The Sixers lost in the first round to the Knicks but this season was always going to suck. The real action happens this offseason when Philly has more cap space than any contender and will reshape the roster around Embiid and Maxey. This is a look at what they might do and what it means for Embiid.

Yeah I think the Sixers had seen enough of Simmons to realize where that was going. I thought signing that big contract was a bit crazy at the time. It's easy to heckle from the sidelines, but I think most people could see it was a mistake. Strangely, I had more confidence in Tobias Harris-- also a mistake. 😂

DeMar is still a star its not his fault he's on a relatively old and injury prone bulls team that had like 7 players injured around the end of the regular season and he averaged about 30-5-5 in march and still showed he has the ability to take over games late in the clutch and drawing a double team 90% of the time he touches the ball because he's a top 5 mid range shooter OAT and probaly number 2 rn only behind KD I watched most of the bulls games this season BECAUSE OF THIS MAN IF YOU THINK HE'S NOT A STAR ANYMORE YOUR WRONG but because of their injury's they found a few really solid looking role players to help out next season. People forget how great the bulls were just 2 or 3 years ago with most of their core guys playing. Tobias wasn't chosen over anyone. They decided that Simmons was the ball handler and were questioning Jimmy over his loyalty and respect for authority. Hearing that, Jimmy decided that he will not even entertain and contract discussions and went to Miami.
TOBIAS WAS SIGNED IN ISOLATION BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO LOOSE BOTH FREE AGENTS SINCE JIMMY + 76ERS DID NOT TRUST EACH OTHER.

Philly doesn't need a 3rd star, but a functional team around Embiid and Maxey. ,3&D guys, a solid backup center when Joel will go down again,a mix of solid and veterans. Pay big some old players with the only goal of a last big contract would be a disaster
Yea I liked Phillys team this year and honestly thought they had enough to win a championship. Get rid of 0pt Tobi and replace him with some solid role players, I think Embiid and Maxey are enough. However, the obvious fact that Embiid needs to be healthy which seems unlikely at this point, but going off of that, even if they bring in a 3rd star, it's still depends on Embiid...people forget he was playing like Wilt the first 20 games, legit was unstoppable.

you got it wrong. PG wasnt the one that said "no, i dont want to resign yet." It was the clippers front office that was unwilling to offer him a max extension. PG wanted to resign as soon as possible but the clipper front office had doubts on him and after the playoffs they are right... but they should not have resigned kawhi either.
You also got it wrong in that jimmy butler will resign with the 76ers. When jimmy was on the podcast with JJ Reddick, he said he felt disrespected by the 76ers front office when he overheard them saying "we can control jimmy." This was because jimmy was viewed as wild after he left the twolves. So no, Jimmy Butler isnt coming back to the 76ers cause he does not like the 76ers management team. He might be cool with Embiid, but he does not like the front office and those that are in charge. One of the big reasons why he signed with Miami was because they also have a good front office and coach. Also dont forget they chose tobias harris over him...
Best player 76ers can go after that I can see signing with them is Brandon Ingram.

When I go into online comment sections, people seem to hate Embiid as if every player that existed before him had a personality like Tim Duncan or Nikola Jokic, so that was strange to hear him called "liked by fans and media."
Tristan Thompson, Oliver Maxence Prosper, Dwight Powell, Andrew Nemhard, Jamal Murray, Leonard Miller, Bennedict Mathurn, A.J. Lawson, Caleb Houston, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lugentz Dort, Oshae Brissett and Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Prior to the elimination of Orlando these were all the Canadians still playing for their teams in the play-offs. As a proud Canadian I am enjoying the play-offs as I cheer for all my countryman. Not bad for a nation that produced one NBA player 20 years ago. What is especially inspiring is that there is more than one of these players that are impact player for their teams. (PS: I didn't mention those that are actually pretty good that didn't make the play-offs, ie Brooks and Wiggins) European players, American players hear lots about them but Canadians ...............................................never. Quietly taking over the NBA.

George is injury prone too. Miles Bridges can hold down post when Embiid is injured & can also hit outside shots. Be honest they don’t need a star but support for Maxey & Embiid. What you've said about Maxey's money is incorrect. Signing a rookie extension does not impact a player's year 4 salary, the extension kicks in in the 5th year. Maxey can sign precisely the same contract as a free agent this off season, just a year later. Kicks in at the exact same time. All he sacrificed was the guarantee of already having the next (up to) 5 years locked away. Doesn't lose a cent in net terms.
First 4 years are all paid in accordance with the player's rookie scale contract unless the team option is declined

JB shouldn’t have opened his mouth in the first place. Even if JB played in the series, they would still be going to Cancun. The Heat don’t have enough offensive talent to overcome the likes of the Celtics. They had the same issues last season. In spite of them getting to the Finals last season the Heat fell and were swept by the Nuggets due to being exposed for their lack of offensive production.
