Legendary day out, and a legendary bottle. I love we all got one., and I lugged mine all the way back to Japan! Great review - I share your enthusiasm for this dram.
I bet that was a DREAM to crack open once you got back. What an amazing day… thank you so much mate. Absolutely loved it. We’ll have to come to your neck of the woods next time! 🥃🥃🥃
Thanks for reviewing and reviewing this one, Ben. Interesting? Yes A whisky dor me? A more than resounding 'No' (especially after mentioning the summit of horror: tiramisu....brrrr!) So I'm happily leave it to others to try it out. Slàinte mhath
I have the same problem with Arbikie Highland rye . It's a new distillery and produces non age statement whiskey starting from£95 up to £250 a bottle. Can it really be worth that kind of premium. That is why I would like someone to review its offering and you seem to be the man to answer my question . Another top review. Cheers
I've got 2 bottles of the Ex Bourbon batch 3 51.6 ABV and very nice it is too. It goes to show the Distillery doesn't have to be in a Scottish Glen with water running of the hills to make good whisky.
Can’t disagree! English whisky is definitely on the up and I have had some stunning drams from distilleries outside of Scotland, for sure. There still seems to be a pricing issue, though. I had some great liquid from The English too, but the stuff I really liked was not cheap at all!
It’s a shame… because honestly the liquid is lovely, on both counts. I’d definitely be more inclined to pay the right money for a Bimber if you can get it at the right price/RRP. It really is delicious, but some of the secondary market prices are just wild.
Bimber has been on my to try list for a while but bottles are hard to come by and usually twice the price of msrp. This release would be 188€ on secondary 😩 what are the other Bimber releases you’ve tried?
Exactly! I’ll dig out the list of what we had at the tasting for you, it was all very very nice, to be honest, but some of the prices a little steep for me. I do have a “re-charred oak casks” bottle here I sniped at auction for like £55. It’s absolutely delicious for £55… but it’s apparently about £160 a bottle RRP, which I wouldn’t pay for it.
@@mattmckay9114 Excellent! I still got a deal then! I'd probably pay £65 for it again. It's lovely. I do wish there was liquid kicking about at that price. I can find a good few bottles online which I assume are re-sellers going for upwards of £200 a bottle. It's a shame it can't be in more peoples hands!
@@itsgoodjuice Watch this space Ben - we'll have something coming in a few months time that a lot more people will be able to get their hands on to enjoy
Nooo!!!! Man, everyone I know seems to really like it. Anything in particular or just generally not grabbing you? I’ll take that bottle of your hands though…. 😏 Haha cheers! 🥃🥃
Owner of Bimber in Prison, being extradited to Poland on alleged murder charges and living in uk under a fake name and passport - plus charges may follow re drugs and trading standards as to which country the whisky was really made in
Apologies that is absolutely my bad, I don’t remember exactly how much I paid but it was around that. I should have said “£70-ish”. I will update the description.
As far as I know from my Polish colleague, "bimber" is a moonshine-type-of vodka that they make from potatoes in Poland. It's homemade and definitely not a brand of whisky. I mean, come on, it's like me naming my distillery "Rakia" - sounds dumb and is plagiaristic.
An absolute dream team outing! Really lucky to have had this shared by Vin as boy it is fantastic! Great review as always fella!
Yeah man you know it!! It’s absolutely incredible stuff, and the price on this is about where I would be willing to pay. ♥️🥃
That was a quality day out!
It was indeed!

I love all of my Bimber bottles... 😊
Ben the bully🤣 Not had a Bimber either, apart from a wee 10ml sample of one once. Love your enthusiasm for this one mate. Cheers.
Thanks brother!!! Well he was nice about it at least. Lovely liquid! Cheers dude!! 🥃🥃🥃
@@itsgoodjuice love to see how well you’re doing in all things whisk(e)y. No better man🥃

Never had a macallan for the exact reason as bimber

@@itsgoodjuice The Re-charred Oak casks was originally RRP £65 ;)
Our pricing is currently £65-£90 for most vattings and single casks

I've tried four Bimbers so far and even have a bottle of Batch No. 01/2019... and unfortunately none of them suit my palate at all!

@@itsgoodjuice I've described the problem as "the wrong kind of fruity" - they just remind me of very cheap boiled sweets...

You paid £70 you say? As a Klub member I paid £77 which supposedly included a 10% discount. Feel a bit ripped off now.

The name comes from the Master Distiller's generational history of making moonshine ("Bimber") in Poland
