I am 1 year and 9 months free of drugs, because God helped me get out of my hole my demons dug for me. His love is better than any high I ever felt. ♥️✝️
I am late, both in replying to this and discovering this band, but congrats on the sobriety, may you continue it with the Lord's blessings and presence for the years to come.
You ever just know that God has blessed the band 100% in ways to relay His message to others in the sincerest way possible? This is the band I feel that from the most. Keep using your talents for God's glory brothers
This song is so good at putting you directly in Peter's shoes, and showing us we would probably fail in the same way Peter did. Thankful for our Redeemer, Jesus!
Ben Buckwalter we all fall, the key is rising up from what tears us from him. Riding ourselves of worldly causes and desires even if it hurts. That’s what Jesus meant to follow him. The life of a believer and Christian is not easy especially when the devil ransoms you, sometimes even by your own flesh. The word speaks of putting God first above all else. Yet we all fail. Our wants to succeed and to provide and protect may blind us when he calls us out. I been there. I struggle daily. This song portrays just that. We are no different and the science of our mind works around this. Yes he loves us as a bottomless abyss. I just saw these guys a couple weeks ago and what the lead singer said hit me hard. I as a Christian raised and born again fall daily but I know I am loved and for that I encountered the Holy Spirit and repent. We tear our garments over and over again and he still loves us and comforts us of our torments. We are nothing to his feet but he loves us as we are scum.
It is always sad however how so many sermons seem to bash Peter because he "did not have enough faith" when in fact he was the only disciple to get up while the other hid in fear. We gotta give credit to Peter for having such faith in Jesus. But I do not believe most people would even be in Peters shoes most would be hiding in fear of the storm, myself possibly included only time and testing will show me which disciple I will become.
I’ve never heard a rock song and cried out of praise for God. Honestly this is different from secular rock. I’ve been praying to God for a band that has a genuine real rock sound and actual biblical truths that don’t lead me astray from Jesus and this is it. Thankyou to this band AND GLORY TO GOD for answering my prayers.
Almost a year later and I don't know what I'm doing with my life. I don't know what I'm doing with my life. I'm back after making a huge mistake Again.
@@shyguy585whydoineedalastna6 This may be a bit late but the Lord is always there watching over us. We all always fall short of the Kingdom, but never forget that the relationship we seek with God requires communication. Ask for forgiveness and you shall receive. God bless you brother in Christ
Shy Guy 585 why do I need a last name this life is vanity, fleeting and passing, I pray God helps you keep a desperate need for Jesus, trust alone in Jesus. Don’t depend on anything but Him, Live for Him, His mercies are new ever morning
Same man it hit me deep before I even consciously took in the lyrics . When I pulled them up it made so much more sense and just proved Gods Spirit was moving without me having to be conscious .
Just an example of how some gems are hidden within YT. Gorgeous. We actually had two people cover your version at our wedding. Thank you and please keep singing
This song isn't as heavy as a lot of their other ones, but it is easily one of my favorites. I hope they do more songs like this, written from the viewpoints of Biblical characters. I think a hard-hitting song could be done from the viewpoint of Paul as he reflects in prison on his life, where he came from and the kind of man he was, and where the Lord brought him and bestowed upon him such mercy and grace.
Amen man that’s a great idea ! Do you write ? Cuz I’d love to hear what you could come up with from Paul’s perspective. I’d love to put something like that to music . Maybe I’ll try to give that a shot . I write and play but my style is mostly abstract and not story telling .
Some guy in one of the songs idk which one said that WATG songs were too lyrically religious and let me just say thankyou to the band for standing bold with truth, I don’t read the lyrics and think it can have a second meaning, I read them and know their for God and it’s the best thing in the world to see real bible believing and God fearing Christians making sound music God bless this band and it’s listeners and all believers everywhere may the peace of Jesus reside in you
This has been one of my favorite songs by WATG (tho I love all of them) but just now, I'm led to this song again while contemplating John 21 to share at our church. Can't contain God's love!!
The insight that these guys have in to the perspective from Peter's life is amazing. Many times we are just like Peter, and even Judas, for the most part we are like all the disciples in the fact that we would betray Jesus the same way they did. Thank God that His Mercy and Grace is everlasting. We would truly be nothing without Him. O LOVE you bottomless abyss.
one of my favorite songs ever. i love this so much, i've listened to this probably a hundred times and it still feels like it speaks to my very soul every time i listen. so beautiful
I just heard this song for the first time yesterday, and I’ve jammed it 8 times since. Seriously, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music (and lyrics) I have ever listened to.
I like how much this portrays Peter’s arrogance, and then goes into the points where he was humbled by things he did wrong, and then how he receives forgiveness. I also like the hypocrisy of “I’m well versed in forgiveness” and “attack my king, my blade you reap” and then that is where the video starts dirtying the sphere.
this band is so amazing, it moves something in me~ I'm not a believer and when my depression kicks in I kind of end up always listening to wolves at the gate. Hey, I just wanted to let you know that "if" is a word of doubt. Stand on God's promises and not on what you're feeling. "He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases." Psalms 103:3 NLT
4:55 sounds a lot like Joel from Being As An Ocean This album is great. Finally getting around listening to all their music and at least for the first 3 albums, this is definitely the best. Cool to see how they’ve grown

Anyone know the symbolism of the salting bloody ball? Only thing I can think of is we are to be the salt of the earth and washed clean by the blood of Christ
how to have eternal life in heaven when your body dies and have a relationship with the God who loves you as you are ~ John 6:27-29 " Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law." ~Romans 8:1-4" Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[b] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.[c] And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." ~Romans 7:1-6 "Do you not know, brothers and sisters-for I am speaking to those who know the law-that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives? 2 For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. 3 So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man. 4 So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. 5 For when we were in the realm of the flesh,[a] the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death. 6 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code." the word 'repent' in the original greek "metanoeó: to change one's mind or purpose" that is often used in the bible, it's meaning and which verses it appears in, biblehub.com/greek/3340.htm 1

I've met a multitude of people who think that way. I always turn to scripture for my response. Specifically where it talks about making a joyful sound. It never says what the sound must be only that it be joyful. For me I find joy in Metal and heavy rock. Each to his own ya know.
Benjamin Carroll - That makes sense and was very well said. I do think, however, that it may be contradictory to say what you just said (that Christians can use music to glorify God regardless of genre) while also saying that you agree with his dad (who says that all music within certain categories/genres is inherently evil). Does that make sense? Maybe I just misunderstood what you meant there. That aside, I wholeheartedly agree with what you said and think that music should not be automatically discounted as bad just because of its sound. Songs like this can in fact be used to glorify God and can evoke emotional responses and intensity that may not be conveyed the same through different styles. That said, we should be careful what we expose ourselves to and how it affects us. I don't really listen to any metal or hardcore that is not, at the very least loosely centered around Christian messages since I believe that its often, as you said, rebellious against God and often carries negative, rebellious, and nihilistic messages that may cause me to stumble or may have a negative effect on me spiritually/emotionally. All that said, I love bands like Wolves at the Gate and Disciple (another strongly Christian 'metal' band) and believe that they are doing some amazing things.

All that said, I love bands like Wolves at the Gate and Disciple (another strongly Christian 'metal' band) and believe that they are doing some amazing things.
God bless heal and save you
