Playing Volca Keys with lots of Valhalla Shimmer over a simple string melody I made with the "Adagio Strings Expressive" patch in Omnisphere. I processed that with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch to make it lusher. Bandcamp: remixsample.ba...
The Volca Keys resembles the Minilogue saw tooth wave form in many ways so I really didn't need to buy the Keys but it's the only Volca product that has a "full ribbon keyboard" that also sends midi notes after a minor modification (soldering a midi cable on to the PCB board). Anyways, I hope you enjoy this ambient synth jam session.

Love this one. With the reverb has a Blade Runners Blues vibe
The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long. And you have burned so very very bright.

Did...did this guy die?

Bro you Volca chilling sound is "teleporthing" me in to all my life memories from the beginning as small kid to present by just closing my eyes an listing to it. Perfect way to go back in time and review all the beautiful stuff and chill
Awesome! Thank you!
😢 I feel this too but from another lifetime. Evokes such heartfelt emotions ❤️
this is exactly what it does to me too!
You just convinced me to buy my own Volca keys.
Roberto Centeno my Volca arrived today!!! Excited!

Don't forget a healthy dose of a very nice stereo Reverb
@@LoVeAmBiEnT any recommendation?
Usual bladerunner comment, but wow, good work man.
one of my favorites of all times, honestly! Thank you!
Hey! I'm glad you like it! Cheers! 🙏
Every day i sail RUclips seas I always discover a piece of music from you that takes me to places I'd like to stay forever. This is the music that makes me to forget all these awfaul moments. Thank you very much, RemixSample. 😉
Glad it helps! Thanks for listening!
A very good use of this little box, bravely playing on the tiny ribbon kbd, with consciousness. Thumbs up 👍👍
Thanks a lot! 🙏
I love how you take a piece of electrical equipment and create something greater than music with it.
Lovely as always
This is awesome ! I love it ! I just got one and while I enjoyed the Volca series with the Beats and Bass, I just couldn't get pleasant sounds out of the Keys, too easy to drift into siren like noises. You just proved me wrong. How versatile can be this small cheap device is amazing ! now for me to work on it.
Thanks for sharing this 🙂
I agree with you! I needed a lot of effects to make the Keys sound like I wanted too. It's great at what it does tho, saw waves! :D
@@RemixSample ahah I missed the shimmer effect in the description, I watched a few other demos with similar effects and wow amazing how it'll smooth out everything yet retaining the original tone. I should try that for sure 😃
I hit a dead end with the keys at first. Then revisited and it’s been singing ever since.
Like a big hug, so rich and warm feeling !!!
Beautiful!
sweet track! reverb. the effect that makes any synth amazing xD
Love it. Thinking of buying into the Volca range but practically every vid has effects units so it's hard to get a handle on how they sound by themselves without extra kit.
It's a very basic sounding synth to be honest. It's a saw wave in different flavors. I prefer the Volca FM to the Keys because it can generate a lot of different sounds including simulating the sounds of the Keys. Effects are still a must to get the most out of these synths though. If you don't wanna mess around with the computer you can use a cheapish fx pedal like the Zoom MS-70CDR
@@RemixSample Thanks!
Heavenly sounds.i didn’t think such a small thing like the volca can have such a huge sound.
It's all thanks to the Valhalla Shimmer reverb valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-shimmer/
good stuff man, quite unique style you got, very inspiring.
Cheers! I'm glad you like it!
Damn, that is some great music. Well done.
Thank you! :D
Thank you! This is what I needed to hear!
great sounds! it's lovely to listen to.
AND I especially want to say this comment section is the most useful and helpful I have ever seen!

J'ai le keys, le fm et le bass depuis que je regarde tes vidéos et je vais m'offrir le mix par la suite. 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Yesss! More Volca Masterclass!

Such a great little box the Volca keys. You’re really showing how useful it can be in the right hands. Beautiful track.
Thank you Thomas!
This is lush man.
Nice work sir, reminded me of the end of Bladerunner

