Very helpful thanks! Don't forget to put a long stick in so the critters who fall in have a way out. Dragonflies like a perch post as well from what I've read, another good reason for a long sturdy stick. Thanks again for the guidance.
I would like to see what the pond looks like now? Have you made a way for animals to clime out? We’ve build one in yesterday, but is yet to finish with water, stones on the edge and plants. Greetings from the Netherlands
Looking great ray once establised and planted up hopefully spring you'll have frogs. Iv a pond in my garden at home as I keep koi . goldfish. Golden Rudd. Trench. Bream.fantails. great in the summer sitting in the gaden
Ray get aquatic plants from garden centres who sell fish. Oxergenateing plants such as chadian duck weed grows quick just need to cut back when gets to big and get more plants from them you sink sink them innthe shelves in bunches in a pot. Just remember to peat free compost I no you put fish in but things like newts frogs ect will prefer peat wont harm them. Plant lilies they have nice flowers in the summer.. grasses the list is endless. Come summer buddy it will be alive with nature look forward to the progress.
Isn’t it amazing what you can get off freecycle? I used an upturned water butt stand sunk into the ground on my allotment and within a year I had toads,, 🐸🐸🐸
