My approach to sand bottom paint is to have a hose in hand and one of those articulates drywall sanding pads (fitted with a coarse mesh) on a stick and wet sand the bottom to avoid raising clouds of toxic dust which will coat everything (including the neighbour's boat!). Stern apparatus is called a bumkin.
I don't own a boat or never been on a boat but I've watched all your videos last year and I'm feeling pumped up that you guys are getting back into. I look forward to any new content
Buy a bottle of ON/OFF and a plant sprayer. Adjust the sprayer to send out a mist and fill it half with water and half with ON/OFF (very acidic; I never use it at full strength). Once your yard has the water on and it's a calm day (you don't want the acidic mist blowing into your face) go around spraying the brown ICW moustache. By the time you have sprayed it on it will almost be time to rinse it off. Trouble areas may need a second application.
As a WISP for the last eight years in the Cotswolds UK, Ubiquiti kit has served us well and still does, but the marine side of life is something im branching into independently so cant really speak about these set ups other than i think you are heading down the right track with an omni and a more powerful directional Aë
I'd love to see an updatable tech spread sheet with say minimum requirements/nice requirements/dream requirements and latest and greatest for each system on a boat. You could do affiliate links for purchasing. Why run wire when you can now do wifi sort of stuff. Tx for the videos, keep them coming.
Hey guys with corona going on and all I was wondering how cruisers deal with health, doctors, sicknesses, etc. I've never seen any other channels talk about it maybe you could be the first to shed some light on how cruisers deal with health issues!? P.s. I've just binged watch your entire channel I'm from Detroit and hope to take a similar path in a sv one day!! You guys are real and rock 🤘🤙
If you wish to use better electrical connectors, look at Deutsch Connectors. They are easy to makeup and are used in environmentally hostile conditions. They are IP68 rated, ie. immersible in 3 ft of water without degradation. Well worth the money. Check out RUclips videos to see how to make up the connection. Would recommend solid machine connectors vs crimp style. They are bulletproof
I would have suggested the Bad Boy Extreme from BitStorm but I see that they have had to shut down due to the coronavirus. They are selling the remaining inventory.
It looks tired but remember what Ferris owning something this great: Ferris: Mr. Rooney would never believe Mr. Peterson drives that piece of s***. Cameron: It's not a piece of s***. Ferris: It is a piece of s***! Don't worry about it, I don't even have a piece of s***! I have to envy yours. Cameron: Oh, thanks.
really confused how you guys afford to do this.. while most of us are all living paycheck to paycheck, how do you go above that and have the thousands in reserve to go out and do this?

Clean the yellow stuff off the hull with muriatic acid. Works wonders on the marine growth as well. Get a spray bottle and stand upwind.

Nice to see you again Tim. May I suggest for next winter placing a aquarium heater in the bilge!! I call it my bilge saver. Good to see ya.
Hope all is well with you guys! Been watching some of your earlier videos ...just to keep me sane during the quarantine! :)
Love ya guys!
Just get the Baby K retubed! That is a lot less expensive than a new dinghy.
Weather seems nice there; mostly gloomy here in Minnesota
Would love to see the Mississippi trip!! you mentioned it in an earlier episode Tim!
We are working our way through your videos. We can’t get any audio on episode 45. All others play back fine. Thanks. Enjoying your show,
Lucky! You can get down to your boat! We've been told by our marina NOT to come to the boat for the next two weeks! :(
Just put 2 vhf in 1 for back up but definitely 1 on the mast

The last time I had a boat with a structure out the stern it was called a boomkin. It looked like a bowsprit in reverse.

Boat looks good but will not sail to windward very well and I don't like taking care of wood! Less working more sailing :)
we may see grass like this in another month after the feet of snow melt off our lawns.
What kind of boat was that and how long?
Dare I make a suggestion: Waterproof connectors for your coaxial cables.

It’s called a bumkin on that boat next door ,
Looks like a hans Christian Christina with a telestar keel
You guys should do a love chat for fun we could play a game
For a decent Wifi Long range Omni directional, look at a ubiquiti set up

Use a product called On and Off and it will just wipe off.
Where will you be sailing to this Summer?
I heard somewhere recently that the more she is moored, not moving, the more the bottom will be fouled. True?
I so want to buy a boat,
