I only found this song and band yesterday. I've recently been saved and I know EXACTLY what they are talking about. So powerful.
+ Conspiracy2Chrst I made it to 3min.+turned it off. The words written were OK,but the music was cursed in my opinion. Screaming, the deep devil voice,and zero melody doesn't at all make me think of the gospel of Jesus or give me any sense of peace,hope,faith, joy or praise. It made me want to throw a chair through my window. Have you researched anything about "John Todd" I think his name is? I had to reevaluate everything I've ever listened to in my whole life. Just be aware of all music,and in my experience,anything labeled Christian has to be REALLY evaluated.You stay on your walk with the Lord even if you ever get bamboozled by a phoney Christian, organization, or church. You cling to Jesus anyway,Conspiracy2Christ!
Nancyray777 the thing about that is the bible never says anything about what gospel music should sound like because god is not a god that forces us to be unhappy. He understands that he had created everyone uniquely and he leads people, like the people in this band, to speak to a certain peoples or a certain person's heart. This may not appeal to you and that's okay, but do you think someone who has loved music like this all their life, who has been helped by the power in this genre (secular or not) is going to want to worship a god who takes it away from them and makes them listen to church hymns? Of course not. God loves all musical worship, even if it is screaming. It appeals to the people who would be less likely to find him. I know this may not make sense, but heavier christian music than this is what god put in my life to show he was there.

Taylor Register There are 20+ reference's in the bible about music, and what music God likes. Try Ecclesiastes 7:5 for starter's. I'm so thrilled about anyone who wants to praise the Lord. Music is very powerful,and can be used to praise or dishoner God. Again I liked the lyrics, but they didn't match up with the braincell numbing tune and screaming isn't singing. Unless its Rodger Daltrey (The Who) Lol! I know we all have our own opinions, and personal preference's to music,I'm just saying so does God,and he bothered to write it down for us that's all. Not saying that is whats going on with all heavy music, but all of us need to learn more about this phenomenon and be aware of it, imo.
this song always reminded me of how my father used to act, he was a bad man and he did very bad things but he promised me that he would be better but he died just days after, this song always makes me think of how even when you've done so many bad things god could always forgive. i was just 5 years old when this happened and i listen to this song every day as a memory

I found Christ only about 6 months ago, and after listening to this song I could totally relate. Basically I didn't want anything to do with God for 6-7yrs of my life, but as soon as I turned to him looking for his love he answered. He gave me a sign, a big one at that and that was when I knew God never left my side even when I had left his. He always kept watching, protecting me. He didn't care what happened in my past, he took me in anyways. He showed me what love truly was. I was a Dead Man.
why are christian metal bands often sooo good ?
Because they do it not for themselves, but they do it as a mission to spread the word of God through songs! They're using their talents as how God wants them to.
Because they actually believe in what they put to music, and that passion shows through.

August Burns Red, Texas In July, For Today, Wolves At The Gate, Impending Doom, Becoming The Archetype, and War Of Ages are simply amazing bands. Not only is their music fantastic but also they DO NOT shy away from this idea of actually praising the Lord. These guys are definitely not ashamed of the gospel at all. They know who gave them the ability to make music and they do it for Him!

Wow! You guys are something special. I haven't heard such a perfect mix of clean/unclean vocals in any band that I can think of. Lyrics were very heartfelt and well written too. I'm not a Christian but I can appreciate when musicians pour their heart out into their music and recognize the beauty of it.
As Christians our God tells us to share the good news of the gospel. Some people might seem aggressive about their belief in God towards others, and they might be. But as I said God tells us to share the gospel. Because of this it's hard to not say what we belief. And also the fact that what you believe influences the way you think and talk. I know this is just RUclips, but I appreciate you calming people down.

Way to not understand the point of the song. It's about being figuratively "dead" because we're all sinners, standing opposed to God Himself. This is a song admitting just that.

My biggest wish is for this band to come to South Africa. They are my all time favourite band. I am blessed to have been intoduced to them 3 years ago by my best friend. There is not one song of them that i dont know or dont like. Its perfect music. And words deeper than the scars that life cause you.

It does when taken out of context. In context, God is speaking to the Israelites telling them not to mark their bodies for the dead. They were verses meant just for the Israelites. The verse directly before it reads "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." The verses were meant for Israelites back in the day, and they don't apply to us nowadays.

gotcha. I think my whole thing I'm caught up on is that it depends on the circumstances related to not being a virgin. If he had sex out of marriage etc..... before becoming a christian than that is fine or if he has sex in a moment of temptation then we all sin. However, if he's intentionally having sex out of marriage and not having remorse about it at all then I would question if he is or not. Because the bible specifically states not to have sex outside of marriage very clearly.
