouts ever captured on film.

Forget heavy hands, try heavy legs, even when the oponents know its coming, it will land, and it will land just right.
Kicks are slow and waste of time also. I just do it just like diesselnoi when they throw a cross I throw a middle kick always.
They’ll keep either opponent honest
@@rockmetalband probably it's just your kicks being slow lil bro
@@rockmetalband you just kick slow. Work on that.
Try using spaces after your commas, like this, tidies it up a bit and makes you comment easier to read
Petch style is very sophisticated, it takes years of training to get this power. I always teach beginners the dutch style first, because its from my experience easier, and flows much better with boxing.
Rising inside lowkicks are great way to land low blows, be precise fellows.
My biggest question at the moment is, how does weight and bodytype affect the effectivness of a kick.
Dutch are real big people...no realy...
More weight generally means greater force. Longer legs make kicking a bit easier, especially teeps. Otherwise the principles of kicking are always the same.
I think it depends on the dexterity of a person's hips. If they can still turnover their hip without stepping out, I think the power will be comparable to the alternative.
I found easier petch style dutch style is hardo to me i am in that style right now look hard doing 8 combo with thousand of slips pivot angles
Looks like boxing and to me boxing is harder especialy the pressure style with high guard i prefer keep it long even in boxing i prefer Bivol over Canelo soviet over mexican thai over Dutch
He kicked him so hard in the thumbnail that he turned into stone.
This guy has powerful kicks for sure. But hes only got a few wins by KO and is a bit of a decision machine. Not to mention defensively very open up the middle, hence his last fight ending in a KO loss via front kick.
Thanks!
Bro literally controlled where and when his opponent will be and then executed him, took his head clean off
He is the Thai legend ❤❤❤
petch he's brother super lek ❤

Isn't his name just pronounced "Pet"? That's my experience with all other Thai fighters like Semapetch, Petchmorakot, etc.
That KO wasn't cool
Boxing has nothing on this. Nothing.
Thank you for the amaizng breakdown, Petch and myself really appreciate it. We look forward to seeing you train at Muay Thai Academy 🙏💯
As a South paw Nak muay, I was taught the "left kick with reckless abandon" strategy. Looks like Petch also shares that philosophy ❤️
Padwork for southpaws in Thailand, is Left Cross, Left Kick, Left Knee, Right Hook, Left, Left, Left
@@seokmin3292 why?
What is that strategy? :)
@FEAFi it's the one where u kick. A lot. And other moves like punches and teeps are used to set up the kick. Southpaws use this strategy cuz our left kick is our rear/power kick and naturally goes to high value targets like liver, arm, face and inside leg of fighters in an open stance. Gotta be in shape to use it well imo
WHAT?!?!?! Petch lives here in Vancouver?!?! CANADA?!?! i'm signing up asap.
now I know where you live. see u soon boi.
jk great vid.
that hop he sometimes adds to adjust distance, isn't that how Superbon ko'd Petrosyan? I might be mistaken but I think I remember Superbon sorta hopping in place just as he extended the leg on the ko kick.
I think you’re right. I remember Superbon hopping slightly backwards as he kicked.
@@someboi4903 this is the kind of stuff that would hype me up to train, of only my fucked up knee allowed it
Muay Thai roundhouse kicks are the best
This is a man Bruce Lee fears, Petchpanomrung trained one kick 10,000 times.
Training one kick a thousand times is the excellence of execution
I'm naturally right handed but I fought from southpaw stance and a left high kick is deadly in a street fight as well, especially if you have on steel toe boots...
You sound like a cool guy, please tell us more about your life as a great warrior of the keyboard.
@@jonnysongsLMAO
@@jonnysongsdon't need to say that. Why you try to be agressive to this guy ? It's not like he try to insult you or things like that
@@williamyuan8612that's not really smart...
Thanks for the amazing video ❤
I didn't know about this guy yet! I always learn alot from your channel...big inspiration for fans and old fighters! I will be looking forward to his fight! God bless the multiverse!
Holy shit that opening. This guy is horrifying 😳😢😕😬
Please make videos on Dwight Muhammad Qawi and Dmitry Pirog. Thank you
Amazing explanation, I really appreciate how you explain it with fighters in mind. I was practicing kicks in my bedroom while watching lol
Insaaaane. He went to his gym, this is rad, absolutely next level insight into a fighter technique. Thank you so much
Oof I'd rather take a Bas Rutten body shot than a Petch head kick. That looked maliciously hard.
Loma was robbed
I really love these videos. You can appreciate the skills involved in fighting like that.
Lefthanded too, like MANY good fighters.
Left FOOTED as well, in kickboxing it’s even more of a strength…. the liver shots!
Congrats, nice vid and hope you can still have more future vids like this with the fighter also with you in the vid
Good luck and keep ‘em coming bruh
YO PETCHPANOMRUNG LET’S GOOOO
TAKERU NEXT !??!?
being someone in his 50s doing kick boxing. I find hopping takes a lot of the back pain away from a roundhouse. also, my sure foot does a full 180 to take the twist and tension out of my leg and lower back muscles.
@ the modern matrial artist, When are you going to do a Wonderboy video?
Every fighter do had their own style and it all work so his are not that special but whatever 👏✌🏽
Now I understand how to throw kicks with my full body weight for maximum power 😊
*Wait...like Vancouver Bc????*
Kicked so hard my Internet can't load higher than 240p.

