Great list. Only tried the Talisker & Ardbeg. Both excellent. Can I throw the Penderyn Madeira cask in to the mix. Can regularly pick this up for £28 in Tesco. Non chill filtered, no added colour & absolutely packed full of flavour! (P.S: the Laddie bottle always puts me off buying it! Stupid I know).
In the USA, whiskies generally aren't available in supermarkets, but some of my widely-available favorite sub-$40 bottles are: - Gordon Graham's Black Bottle - Glen Moray Elgin Classic Sherry and Port - Loch Lomond 12 - Compass Box Artist Blend and Glasgow Blend - Tomatin Dualchas/Legacy - Scarabus Islay Single Malt - Glencadam 10 - Benromach 10 You might be able to find a few others depending on where you live. Also, several of the bottles available from Total Wine and More, a liquor & wine super-store in the USA, shouldn't be dismissed; Islay Gold Lorcan is a particularly good value, and there are several others ✌️
Brilliant review and the first supermarket one I've seen, especially me being from Winchester. Totally agree with everything said. I've newly subed to your channel, and today alone, I've caught around 9 or 10 of your reviews. I'm truly on board, and I look forward to viewing more previous and upcoming videos.
What a list, you guys are lucky in your supermarket selections :) When you say supermarket whisky I think of Shackleton, any Tamnavulin wine cask options, Monkey Shoulder or Glen Moray Elgin classic series. Brilliant video, cheers!
Great vlog. I only really got into whisky in the last year and am still at the stage of purchasing my whisky at supermarkets. I've picked up both the Classic Laddie, Wee Beastie, Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair plus the Ardbeg 10. I have also seen the Auchentoshan American Oak which I love, the Talisker 10 and Skye, Glenmorangie 10, Ardmore, Caol Ila 12, Bowmore 12, Glen Scotia Campbelltown Harbour, Glen Moray and Tamnavulin amongst others. I have also seen the Laphroaig 10 and Select very cheap but I'm slightly put off by the 40% ABV so haven't bought yet.
Fantastic watch mate. Sadly our supermarkets over here don't generally have wide ranging selections. However, I've had 3 on your list. The Talisker 10 is a classic, the Classic Laddie has never let me down and, like you, that Glenfiddich 15 surprised the hell outta me. I got it on offer and, wow, great flavours. Cheers mate!
@@itsgoodjuice I’m from Paris, France ! Here we are spoiled with Monkey Shoulders, Glenfidich 12, Chivas, Jack Daniels JB, Ballantine’s… Nothing to go crazy about 😒 Sometimes we are blessed with an Ardbeg 10, a Laphroaig 10 or an Arran but rarely anything to lose your mine over. For the likes of The Classic Laddie, the WeeBeastie and Glenfidich 15, you’ll have to go to a specialist retailer! Slainte mate! (or "santé" like we say here in France 😉)
Interesting list, especially for a budget shopper like me. Ones I would recommend: Shackleton (£18) Cotswolds (£30) Jameson Black Barrel (£27) Johnnie Walker Green (£45).
Thanks man!! Not tried the Shackleton, or the Jameson. I really did not get on with that Cotswolds… some of their other liquid is _chefs kiss_ but I felt that one missed the mark. I don’t mind the JWGL, just wish it was a tenner cheaper. Cheers dude! 🥃🥃
The best supermarket whisky I've ever tasted is the 40yo Glenbridge which was sold by Aldi in very small quantities for £50 a bottle around ten years ago. Marvellous stuff and rumoured to be a sherried Teaninich.
Maybe slightly cheating but if you have a mate who works for a well known supermarket you can usually pick up glenmorangie lasanta.. Aberlour casg annamh and lagavulin 8 for about 40 quid each. Great vid nice choices have yet to come across Tobermory 12 though.
I was saying the other day I had never tried the Classic Laddie. In my local ScotMid today they were clearing the shelves and had the Laddie for £24.80 clearance!!!
You are a lucky man ! because here in France, excepted the Classic Laddie (50 euros), any whisky that you show is available in supermarket. Please, make an effort and talk to us about supermarket whiskyes under 30 quids !
40 quid for Tobermory 12 year!?? You're so lucky sir. In my area Tobermory 12 sits on the shelf because its $85 USD before tax. Talisker 10 year is $75 USD. I love this list but wish I could get it at your prices.
I'm new here, so hello. I'm in the USA, and some of these prices & availability don't exactly correlate. For example, Tobermory 12 is now a near $100 bottle, making it more expensive than expensive bottles like Macallan 12 or Springbank 10; it's all very absurd.
Let me know if you found this useful, or if you know any bottles that I may have missed ⬇⬇⬇
Thanks for watching! 🥃

My local morrisons stocks literally zero of these bad boys. I'd be mega happy if they did! Great video dude. All solid choices
Oh man, really??? Morrisons is where I got at least 2 of them! That sucks…
Thanks man, much appreciated 🥃🥃🥃
@@itsgoodjuice that's being in Scotland for you! Down here it's dire!

Solid choices! Next time I'm in the UK I'm intrigued to see what's in the supermarket!
Next time you’re in the UK, you’re slinging me a DM and we are smashing some drams mate!! 🥃🥃
@@itsgoodjuice Looking forward to it!

Have you tried Ardmore Legacy? Great value supermarket whisky which you can pick up for as cheap as £18-£22 depending on what supermarket has deals
You know what… I tried it ages ago, I believe, and wasn’t a fan… but my palate has changed so much I definitely need to go back and revisit. Cheers! 🥃
Superb supermarket whisky review. Sometimes we forget these bottles but value wise these stand up!
Absolutely agree! Cheers mate! 🥃🥃

Great picks. Enjoy them all.
Good choices - I'd agree these are probably the best single malts available in supermarkets right now
Thanks, I’m glad you agree!! Slainte! 🥃🥃
l like the Aerstone Single Malt Scotch Whisky Aged 10 Years Land Cask, priced £20 to £30 from Asda. The sea cask is fine too.
I’ll have to take a trip to Asda and give it a look! Cheers!! 🥃🥃

Thanks brother!! All great drams. Do try and get the Tobermory… really nice liquid for the price man. Love it.
Bro, your supermarket shelves look amazing! 😭
Hahaha thanks!! Where are you from, and what do you have on your shelves? Always keen to hear what others have access to! Slainte! 🥃🥃🥃

The Talisker 10 is in Waitrose for £32 a bottle, picked one up Saturday, reduced from £50 ❤

Haha sadly I don’t… but will keep in mind 😉
Tobermory 12 was going for £41.39 on Amazon when I checked this afternoon. Slainte! 🥃🥃
Amazing that you're able to get alcohol in a supermarket - love it! 👌
I was saying the other day I had never tried the Classic Laddie. In my local ScotMid today they were clearing the shelves and had the Laddie for £24.80 clearance!!!
Grab me a couple next time!! 😂😂
I'm jealous of the price you pay for Talisker 10. It's one of my absolute favorites, but it's up to $73 where I live.
You are a lucky man ! because here in France, excepted the Classic Laddie (50 euros), any whisky that you show is available in supermarket.

I had some Tesco club card vouchers so went to see what whisky they had, ended up with a lagavulin 8 for £32. Can’t argue with that
In France,Monkey Shoulder for 24€ . It’s a blend but very easy to drink.
I go through phases of loving, and not loving, monkey shoulder! Will certainly have to revisit it. Cheers! 🥃

Would add wild turkey 101 at about £25 on offer and jack Daniels bonded at £32
Isn't that a bottle of Bunna 12 on the top shelf over your shoulder?? 🤣
…no 😒
