    I used to be one of the Cornette haters but over time I realized how much knowledge and experience he has in the business and I can respect that. Also his lack of filter always seems to make me laugh in one way or another.

      Thats funny...im exactly the opposite. I used to love Corny and his unfiltered ways. The more i listen to him though, the more i caught on to some of his hypocrisy. He will slam goofy gimmicks, exposing the industry, or backyard wrestling. Then he will praise a dude like Mick Foley. Mick 'Mr Socko' Foley. He has used goofy gimmicks like Socko. He has exposed the business, like entering the Rumble 3 times with all three of his gimmicks. It was done for a laugh and i have no problem with it but if it was anyone else other than Mick Foley, Corny would have an blown up. Then there's the Nestea Plunge, the dive off the Cell, hitting Terry Funk with a flaming chair, getting slammed on explosive tables...or his homemade videos with him diving off his roof as a teen. The dude was backyard wrestling before most people. But Cornette likes Mick, so it is all OK. And he is smart enough and talks fast enough to make it sound like he isnt being a hypocrit. But if you really listen to him for a loooong time, you realize its not what people do, it's all about if he likes the person, not so much what they do.
      He also reuses the same jokes over and over...and over. I hear that 'stranger in paradise' one again, i might break my phone.
      Alot of people are hypocrites though...i can ignore that. The way he likes to inject politics and religion into his rants though is extremely abrasive. The funny thing is, I happen to agree with his views. Im not a Trump fan and I'm definitely an atheist. But the way he goes about it, he believes everyone else that doesnt see things the same as him is an idiot. His smug superiority complex...it makes people that share his views look like assholes. And im not an asshole, people are entitled to their opinions and who am i to tell them they are wrong?
      Not to mention, no one listens to him for his political or religious expertise. He doesnt know fuck all about either, he used all his brain cells to study wrestling. And we listen for his vast knowledge on the subject.
      I think there is room in wrestling for a promotion that will run serious technical matches like Codys, comedy matches, luncha matches, hardcore matches and whatever else they want to do. It's not for everyone...but since Corny hates Omega, the Bucks, and Janela, he roasts majority of their stuff when it isnt all that bad. The thing has barely gotten off the ground and what they have done is impressive to me. But Corny will keep burying them because he doesnt like the VPs and probably wish Khan asked him to be one instead of Omega or the Bucks.

      Jacques Malan WWE hired them and sent them down to OVW. They would
      have succeeded had they been hired by WWE and sent to Memphis, HWA, FCW, Deep South, NXT or anywhere else. Corny did his job in helping to cultivate their talent, but it isn’t as if he is the only one who could have done that job.

    • @bodybysmod
      @bodybysmod 5 лет назад +1

      Jacques Malan
      1. He didn’t teach them to work. That was Danny Davis’ side of the business.
      2. I’m not saying that anyone off the street could have done what he did, but there are many others that can.
      3. They were charismatic wrestlers who benefitted from being brought up at a time when so many talents were stepping away from the business/dying/dealing with “demons”. Impressive, but hardly miraculous.

    • @bodybysmod
      @bodybysmod 5 лет назад +2

      Jacques Malan The guys you mentioned weren’t horrible, but no one could have made them top guys. They were quality middle of the card talent. They didn’t have the charisma that the 4 OVW guys did. But let’s actually take a minute and look at the rise of those four. Orton started fairly dull, but quickly became interesting as a heel. His promos were fairly top notch as a heel. Batista became a quality performer because he spent a couple years on the road with Flair and Hunter. The Batista that came out of OVW was meh. Lesnar is an athletic beast with a “I just might kill you if you annoy me” personality that shows. He is still a pretty retched promo. Cena became one of the most charismatic characters ever, but only after dropping everything his character was. Only Lesnar was an immediate star and that was going to happen period. The others were not ready despite spending years in OVW.

    • @RandalfElVikingo
      @RandalfElVikingo 5 лет назад

      @@bodybysmod Sorry dude, but Cornette produce them and you can't take that away That means: what moves are good for you, how you should carry yourself, how to do interviews, how to work (working in the sense of putting over a con) and stuff that made the wrestlers he and Davis trained valuable in both WWE and any other company at the time.
      People always suck Heyman off but he sucked in OVW and the only thing he did there was protecting Punk from WWE; John Laurinatis, or whatever his name is , destroyed developmental for a good amount of years, NXT has not produced any big stars yet (a guy on the same level as Cena, Batista, Orton or Lesnar and they have a lot of talented guys).

There was a veteran, an old french guy who had trained with Andre the giant in the past Who said to me "flips and dives are not the most difficult shit to pull out, its actually grappling and striking that are more difficult". The Guy gave me a chop later on to show me how to do it. The guy is like 75, and still has iron palms lmao. @Neocon Ingsoctrination there's one more aspect that makes the analogy a bad one:
      Corny is mostly concerned with the aesthetic of wrestlers, meaning if they look legit in the ring, i.e. Marco Stunt is just too small to be credible. but that says nothing about how good of a pro wrestler that person is, looks are just one aspect. in his comparison that would mean that people who are good pilots would be frowned upon cause they don't look like all the other pilots not because they lack the skill

    As I see it, the problem with most new wrestlers young or old today isn’t a lack of skill but a lack of effort. Sure there’s no comparing guys now to the 70s or 80s but most wrestlers have the know how. They CAN cut halfway decent promos but prefer gimmicks that don’t allow for it. They can grapple but they’d rather do dives. They do know the psychology but would rather follow a script. And the reason there’s more wrestlers than ever that flood the market is because it’s easy to do the least minimum required effort