Is that the same guy that got KOd by saenchai ? In similar fashion and was smiling as he went down
it looks like a snap kick
Beautiful, while not the same, reminded me of Koaklai's KO on Mighty Mo.
Only thing that can stop a rock hard leg is a harder steel prosthetic leg.
You're going to enjoy training there - looks a good vibe.

Its insane seeing him delete people with the kick
I've just learnt a shitload. Thanks 👍
That sound of his kick hitting the pads is like a gunshot
kicked the dude so hard man fell on his knees hands together like he was praying his soul got into heaven if this was it for him
a literal hail mary prayer
Please do Wilfred “ el radar breakdown please bro

almost TKD in approach, but fully thai at the heart
@@user-eb2kv7bg4t This part in particular is TKD 101 3:27, you dont see this alot in Thai foot work when preparing for a round house, which is why he's making video on it.
The end result is the same Kinetic approach you see in TKD, but with the heart, philosophy and execution of Muy Thai. Best of all the worlds and the end result speaks for itself.
@@user-eb2kv7bg4t Steal techniques? Brother I know Muy Thai lmaoo, thats not basic Thai foot pattern, thats basic TKD foot pattern. thats why he's making a video about it, he even said it in the video loll right at 3:36 a few seconds later.
Thats not the only thing TKD about his approach either, but I take you dont actually practice martial arts do you? It wouldnt be worth mentioning otherwise.

You know there is another Vancouver 300 miles/500km away from the one you are talking about that is alternatively 1/3rd the size or 3x the size. It's probably worth specifying which one you are talking about since most of your viewers probably don't know if you are American or Canadian.
Is that you holding the pads m8?
Nah that's his coach. I did get to hold for him though, his power is nuts!

A I just bought your ebook mainly for boxing it’s a lot of help
Saaaiii Baaaaiiii
❤🙏👍
If you met him on the street he'd just look like an Asian bugperson. Pretty scary dude
Plzzz talk about Loma vs Haney ROBBERY
It's interesting, his kick reminds me of a TKD/Karate style roundhouse, at least for turning the hip over
Ouch he's powers is unrivalled but power outside the ring goes to Rose Lionel 🌹who has his own statue in Warragul, Victoria Australia.
petch has a gym in Vancouver? good for him. owning anything in vancouver isnt cheap, or so i hear.
Buy Davids books. They are legit.
There’s a saying ! NO! There is a Bruce Lee saying 🫵🏼😉👍
crazy how fahkumram in tekken really does show signs from all the muay thai greats
Imagine him doing a 540 tornado spin kick
People don't shove enough in kickboxing!
He do same 10k Kick a day
Thanks for this gym, it’s what I looking hi level gym
Another talented fighter break down
and he literally just does that every fight the whole time and they still cant counter it
They way you explain in makes his kicks very similar in principle to Taekwondo roundhouses, very very cool
It's a basic Muay Thai kick not a taekwondo roundhouse kick. Taekwondo roundhouse kicks are useless
You have no idea of what you're talking about.
@@ryu3019 clearly you've never seen good Taekwondo 😂 the variation in angles, distance adjustment with hops/slides, and particularly the lean back for distance are all staples in Taekwondo technique.
@@tacocatdeboss7665that isn't true taekwondo is useless.
@@tacocatdeboss7665 even karate is better than taekwondo
One of my wishes is to train in petch gym even one hour and see him when train
Many many thanks, i'm taking notes
You have too do one on the recent devin Haney vs vasiliy lomachenko

Tire Iron Kick!
This guy kicks
Can you be a right handed southpaw? In boxing
Sure it’s been done before and it is possible for you to find success in it - just be sure to iron things out with your coach so the end product is still sharp
Yes. Give it a try.
I like how his 'trainer' was trying so hard to seem like he knew what on earth he was saying. Well played mate!! 👍
His trainer speaks/is fluent in Thai
@@gspiderman69 If your point is that he can't speak/understand English, I'd say i find that hard to believe given they are in Vancouver, Canada.
😂😂😂 I'm half Thai half English, been speaking Thai since I was a kid, lived in Thailand 16 years, been with Petch over 8 years just FYI

saenchai's breakdown,please
I dont like throwing kicks that hard, Ive landed on the elbows, hip and shin too often 😅 I really only throw hard to the thigh or teeps because there's no bone to kick