Dam sexy, listening to this I have thoughts of Bladerunner...
beautiful.. just beautiful. Nice work.
Thanks for listening Peter!
like this little one too
Your music is so inspiring! PLEASE, WE NEED MORE!
why are you not monetizing this ? is so beautiful
You could work for CD Projekt Red in Cyberpunk 2077! :)
No kurwa!
This comment didn’t age very well
@@andremenor2576 there are upcoming DLCs, so, theoretically they can add more music to the game
beautiful
Thank you!
Everybody keeps talking about reverb ... but it's still just a noun to me. Lush stuffs man. :)
Thanks! =)
Sounds so magical! Love it!
Thank you!
SO VANGELIS! ❤
Exelente maestro👋
Amazing the quality of your music here on this instrument. I have a number of synths but I hadn't thought of getting the Volca Keys. I am tempted. I have the Korg Volca FM2, Volca Drum, MicroKorg, Korg Wavestate, Modwave and Opsix.
Thanks! That's a nice set of gear you got there. I would also consider the Volca Bass if you don't mind a monophonic synth. It's really nice for leads and it has tunable oscillators so you can tune them into chords and fat basses as well. I have a couple of videos with it if you are curious: www.youtube.com/@RemixSample/search?query=volca%20bass
@@RemixSample hmmm good suggestion! I'll look into it. Thanks.
I get lost in every one of your videos!!
Sounds like a 40-piece orchestra!
What a blast! I love your music Man!
Thanks for listening" :D
Beautiful
Thanks FoggyG!
so simple, but so powerful, and only 2 instruments!
Very bladerunner, i love it
Lovely
Tackar! 🙏
Makes me fly. Can you give directions to the pinout and where to solder the cable on the PCB? Thank you in advance. Thumbs UP and one more Subscription!!! GOOD JOB!!!
Thank you Carlos! You can check out this Volca Keys midi mod guide: www.marcushamblett.co.uk/volca-keys-midi-out-mod-step-by-step/2015/04/04/
Beauty vibes👍
This is magical. Thank you
This is very good stuff !
I never knew how capaple the Volca Keys was.
Well, most of the magic in this video is thanks to the Valhalla Shimmer reverb. The Volca Keys is kinda limited in my opinion but with the right effects it sounds pretty cool!
Super beautiful my dude
Thx Jimmy!
This is bloody amazing.
Beautifully done
Just found this. Seems very complex but beautifully simplistic. Amazing reverb. Thanks for sharing
brilliant
Thank you!
Brilliant work dude..... wonderful scapes....
Thanks!
You could play a kazoo through that reverb and it would probably sound as good.
It would.
Don't know Vangelis used Volcas. Now I know.
Nice work!
Thanks!
Interesting. Like an alternate reality Vangelis.
Incredible man respect i'm learning!
This is beautiful i love it !
grat track, amazing sound
Excellent work
Beautiful and soothingly wonderful!
Superb..............so is the only way you can achieve this with the Volca keys.................through doing the midi mod ? Have subscribed
No you can do this without any modification. You're gonna need to add some reverb though. I used Valhalla Shimmer in this video but I also recommend the free Supermassive reverb valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-supermassive/
Vivendo e aprendendo , Muito Obrigado,,,,
Tem um bom dia! XD
Ambient eyes wide open
J'adoreeee
gold
Very nice one!
Oh, this is gorgeous
Great work! Fantastic :) 👍
How do you get the layers of different sounds, beautiful btw. I've just bought one on the back of watching this and mine isn't singing like this yet.
Let us into your settings.
I go into more depth in the description of the video but basically it's just lots of reverb, the vst plugin I use is called Valhalla Shimmer valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-shimmer/
RemixSample I remember reading this now one of the many previous times I listened to it. I think it's time I tried a DAW, I've been trying to keep things simple and stay away from computers but I'm missing out.
I have both the most recent elecrtibes, drum/sampler and synth, a Korg microsampler, micro Korg, volca beats, kaos pad and tonight's new buy volca keys so I've no excuse. My mates just bought an ms20 and a monologue, can't wait to get them all together .
An inexpensive alternative to Valhalla Shimmer would be the Zoom CDR-70 effect pedal. If you want to spend more money the Ventris Dual Reverb pedal is an amazing option.
Ive had the keys 3 days now and wow there are some beautiful sounds in there, combined with the sequencer for some hypnotic sonic hi jinx.
The best option for a hardware pedal is the Strymon Big Sky if you don't wanna use Valhalla Shimmer. Big sky is expensive but the best there is.
awesome stuff
Thanks!
Excellent!
Awesome sound.
Wonderful!
Inspirational!
Good! :D
Err...subbed! Beautiful!
If i had a wife as beautiful as this sound
You and cat noises! Love it!
magnifique
yeah the Reverb actually really makes the whole sound here. The Volca is just a side-note :P
Word!
I like this
Very lovely
Hey Funk Tree, thanks for stopping by. =)
always inspiring
Impressive
Fckn same Blade Runner. Lovely Vangelis
blade runner, love this
Nice and relaxing
sounds good, that Valhalla shimmer is powerful. but.... readers of the comments let it be known the digital VST "Valhalla shimmer" run from your DAW is pulling a lot of the weight in regards to the sound, and he also didn't even make the sequence on the keys, so yes, the keys is technically being used here but quite minimally.
Yes and all the info is in the video description.
@@RemixSample it sounds good and I wasn't trying to detract at all -- you know what you're doing with various tools, and every musician combines gear. The way it is shot kinda makes it feel like its on its own, and my comment was for that potential newbie who didn't read (or understand) the description and immediately bought one thinking it would sound like that hahah. A lot of people who catch the hardware-synth-jam bug fall victim to that notion. I like the sounds and the vibe of the presentation though I will subscribe.
@@RemixSamplelol I watched more of it again and realized more than I thought is being generated by the keys. I think I was looking at a spot where the backing strings were very present. Anyways, the second half was giving me HUGE BladeRunner vibes!!??--- the original1980s version with Harrison ford. If you don't know it, check it out and you'll see what I mean hahaha.
@@d3maccus Thanks! I appreciate that!
Cool Sound :)
