103 dismounted everything, let’s do ambient with only Chaos, Plaits, Rings, Natural Gate and Beads !

I didn't really know in which direction to go with my big system... You would think that with 6x84hp you can do everything! In fact, I had the impression of always going the same way. So I disassembled everything to assemble a set that fits in a single 84hp box.
I can only recommend starting from something very simple!
Here is the setup:
- 1x Clank Chaos for note generation
- 2x Mutable Instruments Plaits and 1x Rings for vocals
- 1x Rabid Elephant for envelopes
- 1x Alyseum Q-Mix for mixing
- 1X Mutable Instrument Beads for transformations
The manipulations:
The system works on its own, in a sort of generative way. The Beads add the magic with the punctuations. I wanted to use the 2HP Seq to transpose the notes of Chaos, but that will be for another time, it's quite nice like that!

Je ne savais plus vraiment dans quelle direction aller avec mon gros système... On pourrait croire qu'avec 6x84hp on peut tout faire ! En fait j'avais l'impression de toujours faire le même chemin. J'ai donc tout démonté pour assembler un ensemble qui tient dans un seul boitier de 84hp.
Je ne peux que recommander de repartir de quelque chose de très simple !

Le système fonctionne tout seul, de manière générative en quelque sorte. Le Beads ajoute la magie avec les ponctuations. Je voulais utilise le 2HP Seq pour transposer les notes du Chaos, mais ce sera pour une autre fois, c'est assez joli comme ça !

From my experience, i think starting with 62hp can be rapidly limiting, especially if you want to stay with one case in the future. Here, i use a Roland case that is 84hp. If i had to start again, i will choose a larger case like 104hp.
In these patch, all modules are used, except the 2hp Seq.
For this patch, the main module is the Clank Chaos, a module i really love. It generates the notes and triggers...
There're three voices : 2 Plaits, a 1 Rings. One Plaits is for the "bass", the second one is for "melody". Rings is also a center module in every case because of the sound it can generate.
The enveloppes are done with the Natural Gate, that is two LPG that can have different behaviors.
Effects are done with Beads. this one can work like a reverb or a sort of echo or a combination of this. this one is the evolution of clouds, that can be found in many cases. it is slightly different from clouds but quality is higher.
Pan and mixing is done by Q-Mix, a small mixer. I mix everything prior to send everything to Beads. I use Beads as an output, that is not a good choice because of the level of the output signal. It would be better to use a proper output module that can prevent the signal being too hot for the amplifier. (that's why a slightly larger case would be great 😊)

I keep hearing the same, that 62hp could be limiting, but what if I want to make it do one thing. Like have one voice, play chords/melodies and some fx aid and the ability to sync via midi with my Digitakt? I guess that’s doable with a smaller case?
What do you think it would be missing with a 62hp (plus 1U row) ?

@@newflanged_ sure you can make something great with 62hp ! with the palette you have this "one more U row" 😊 ans it is a good idea to build small systems. having many will help you to have more comprehensive voices ! you certainly have an idea on where you want to go ! so go ! hope to hear your results soon 😊

@@luvdattek yeah, I want a system that can play along with my Digitakt via MIDI (I guess that’s doable with modular). Digitakt can cover all the sampling and drums and I want cool effects and melody generation/chords with my modular. That’s my ideal setup in mind! :) If it’s performance-oriented, even better :)
