Like I said in the vid, I’ll def cover some bullpen arms throughout this month so stay tuned! But again, they can’t afford Mason Miller and it’s not a guarantee he gets moved
@@phillyinsiderpodcast i think we talked about this before. Clase from Clev, Rooker Oak, Gurriel Ari, Doyle Colorado are other options. Maybe i am to hopeful lol We shall see.GO PHILLIES!!
@Donlewis4683 Gurriel would be nice but just got signed to a new deal in AZ so I wouldn’t anticipate him being moved. I’m not a huge Brent Rooker fan tbh. Doyle has some elite defensive traits but has been better and is under team control for years so it’d be difficult to land him.
I wouldn’t be so mad at that move, and I get he gets on base, but he kind of is just Whit Merrifield 2.0, and we know how that experience is going right now. Wouldn’t be my first choice but if it comes to it, I would rather see him than Pache out there.
I’ve seen a lot of ppl on facebook compare him to Whit but the difference is this: Canha hits vs lefties and gets on base. Whit isn’t hitting vs lefties and was never really an on-base guy in the past. Canha owns an .820 OPS vs lefties over the last 2 years and has always worked walks at a pretty high rate.
@@phillyinsiderpodcast Honestly I just want guys that will hit for clutch. If Canha can do that then by all means. What is your opinion on Brent Rooker of the A’s as well? Basically a right handed Schwarber, would solve the left field situation but isn’t pretty out there. Having a pretty good year for the A’s as well.
Yeah Canha is solid with RISP, he could probably come thru in some spots. Since any potential acquisition will likely be at the bottom of the lineup, I just want quality ABs.
Rooker is definitely having a good year and was solid last year as well. Good power. I just don’t see a place for him to start here since he’s really poor defensively in the outfield and we already have a DH. Not sure how he’d do with less consistent playing time too. Canha I like bc he isn’t playing everyday and could probably do well in a platoon role.
@@phillyinsiderpodcast Good point man! I agree that we do need a guy who cashes in with RISP and gives you quality at bats, as strikeouts and situational hitting have been our Achilles heel.
Just to clarify, they are not. This is not reporting but rather a suggestion. As I mentioned in the video, I have no idea whether the Phillies would have interest or not.
I know the guy morphs into Ted Williams when he plays the Phillies, so it might be a good thing in that respect to have him on board, but otherwise a hard pass from me.
@seanfitzpatrick9392 unfortunately not going to happen. Matt Gelb said the Phillies will definitely not pursue Pham. Robert is likely going to be too expensive for them.

Kevin Long might be able to get Canha back on track. He's a smart baserunner, which I like.
Agreed! Solid base runner for sure
Common W vid. We like Canha.
Let’s go, Ben
Ben Ballknower
IMO, We need relief pitching. Mason Miller is the priority. I realize it will cost us but def worth a proven closer.

@Donlewis4683 Would shock me if Cleveland traded Clase. Elite closer for one of the best teams in baseball. Wouldn’t make sense imo

@Donlewis4683 Go Phils!
Cannha might be the answer. He always hitts in the clutch.
Would be a good platoon for sure
There's only one player I want, and that guy is Mason Miller
I think you will probably be disappointed come July 30th

Why are the Phillies asking for Mark Canha?😐

But he’s a met 🤢
Actually, he’s not! He’s with Detroit

I don’t see many downsides to it tbh
@@phillyinsiderpodcast I'd rather do a combo Luis Robert/Tommy Pham deal
